@ihmcallister Agreed. About 30 yesrs ago, I read my first copy of Economist. A German industrialist stated that it would be very difficult for the Chinese to manufacture a car. We know better. The Western car market is been sustained with high tariffs! If Brazil can manufacture high end jets, I'm very sure the Chinese can easily achieve this. yea. even where it's mainly built with state subsidies, intellectual property theft and western components, it's still uncompetitive. no airline outside of china will buy it without being coerced.

China is making 99% of all components for the C929 and C939 in China including the engines. The Yangtze River has already built the engines to be fitted on the Comac aircraft. This video is lying about Comac’s lack of engines as it did not tell about the Yangtze River who already has been producing powerful high bypass ratio engines for its aircraft.
