Brilliant thanks for the video clip looking back at legends of Ireland 🇮🇪 7:09 I am 55yrs old born in Derry Northern Ireland still live here love the music of the Clancy brothers would listen daily to all the great musicians who help know our history and excellent for your Mental Health in my opinion x⚘🌍🌈
I grew up listening to the Clancys ,paddy Riley, dubliners Jim McCann, paddy McAvoy , the fureys and many more thanks to my late dad ,great music that will never grow old 🎶 ♥ up limerick city Ireland 🇮🇪
Those singers will be forever in our hearts❤ theirs songs were able to touch the human soul like no one else did before 😊 I'm a french student in journalism and, for me, the Clancy brothers represent all the wonderful things in Ireland, a rebelious and independent mind, a wonderful humour and a real sense of witty ❤
I was blessed to see Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy in concert several times and their concerts were amazing and magical. I got to meet and talk with them a few minutes, I found they were both nice, genuine and gracious people. The four of them have now joined the heavenly choir but luckily their music lives on.
I ADORE The Clancy brothers, along with The Dubliners,Foster and Allen...some of the best music ever written, and these three bands make it beautiful. So grateful to have had them all on our wonderful planet.
They brought a lot of attention to Ireland. Thank you Mr. Sullivan - hope you are all enjoying some heavenly music. God be good to all of you. True to your heritage and always down to earth. USA and Sligo
Wow...absolutely amazing documentary of the Clancy brothers and Tommy Makem ! Thank you "CR's Video Vaults" for bringing this visual treasure for us to see! Love all things Irish! :)
My father, Irish-Scottish decent, loved Irish pub music especially the Tommy Makem & the Clancy brothers. I love their style, and how they capture that Irish spirit. It begs a response 🍀
I'm sorry my children don't feel the connection I feel to these men. They have heard the songs over the years, but I guess i'm just an old sentimental women...I hope I get to meet them in heaven
Happy St Patrick's Day Makem and Clancy Brothers ❤love your Seal song sung as a little lassie in USA 🇺🇸 with Jesus crucified Mary 🇺🇸 💃🏼✝️ 🇻🇦 🇮🇱and I love ☘️Dana Scallon 🍀2 of my Irish inspirations❤️
"When we sang a rebel song in those days it wasn't to present any political point of view except to show that there were interesting songs about what people were doing in Ireland. You know, because it was an interesting human expression...I think the folk songs always told more truth about history than the history books anyway. As somebody said, 'written history is nothing more than the propaganda of the victor'."
One evening I was in the John Barleycorn on 43rd street near Third Ave. I turned around and here’s the Clancy Brother’s and Tommy Makem. They were not appearing, just bouncing around. Wound up drinking with them. It was memorable, indeed!
Mary the money she's getting so funny she won't be left out till Saint Patrick's Day. She sparing the brass for to buy a jackass for to bring her to Mass on a Sunday!
I think it is now safe to let the cat out of the bag and tell the truth about The Clancy brothers and their 1st cousin Tommy Makem, they had a flipping great time all of the time, it was full time having a great time, what a hard life to live
One of the best Trad folk bands to ever come out of Ireland 🇮🇪 and probably the best in the world .

Absolute legends
A bit of classic Joan Lunden in the mix too. Reading from cue cards and not a teleprompter. Vintage.
Saw them in Bronx 1961
