I love leek videos! Theyre one of my main crops because my husband is allergic to onions. They take up a big portion of my garden space
This video came at the perfect time for me. I’m just starting a bunch on onion and leek seeds ☺️
This is on my list for this week- so excited to plant my first plants out in my first ever garden! Thanks for this video.
Yay, excited for you!!
This is a very good video of how to plant seedlings. How do you use leeks in cooking? I would to see a future video on using leeks in your cooking.
we use them pretty much like onions, and we also like to make potato leek soup with them 👍
I like these videos
The leeks I planted last year weren’t so successful. Glad to see this video before I transplant them. I want to try planting 2-3 in a hole. I am growing Bulgarian leeks from baker creek. Do you fertilize them again mid season? Thanks! - Zee, N. Cali zone10a
If I remember, yes I will fertilize them again, and maybe water with fish fertilizer a few times. Good luck!
I personally didn't have luck with that variety. I've grown several leek varieties and that one has never gotten very big.
How did yours go this year?
@@elyserhyne243 most of them were nice, thick and tall, 2x the diameter of a quarter and about 2ft after trimming all the leaves. I planted them really deep. I used most of the smaller ones when I made stock with roasted beef bones. I’ll plant some again but will try to leave them in the ground longer than 5 months
