    Thanks for taking the time to show us. One of the reasons I love my KLR so much

    Excellent! Thank you, brother. Just went through the same exercise with my "new" 1995 KLR250. No freaking idea where that adjustment was. But sure enough, it was exactly like yours.

    Awesome. I was looking for this. I have a 1997 and it was exactly the way you demonstrate it. Took me one minute to change the damping settings, something I never managed to find before (in three years). Thank you very much, Sir!

    Hey, man! Great tips! Both videos I think solved my 1970's Cadillac El Dorado feeling suspension! Haha. No more water bedding it down the street! I was worried I had to buy a new shock. Looking forward to the ride to work tomorrow!

    Thanks for this video-- you saved me what probably would have been a couple of frustrating hours on a sunny Saturday afternoon!

    the dampen adjustment is for the shock rebound witch is how foast the shock rebounds try this set it one 1 it leave the cover off push down on the back of the bike take note how it feels now ste it on 4 push down on the bike again you will see what i mean then figure out where u want it hope this helps

    Thanks, I think we covered it pretty well. I just got back from a ride. I can feel the difference with the setting on 3, however I am not sure if I like it. I may try 2 but will at least wait a few days.

    Yea I figured that lol, I've been watching your vids on the klr for a bout an hour now and your accent sounded different then I realized you don't have one to me because I have the same accent haha. I'm a yinzer though, I haven't heard you say that yet in your vids.

    Ive noticed when I drive my '87 KLR ona a bumpy tarmac road in lean position, that the rear tyre goes slippery on the road. It was set on 1, Im about 175 pounds and the difference when I set it to dumping 2 is big. Theres no more slippin on back tyre due to lesser dumping setting. On a tarmac I would suggest less dumping that means higher setting 2 or 3 to keep you drive safelly. Greets

      +Viktor Zh So a heavier rider would want the shock at a higher number?

    • @The_Touring_Jedi
      @The_Touring_Jedi 8 років тому

      +Shaine MacDonald Higher number for heavier rider. Correct.

      I wanted to lower my KLR 650 because I'm a bit too short for it and the mechanic told me to dampen the spring. Not sure if I want to fuck around with it though.

    the 2008 have an adjustment on the bottom right side of the shock. it takes a flat blade screw driver to adjust.

    If I put the damper on 4 would I be able to have a second rider, I weigh 220 plus 150 for the other rider so 370 lbs would that be too much weight for a klr250

  • @Meekerextreme
    @Meekerextreme 11 років тому

    That does not mean its clicking the internals to the correct setting by going the WRONG way. Or possible good for the internals to be clicked int he wrong direction.

  • @ericadams6349

    Does that adjust compression or rebound damping?

  • @AddieCruzJr
    @AddieCruzJr 11 років тому

    ngI thought my klr250 would be similar but I was wrong. If you have a klr250 there should be a special tool in the toolkit.the tollnis used to adjust a locknut and a nut thatdamlensnthe spring.

    Doesn't know how to count and turns the knob opposite of the arrow. I'd be surprised if you still have all your fingers after playing with fireworks.
