After Demoing a couple round balers showing which baler we decided to go with. #farming #dairyfarm #equipment #roundbaler #johndeere #kuhn #claas #case
For us small farmers especially, and all farmers as far as that is concerned, not getting beat to death by the high cost of equipment in some way is vital. As you explained very well, with the trade in and getting a good price for the new baler, you have done the best a person can do. Having parts and a good dealer close is also so extremely important. Well done! Nick, North West Farmer (Oregon)
It’s good to see your able to update some equipment. I look at a few things I just bought, wait a minute, that was 10 years ago! Time flies and equipment get old.
Congratulations on your new purchase! It's a really nice looking piece of equipment and hopefully it will provide you many many years of good service! Thanks for taking the time to share why you bought it! 👍😎
Congratulations on your purchase. I hope it serves you guys well. I like Kuhn products…. I’ve used enough of them… the V spreaders, the vertical mixers, the double rakes, the mergers etc etc. I hope your bailer will last to for many many many years. Great video
Good luck, this should really lighten your workload during the summer. I was always stacking in the barn. Until your little guy gets older you need all the help you can get.
Im glad you never went with a case/ new holland baler. The last 2 new holland balers (br780, br7090) are junk after about 15000 bales. Our john deere 569 is great but dont like the net wrap but we also got a vermeer 605N and the net wrap system is second to none the best. The monitor is crazy good. Built like a freight train and will be no more new hollands and will be many more john deere and vermeer balers.
Congrats, on picking a very nice baler , you’ll be very happy with it, can’t wait for more videos from you with it and just all your great videos . Thank you mike
Great video I think you made the right decision for your farm. Good parts and service go a long way. It’s a shame some dealers aren’t as willing to work with trade ins.
Just a couple of things you might try, I always turn the drawbar over to gain clearance for the windrow and keep the pin from dragging material. I also made a bellypan for the tractor from a sheet of plastic. My last suggestion goes back to your baling video is to concentrate on filling the sides of the bales, run one side and then move to the other side if you just weave back and forth you may have a tendency to overfill the center of the bales that will give them a slight football shape. Beyond that I think you made a good choice having multiple dealers available to get parts is awesome.
Thanks for your analysis and review. We're replacing a NH 634 and are leaning toward either a Kuhn 3155 or Kubota 4160. I appreciate all the information.
I like how everyone becomes an authority on what brand you should be trying out. I would really like to hear your story on Kabota. Sounds like you have lots of warm and fuzzy feelings for them. Lol
Haha, people have been telling us what brands we should use for years Jeff! No problems with Kubota. The dealership near us that sells Kubota is the problem. Their parts guys are good but the service isn't that good. Pretty sad when we have to have John Deere come fix our New Holland stuff
For quick n easy round bale storage try hay tarps stacked 3 then 2 n 1 on top , hay comes out just like the day it was baled , stacked on skids or old tires . I get mine from Rocky Meadow farm sized to fit your bale size n shipped by FedEx from PA .very economical storage
Awesome! Availability of parts nearby dealerships [I repeat dealership(s)] plus a favorable trade-in on the diskbine,.... A pretty smart decision I think. (And I feel you angst in the haymow) anyway hope you get many years of good service.
They a great baler. I liked the Deere for the net but that's it. No soft core kit, no drop floor and they still back in the 8 series when every one else is with the times. But the Deere price is always up there. I would have liked a McHale but they low balled me on a trade 10k less than anybody else. Lot's of used 460's here been traded on Kuhn or McHale. I ended up with a CIH 455 and have 4000 on it had a few sensor issues but been good and it will eat the hay. Cheers
I hope you made a good pick with the Kuhn. A great day for me was seeing my JD 530 on the truck leaving, with a NH baler taking it's place . It' had the knife kit in it, and made great bales that fed out well. Hope you are satisfied with your buy, I know how frustrating it can be when a baler doesn't work right.👍
Hey .thats the right decision !! It must not on all machines at the farm blind the John Deere company logo !!
