I bought the Jescar last year….exactly a year ago as I put two coats on my new car……it’s been fantastic….just put two new coats on last week…..the shine and finish is absolutely top notch…..my wife is complaining that the door handles are too slippy to open the door…..finish like glass…….always been a wax guy for decades……but can’t compliment the Jescar high enough…
the buff on it is magic. the durability good. the shine good. Just a bit down on hydrophbicity so it can look dead when it actually is not. I dont think ive seen a better base line sealant though. the buff is so important for me.
As a newbie just watching and taking in the information new and old i just want to thank you for your channel, it's informative and entertaining and last but not least well explained with no bias. Thanks Jon
Had my 1st experience with Mitchell and King last week Jon. Pure, titan and Azure wax. Never seen a wet glossy finish like it before. Well impressed 💯
I have been using the turtle wax black pigmented polish and wax when I don't have time to do a full detail and its great at filling in and removing swirls on black paint, well worth a try!
Jon you get so excited in your explanations you become tongue tied in your giddiness 😂🤣😂🤣. It always cracks me up👌
Scholl Concepts must have long-since changed the formulation for W6+. Back in about 2015 when I started this detailing lark, my chosen protection product W6+ was a rather runny liquid that resembled a used car dealer's 'Pink Polish' - the polish for Panthers.
Thanks for video again.❤..have you making video about new korrek tfc ceramic wax.
Love scholl polishes, still saving for the vintage wax.
I really like the vintage wax. you can argue no wax is really worth 100's of pounds. But I will buy some more high end waxes soon. Im still sort of addicted to them.
Really interesting thanks Jon. I know its really old school but i have returned to Megs NXT2 Sealant recently on my other half's Black Ibiza, and having tried many many sealants and waxes i can honestly say on black its hard to beat its fill and gloss enhancing properties.
it has great buff but the durability is terrible mate.
@@ForensicDetailing 👍 that's very true
last year i did do the Megs Hybrid Ceramic liquid prep and HCLW on a black car by hand, and it was amazing looking, machine or by hand and, as with all Megs products, the buffage is very nice. Expensive, but good if you don't mind the 2 step
The tricky buffage could be helped by applying a bit less on the pad, do you think? Much like any wax or sealant the less you apply the less you need to remove. Might be worth trying a tiny amount on a slightly onr dampened pad to spread it thinner, then allow the onr to evaporate and the wax to cure for a few mins then the wipe off might be nicer
100% regarding new car paint Jon,, picked up our new Audi A3 yesterday (Python Yellow) & you can see slight swirls in paint work. As you say people just assume as its a new car the paint will be 100% which is never the case. Only time paint will be 100% is when it comes out a spray booth 👍
Ultralock is awesome. If there’s anything out there that can be just as good beading and durability wise, but decrease the amount of time you need to let it set up after applying and before buffing, I would instantly buy it.
I tried W6 over 12 months ago on a black car. Started on the hood. . It was a nightmare to buff off but did give a richness to the paint. I gave up and used a different product. I contacted Scholl who advised that they were aware of this issue and were revising the formula. When did you purchase your bottle John? I couldnt see any mention on your bottle about it being a new version. Yours looked easier to buff than what i was faced with. My bloody arm almost dropped off
I'm so glad I mentioned this. When I used it years ago I thought it was terrible. This time i thought it was usable but still a problematic buff. This bottle is brand new. The buff is still a problem.
Jon, what is your opinion on this W6+ Black in comparison with Bilt Hamber Laboratories' liquid Hydra Wax?
Hydra is old school wax and solvent. This w6 should out perform it, but ironically I don't think it does.
Hi John, what dilution ratio were you using of surfex when applying to the test panel? Just for reference when maintaining my car
1:9 mate with DI water to stop it clogging the filters.
@@ForensicDetailing cheers pal! Great vid aswell btw!
What’s the best gloss shine finish/one step finish polish to use on the market?
boom. ua-cam.com/video/VPqMFu85rYU/v-deo.html
for me though I will go with s20. but watch this video
Hi Forensic Detailing.... noob Sunday washer here. Could you do me a favour and recommend a pad for application when hand waxing? Preferably one with a decent grip? I've just been using the one that came with my wax and it's not great. Ta muchly!
I have one like the bats in air hockey. Think it's a scholl one from in2detailing
@@peterborrowman2041 the scholl is too soft but its nice and big, gets round the car fast. but also check out the adams ones from prestige car care. See my polishing by hand video recently i show it there. get the stiffest color choice one. (red or blue cant remember.
@@peterborrowman2041 ty kindly- appreciate it.
John do you know Duragloss TPP 105 ? I love it but it's not imported in Italy no more, can last up to a year and I need a substitute, could you help me with it?
Isn't that acrylic based like carlack?
@@ForensicDetailing I think so, it's amazing cause it has cleaners inside so even with no decontamination works well , lasts 6 months to a year. Ultra glossy, almost like it has fillers in it, just love it no other product works like that.
@@ForensicDetailing also can't find carlack in Italy
First polish since the winter on my 2 year old Hyundai Ioniq 2 coats of Autoglym SRP came up fantastic wouldn't use anything else
You need to seal or wax on top of the srp. It's a glaze. This is a sealer not a glaze.
@@ForensicDetailing I will later when the rain stops 😆
Love your singing John 😂 is it better the fuso 99? That's always my benchmark.
it wont last as long as fusso from what I just saw.
I wish fuso99 wasn't such a massive pain to use. The stars have to align for the application to not be a total disaster and even then, buffing it destroys my arms and back
@@joshuaszeto not sure what your doing (possibly applying to much product) but I don't find it hard to use at all.
@@ant76og22 oh I have tried the thinnest of layers and even then it was a massive pain. I love the stuff but goddamn it's so much work.
@@joshuaszeto I apply by hand & buff off by machine, easy.
Is the Fusso Coat a better product than the W6?
for me yes. I REALLY wanted to like the W6 because I like the brand and Im looking for good liquid machine applied sealants. but the W6 didnt hit the spot for me.
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks for quick answer!
I'm looking for a long lasting coating that also are quite resilient to different kind of chemicals and degreasers.
Fusso Coat is quite cheap and seems to be a good overall product.
Can you recommend it to me?
Where does the TW seal n shine fall in this. Or is it not in the same league.
thats more spray wax. but I would bet that USA version I have on the shelf can match or beat them for durability. but the water based spray waxes, I think of these as film forming products. their durability can be top draw but I like a sort of resinous thicker product I can machine on and buff out. that to me is the best base.
Nice
Rupes advanced or 3D Speed?
Rupes Advanced. Once you buff it down the paint feels and looks incredible and has decent protection. 3d speed looks equally good, feels nearly as good. but the montan wax will fail as a protective material rapidly whatever is in rupes has some durability.
@@ForensicDetailing 🤙 cheers
Rupes Uno corrects far better
Jesus I’m turning into a detailing anorak 😂😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
hah :) its like the tractor beam in star wars :)
Would be good to see how you get on with your search for these type of products,
I coat my own car but may look to try something like this on the girlfriends, let’s me play with products and will get me using the new Rupes that I forked out for 😂
Hang on John, how can it be 'Epic' but have flaws? 😂😊
over 2 units of gloss higher is significant specially when rupes and jesscar are also serious brands. good hydro performance. very very very good price. But the buff kills it :( and the chem hit killed it to. so yer.
@@ForensicDetailing OK. I'm not trying to score points here. I get all the positives, but would you use it as your number one choice of any all in one on the market? Pretty much everything I have in my garage product wise has been purchased after watching all your hard work/content testing on this channel. Been with you for a several years now on this journey. I'm very analytical (much like yourself) in fact we share many traits. Just asking/saying is it really Epic? 👍🏻
no i would not use this personally.
I love S20 Black but its a pig to remove i find.
Great products though.
I dont find that. we did a car in it the other day. its really important to work with really really clean pads with s20. or else it can bed down. Ive seen it bed down as well so yes it can happen. but use less shake the hell out of it. clean the pad. keep the sets a bit shorter. if it feels oily on the panel after the set it should come off.
Please do not do chemical tests, we do not in real life, but do a ph neutral wash x 10 👍🏻😊
It does not matter as long as it's the same detergent used. It's a yardstick to introduce deg. It's not a real life test. 10xph neutral is simply slower Deg.
