Anyone who drives in these conditions knows what the real problem clearly was. It's very evident in the video. The problem isn't the car but rather the tyres. The Austrailian reviews proved that the Tank is actually a very capable offroader. More should have been done here to select the right modes and to engage difflocks.

OMW, this presenter should stay VERY FAR away from 4X4's, since he has NO clue what an axle diff-lock is - nevermind how to off-road! (Keep him in Polo's and Beemers for tests going forward, big please) As an experienced off-roader, this was just torture to watch!
But I am glad he messed up so badly in a severely off-road situation, since the "fragileness" of the Tank is clearly depicted. Which is not an issue with a Fortuner, btw, in such a muddy situation. (The Fortuner wouldn't get stuck, or malfunction, that easily, in the first place, lol)
Jacob is terrible his reviews leaves you with more questions than answers and they’re very harshly pressed of time it’s no surprised he was clueless and mess up at the same time… surely GWM won’t be impressed with such advertising 🤷🏽
800k for experimenting you know... And the fact that the rear wheels leave the ground on braking 😂😂😂
The looks without the brooks
Cool factor, yes. 😎 But overall, I'm still skeptical 🫤. Comparing this to bakkie based SUVs is just misleading marketing. Everest, Fortuner and Mux are not in this class.
Agree. Quite a bit missing from this review nevermind the mishap.
at 800k i wouldnt experiment, im suprised the hybrid unit is not sealed I can imagine driving in heavy rain and the car shuts down due to water hmm scary
Hill descent looked horrible and those tires had no chance, if it had tired that are a bit more tailored more to off roading.
12.8l/100km and they think that’s less pollution than a diesel which can average well under 9.5/100. This is greenwashing…
Any car guy will tell u when u buy and SUV or Bakkie it must be Turbo Diesel. I think GWM Made a big mistake by not offering a TDI version
Is it Diesel or Petrol? You mentioned twice the 2,0 litre turbo hybrid engine, but not if it is petrol or diesel? Does it have low range? If it is a Fortuner or Everest competator does it have the tools? Diff lock? Bad review from someone that doesn't know what it is to be a motoring journalist! As a journalist you need to be able to drive vehicles off road with out almost killing it by drivers error! Half baked facts in this review!
13:20 The GWM Sub lol
Most unprofessional review I have ever seen. Stick to reviewing Polos.
And RS7's
Still remains a fong kong😭😭 almost a million for lemon while there are oranges like Toyota
