@matthewhaslam1045 Yeah, but you have to keep killer powers in mind when making a map, the lack of obstruction makes traps worthless there, and Trapper is already the worst killer
The map should not only be convenient for winning, but also beautiful, fun and entertaining. For example, father campbell's chapel, my favorite map is the circus, where it is very beautiful, and sometimes the killer is chasing you, so I think you can escape from him by running. It won't catch you because there are too many windows inside the church,I appreciate such a map. I feel like I'm in a horror movie. Wow.
I am so glad to find another comrade who enjoys Midwich. As a Silent Hill fan and someone who plays both sides equally, I love that map so so much. The atmosphere is great, chases are fun, it’s just a blast to play. I also find RPD really fun to play on both sides. I think that could be because I play Sadako, and she’s very strong on both versions of RPD, and the RE2 remake is one of my favorite games ever.
The reason maps that are generally better for killers are also the best maps is due to the way chases work. The survivor already (in most cases) dictates the flow of the chase and where it goes. In a map that leans towards the survivors favor, this fact makes the game pretty unplayable for the killer and perhaps even boring for the survivor in extreme examples.
Hopefully they plan on updating some of these soon. I know EoC is getting some attention, which is great, but some of the others need severe updates too, particularly the Borgo with collision issues and some of the others with sizing. Additionally, I also think it would be great to see BHVR actually go back to its original idea of having them all be “nighttime” or “dark” maps to actually keep with the game title. That’s a smaller issue I have, but I would like to see it done just to make things easier for killers like Trapper.
It’s funny how the terrible maps you put are actually the maps I die on the most as a survivor & the maps you put as the best are ones I escape from all the time
Okay hot take: I actually really like ormand. Yes there have been times I’ve been cucked by it but it is the only map I actually find fun to play as killer and the short loops are fun to mind game with a pretty alright main building
from my experience, dead dawg saloon is the worst map in the game because there are far to many breakable walls and the main structure is an absolute nightmare especially because i mostly play as killer. from my experience of mostly playing as killer in the game, dead dawg saloon is one of the most survivor sided maps
Why do people still think the RPD is too big? The map was already among the smallest ones in the game and had sections that really showed the lack of scale of the map, and they just made it even smaller for both East and West Wing.
People complain that it has a "confusing layout" yet I think it's the most understandable map and it takes me like 10 second to walk across the whole map
As someone who plays a lot of both survivor and killer, Dead Dawg Saloon is the one and only map I know I’m gonna 4k just about every time as killer and know I’m gonna lose almost every time with 3-4 gens left as survivor. The pallets are terrible and every decent loop can be destroyed by breaking a wall. Not even the shack is safe. Doesn’t help that the killer is gonna be able to see just about every gen just by standing in the right spot. In terms of balance I’d say it’s the worst map for survivors in the entire game and a great map for any killer, even low tier ones like trapper. It’s the only map in the game that feels hopeless when you spawn in as survivor.
Both the Backwater Swamp, and Coldwind Farm’s maps are survivor sided due to the corn and cattails that are impossible to see in as killer . I hate them so much.
As killer I would hear a generator being repaired above me then walk across the ENTIRE map to get to the stairs then have to walk ALL they way back to where I heard the gen just for the survivors repairing it to have walked away and because it's a indoors map I dont know where they went and people say rpd and haddonfield are bad :/
Gideon's should be SO MUCH lower Imo. This map is lore accurate, in the sense that every time I play killer on it, It's just pure torture every single time. This map is so unbalanced and unfun. It's literally just run, break, run, break, run, break again and again and again since most of the pallets are impossible to loop. Yes, it's pallet town, but over 80% of them are extremely mindgame-able. It's really overhyped as a survivor-sided map. Also doesn't hurt that I mostly play Demo and Blight, so shredding through pallet after pallet is easy if survivors aren't falling for mindgames. And once you've shredded through enough, survivors' options are basically zero because there are almost no windows in Gideon.
Part 4 of requesting a ranking of killers and their respective survivors on horror franchise potential. From no movies cause of no malice and entity control. To one hit wonders, to trilogies, to entire franchises.
Lery's is damn near unplayable for some killers though. I play a lot of Deathslinger, Clown, and Sadako. Good luck getting a win on that map with them. Slinger has some good spots he can surprise survivors with, but playing that map as Clown often feels like you don't have a power at all. I do play quite a bit of Knight as well though, and it's actually a solid map for him.
I have a feeling that if they fix all the maps, it is likely that you will see tweets and videos talking about the maps being very boring and repetitive.
I disagree with ormunds placement as someone who plays a lot of killer and survivor it can be pretty strong with spirit as she blends in I feel and also dredge, wraith, hag, sadoko (I’m sorry if I butchered her name) it’s also very powerful as survivor I personally think it really comes down to the killers skill and being able to pressure
I disagree with the Rancid Abbattoir placement. The main structure is so annoying that thing alone makes me want to put it in the lowest tier. It’s not even like you can just *avoid* that building, you’re forced to engage with it almost every single match, and depending on the survivor you’re up against it’ll be a huge pain in the ass. Plus, you know, every place with corn in it is not the best.
Honestly surprised how high the Game was, not only are there a tonne of pallets, but most of them have absolutely zero mind game to them as they have no upper walls, really long structures either side, and there's about 4-5 of them that are god pallets, especially around the bathroom area and the meat packing room with the big drop down
I can't believe Garden of Misery still hasn't been fixed. It's awful for basically every killer and is easily the single most survivor sided map in the game.
Wreckers Yard was the first map I played in DBD. I played as Trapper with I think just Brutal Strenght and nothing more killed two one disconected the last one got out through hatch because I wasn't able to catch the guy when he jumped into it. It was in the 2018 in October when the Halloween event was a thing. So overall I just have sentiment for this map really.
I have to say I disagree with the placement of Midwich. Every time I load in Midwich I just know we're dying. I don't know exactly what's wrong with it but almost every team I've gone into the map with has been wrecked :(
Even as a survivor, I don't like playing on Eyrie of Crows or Garden of Joy. Both are really interesting to look at, but I just don't like playing on them.. I tend to just sigh and think oh it's this map.. Great.. I'd hate to play killer on either map considering how much I hate playing on them as survivor
It’s because he’s a killer main so he did a killer main ranking without saying it (putting survivor-sided maps at the bottom and killer-sided on the top)
Arguably, I think Rotten Fields, Shelter Woods, and Wreckers Yard are the worst maps. Its basically a GGs for the killer every time unless the survivors are REALLY coordinated. Then I would put the survivor sided maps below those mainly because I've seen alot of even average killers do really good against a good survivor coordinated team on those maps. They end up leaving to easy 3 gens for the killer alot of the time. (Depending on what time you spend at as killer) Tbh idk why or when, they'll had more versions of Garden of Joy. Like the other realms. Behavior themselves confirmed it in their 6th year anniversary livestream. So I wonder when that could be 🤔.
I never understood how people always say Midwich is killer sided. I have almost as hard of a time winning on that map as I do on Garden of Joy. Just hold W and throw a pallet down every once in a while, takes forever for the killer to get to gens, it's confusing, there's breakable walls that are required just ugh...
Rotten fields in okay maps is hurtfull, unless you're playing a killer than can easely traverse the map, this map is horribly survivor sided, just the fact that two pig trees can spawn should be more than enough to decide that
I have a super hot take, I love playing Erie of crows as killer. Idk why but I’ve just never had a bad experience with the map. It’s too big for sure but maybe I’m just weird. Rpd is also my favorite map in the game so idk. I’m a killer main btw, I have 400 hours and probably 380ish is as killer.
Yeah idk I think the worst map is the silent hill one, if you play on a console it’s basically pitch black so as survivor or killer I literally can’t see anything through most all of the map, really sucks since you can’t adjust brightness like you can for pc players, meaning they can see you while you see nothing 😤
I play killer more than survivor and I can comfortably say nearly every single map in this game is killer sided. I got to iri 1 as killer weeks before I did survivor. Every game I got +2, back to back 4ks as nurse, blight, artist, ghost face, spirit and trickster. Playing survivor is exponentially more difficult, anyone sensible would agree
This list has kinda made me realize that my opinions on maps are a bit odd. I’m a killer main and I actually prefer maps like Ormond and Eyrie of Crows because of their brightness and dislike maps like Pale Rose and Midwich because they’re so dark. Anyone else or do I just have bad eyesight?
It’s ironic that it’s called the ‘Garden of Joy’ because that is the complete opposite of how I feel when I load in on that map 😂

@@drip-asf this might be my worst take this is when I was nostalgic for that map after ST got axed
@@cocosolis8240 what perks are you using? i'm just interested in what perks people are using
Part 4 of requesting a ranking of killers and their respective survivors on horror franchise potential.
Unrelated but i love seeing azhymovs names in each survivor match
I have a feeling that if they fix all the maps, it is likely that you will see tweets and videos talking about the maps being very boring and repetitive.
I disagree with ormunds placement as someone who plays a lot of killer and survivor it can be pretty strong with spirit as she blends in I feel and also dredge, wraith, hag, sadoko (I’m sorry if I butchered her name) it’s also very powerful as survivor I personally think it really comes down to the killers skill and being able to pressure
The fact that it's called garden of joy makes me wanna scream into my pillow every night
Gas heaven deserves to be at the bottom. Great job i knew u could do it
The fact that you didn’t put Hawkins is a crime
I disagree with the Rancid Abbattoir placement. The main structure is so annoying that thing alone makes me want to put it in the lowest tier. It’s not even like you can just *avoid* that building, you’re forced to engage with it almost every single match, and depending on the survivor you’re up against it’ll be a huge pain in the ass. Plus, you know, every place with corn in it is not the best.
i love and kinda hate that you can tell when some of these were recorded with the awful rubberbanding for that week after christmas
My 5 most hated maps RPD, RPD, RPD, Silent Hill, and RPD
mine is only Racoon city.. it so damn big
I'm pretty much a killer main, but you know what, I actually kinda like Eyrie of Crows.
i like the temple of purgation's basement. the basement is downstairs in the temple. so its a basement in a basement
Honestly surprised how high the Game was, not only are there a tonne of pallets, but most of them have absolutely zero mind game to them as they have no upper walls, really long structures either side, and there's about 4-5 of them that are god pallets, especially around the bathroom area and the meat packing room with the big drop down
ik the Map is gone but i would like to know where would the Lab be if you have to decide?
16:43 that looked like an amazing transition lol
I can't believe Garden of Misery still hasn't been fixed. It's awful for basically every killer and is easily the single most survivor sided map in the game.
We can all agree Shelter Woods is the worst map in the game
No one will say it isnt
Wreckers Yard was the first map I played in DBD. I played as Trapper with I think just Brutal Strenght and nothing more killed two one disconected the last one got out through hatch because I wasn't able to catch the guy when he jumped into it. It was in the 2018 in October when the Halloween event was a thing. So overall I just have sentiment for this map really.
Garden of joy is my favorite and I play both sides I don’t see the issues with it
Jolly rancher ass trapper weapon… great video ❤️
I have to say I disagree with the placement of Midwich. Every time I load in Midwich I just know we're dying. I don't know exactly what's wrong with it but almost every team I've gone into the map with has been wrecked :(
Doesn’t help that the exits are exactly a straight shot across from each other
Just here to spread some love for RPD. 🥰
Me getting a 4k on garden of joy on first time ever playing on it:
So what I get from this is you think maps that give killer an advantage are "balanced"? Lol okay
Is it just me or if u focus on thos guys vouce it sounds metallic. I love the videos tho, keep up the gd work.
There’s so many maps that are either killer sided or survivor sided. They need to rework a lot of maps. I play both
Even as a survivor, I don't like playing on Eyrie of Crows or Garden of Joy. Both are really interesting to look at, but I just don't like playing on them.. I tend to just sigh and think oh it's this map.. Great.. I'd hate to play killer on either map considering how much I hate playing on them as survivor
Love these!😁
The Backwater Swamp maps are WAY too high.
It’s because he’s a killer main so he did a killer main ranking without saying it (putting survivor-sided maps at the bottom and killer-sided on the top)
Where would you put Eyrie from the 6.5 PTB? And maybe you could make a video ranked by the size
The first vid of yours where I disagree A LOT.
I could explain why but then we'd be here a while haha
The Iron works of Misery is so much fun. I give a killers a run for their money
Is it April the 1st again? Can’t agree with most picks. Good vid anyways.
(Depending on what time you spend at as killer)
Tbh idk why or when, they'll had more versions of Garden of Joy. Like the other realms.
Behavior themselves confirmed it in their 6th year anniversary livestream.
So I wonder when that could be 🤔.
Omg, I finally found someone who also thinks Shelter Woods is a terrible map ^^
Eyrie of crows is my favorite map on Survivor because I run balanced landing and I just run the library if I see the killer for even a second
Yeah idk I think the worst map is the silent hill one, if you play on a console it’s basically pitch black so as survivor or killer I literally can’t see anything through most all of the map, really sucks since you can’t adjust brightness like you can for pc players, meaning they can see you while you see nothing 😤
So all the survivor sided maps are bad but the killer sided maps are good?
The killer sided maps are so much less sided to one side than the survivor sided ones…
@@cuppedcup i guess i just dont feel the same
I play killer more than survivor and I can comfortably say nearly every single map in this game is killer sided.
Same, I oddly love playing ormond as killer and actually often send myself there. I've also never seen the issue with eyrie either
I despise Midwich, mostly for just how claustrophobic it makes me
