I like that he acknowledge the fact that Marc has "the genetics" to sound like Freddie, because that is something i think many people analysing covers leave out. It's basicly the same with voices - Marc has a very similar "tool" as freddie (you can even see it in his jawline), and because of that he is able to sound this similar to him! 👍 (...with a LOT of training and effort on top of that genetics of course)

I actually have had the same thought about Marc being 'better" than Freddie, but then when I see Queen's concerts and the kind of frenzy and energy behind Freddie's delivery, it explains why his vocals were not 'recoding' quality. It seems to me that Freddie's intention was not to deliver perfect vocals but to deliver the most passionate performance ever every concert. They are coming to Detroit, MI this spring. I’m totally filled with anticipation can’t wait to experience their music run through my body. 😍
Marc has done a video about how he sings like Freddie. #1 tip was genetics. But he went into more detail about how Freddie used every aspect of resonance and you have to be comfortable with things like moving your voice forward and back in the vocal track while singing a note. He credits his sound to genetics, vocal placement and learning to sing words with Freddie's accent.
As I worked with him, I understood that there is no pop/rock singer like him today.. Also he is one and only MUSICIAN in pop/rock.. LOVE MARC AND HIS VOICE!!
I don’t know if that’s just how he sings or if he’s trying to sing in a similar style to how Freddie sang but it’s undeniable how crazy talented either way. If he’s just singing in his normal style than probs to him because it sounds so beautiful and if he’s trying to sing like Freddie that can’t be an easy thing to do.
As I said, his voice is an entire orchestra. Talented Human. His body is featured to sing that way. Every centimetre of his inside and outside makes him a singer of that kind!
What people have to remember is that in order to refine and stick this performance, Martel would have had the awesome opportunity to hear multiple instances of Freddie's raw studio tracked performances for this undertaking-- a phenomenal job, to say the least! It's not easy to hear, say 5 or 6 (possibly a boat load more), well-done tracks by a great singer and then put together an amalgam of the parts you're going to emulate in a single track for a very demanding fan audience from concerts, videos, and now film! Well done, Mr. Martel!
People really need to remember what they are questioning or assessing in terms of an original here. How many people have heard every single take of this song that Freddie did prior to performing it? How many times had he sung this in his concerts? How many vocal tracks did he lay down in the studio? Were they all EXACTLY alike???? The clear answer here is-- "No!" Marc has to work with a vocal amalgam of every known performance he could reference in order to create his own vocal composite of multiples from Freddie.
The thing is, you're probably right. He does everything Freddie did perfectly, but he ALWAYS hits the high notes, which Freddie never could do because if he did then his voice would go. But because Marc has a naturally higher voice, he can hit them everytime and his voice will be fine. Marc also has the ability to go higher than Freddie could, especially for longer periods. I'm not dissing Freddie because I prefer Fred but I'm just saying.
Marc was in a christian rock band for 13years he never heard freddie or queen. People kept telling him he sounded like freddie to he checked him out. Rodger heard him and contacted him to be in tribute band. He also did the singing in movie boh rap.
You o obviously dont know that he toured with queen for a while and he sang queens In the movie Bohemian Raspsody. Go research it. Proud of this french Canadian.
I had never heard Marc sing before, and I was completely blown away by how great he sounded!! I’m not any type of musician, but even I can understand how difficult Bohemian Rhapsody would be. Freddy had one of the greatest singin voices ever, so it must take some guts to try doing the song justice! But I was Like “holy fuck” Marc sounds ridiculously amazing!!
Freddie often modulated songs to fit his abilities live. Amazing singer yes, but the recordings were usually much better than the live performances (as far as vocal quality goes). I imagine we would be hard pressed though to find someone capable of singing AND performing like Freddie. This guy is just crazy good.
It's such a pleasure to watch people excel at what they're good at. It's somewhat troubling to add another thing to the long list of things I'll never live long enough to be good at.
@Lightbringer Marc's voice was used by queen in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie and the people who knew Freddie best (his bandmates) said that if they closed their eyes they would think Freddie was in the room listening to Marc. So your suggestion that he is just a bad impersonator is clearly wrong.
What better compliment could you get than somebody wanting to be just like you and singing as good as you let's not get into who's the best but it is the best compliment anybody could get
Try searching for the solo piano play by Freddie of Bohemian Rhapsody.. You will hear there where Marc's choice of tone comes from, he got it there and he nailed it perfectly.. such a talented singer and pianist..
Carl, you're absolutely right! Marc's performance in fact is only comparable to Queen's original recording. This is unbelievably meticulous in so many ways revolving around the vocals .,., don't even get me started with his playing performance on the piano .,., My God! I will say that this serves as an exceptional example of how a performer demonstrates ultimate and true respect to Freddie Mercury in ensuring every finite detail in a performance is rendered; in-turn, conveying the genuine emotion this piece so much deserves. Would love to see what Marc Martel could do with some of Steve Perry's music. All-in-all though, very nicely done.
Yeah, same with all the people who react to Bohemian Rhapsody "for the first time". Uh-huh. Heck, there is some person who claims to be a "music producer" and has uploaded such a clip. Fucking lame indeed.

As I worked with him, I understood that there is no pop/rock singer like him today.. Also he is one and only MUSICIAN in pop/rock..
LOVE MARC AND HIS VOICE!!
No offense but if I had a voice coach I'd want it to be Marc Martel.
I dont get how its offensive im too dumb...
Dane Venus's yt channel because the author of this video is a vocal coach
@@starman8853 i know that m8 but idk how its offensive if he really wants marc martel as a vocal coach
@@gabby6993 mostly when people say no offense it's not really too offensive anyways, but it's because he would choose Marc instead since he's better
@@starman8853 okk thanks for telling me m8 👌👌
Marc is spot on ...that's a difficult tune to sing too ! I really don't know why Queen does'nt have him instead of Lambert ? ? ?
0:11 "Now this particular song is daunting even for the great singers-, even for amazing singers." Totally agree. Instant sub. ^o^
He is such an incredible musician and wonderful singer. Freddie is back again. Marc just blows my mind. Love him 💖
Absolutely mesmerising, stunning Vocal.. He's way out on his own.. Marc Martel is amazing.
As I said, his voice is an entire orchestra. Talented Human. His body is featured to sing that way. Every centimetre of his inside and outside makes him a singer of that kind!
A better cover does not and will never exist again.
I'm seeing more and more of the reaction videos of Marc coming up, and that's a good thing.
Marc sounds like freddie naturally
What people have to remember is that in order to refine and stick this performance, Martel would have had the awesome opportunity to hear multiple instances of Freddie's raw studio tracked performances for this undertaking-- a phenomenal job, to say the least! It's not easy to hear, say 5 or 6 (possibly a boat load more), well-done tracks by a great singer and then put together an amalgam of the parts you're going to emulate in a single track for a very demanding fan audience from concerts, videos, and now film! Well done, Mr. Martel!
Marc covers a lot of the details to how he pulls off Freddie here: ua-cam.com/video/GQ0H7tZ_tZs/v-deo.html
Mark Martel IS THE BEST SINGER ALIVE!!!!
wow , calm down there. take it easy man.
True
The thing is, you're probably right. He does everything Freddie did perfectly, but he ALWAYS hits the high notes, which Freddie never could do because if he did then his voice would go. But because Marc has a naturally higher voice, he can hit them everytime and his voice will be fine. Marc also has the ability to go higher than Freddie could, especially for longer periods. I'm not dissing Freddie because I prefer Fred but I'm just saying.
@Lightbringer Thanks. Martel always sounds the best singing from his living room.
@Lightbringer If you're saying Marc sounds like shit you're basically saying Freddie sounds like shit
Marc was in a christian rock band for 13years he never heard freddie or queen. People kept telling him he sounded like freddie to he checked him out. Rodger heard him and contacted him to be in tribute band. He also did the singing in movie boh rap.
Marc Martel sensacional, artista completo, perfeito!!!!!!!
You o obviously dont know that he toured with queen for a while and he sang queens In the movie Bohemian Raspsody. Go research it. Proud of this french Canadian.
I love how vocal coaches all act like they know exactly what they’re dealing with and then come up with different answers
Marc is a natural tenor with an easy upper extension, but he’s obviously done his homework, the breathy vibrato is spot on
I've seen him do it live with an orchestra in Mexico, it's out of this world.
There's something about his nose. It's the way he breathes - that nasal quality - and that vibrato.
I really think when people die they give their blessings to someone else
Like freddie died and his voice is now in marc martel
Freddie reborn.....
OMG I booked ticket for later this year with no knowledge of just how amazing this guy is OMG heaven!
He sounds so clean it's insane
Freddie's Voice was one of a kind, there will be no one like him !!!
There is literally a video of someone sounding 99% like Freddie, just above your comment.
MrExcessum lol
Bill Colgrove oh ya
@Lightbringer Marc's voice was used by queen in the Bohemian Rhapsody movie and the people who knew Freddie best (his bandmates) said that if they closed their eyes they would think Freddie was in the room listening to Marc. So your suggestion that he is just a bad impersonator is clearly wrong.
I agree with every comment on this page. This guy is a talent that is just god given. I want to hear some originals now..............I am a fan
go listen to his album Impersonator, all original, all him.
Marc Martel is the best Freddie Mercury ever!! Wish the band ask him to tour with them.
AMAZING!!!! Close your eyes and it's Freddie!!!!
What a great review. As Marc deserves.
Marc is just super fantastic so much talent 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻💕
What better compliment could you get than somebody wanting to be just like you and singing as good as you let's not get into who's the best but it is the best compliment anybody could get
This is crazy!!
* He sing like Freddie
* He looks like Freddie
* He has a piano skill like Freddie
* He talk like Freddie
I think Freddie is alive...
I am amazed at his wonderful diction he has . Understood every word
Genetics? Haha.....hmmm very interesting. Queen World Tour Montreal 1976. Marc was born in 1976 in Montreal.....hmmmmmm.
Cliff Riley They didn’t go to montreal in 1976
@@chaseharlann Thanks I realized after doing more research. I was wrong but I appreciate you input. I believe it was 1981.
Cliff Riley The show was 11/24/81 and 11/25/81 in Montreal both nights were used in the official releases
Doesn't mean some woman didn't travel to Chicago/Pittsburgh/LA and go to a show in 76. Doesn't make it impossible at all.
But they performed the live aid performance in 1985 he could've seen it on TV
This is one HELL of a reaction video Sr! I enjoyed your input all throughout.
So many "vocal coaches" these days... and everyone is commenting the same thing... just to ear few bucks on youtube... lame
that's true
maybe it is because those "vocal coaches" COMMENTING on the the SAME video
@@haikalt.9279 i'm saying they are doing that because of the movie and because it's popular thing to do now.
Yeah, same with all the people who react to Bohemian Rhapsody "for the first time". Uh-huh. Heck, there is some person who claims to be a "music producer" and has uploaded such a clip. Fucking lame indeed.
@KUNIUMI dude I'm saying that everybody now after the movie is reacting to some of Queen perfomance... why didn't they done it ages ago... since Queen is around for a long time. All I'm saying everybody is doing the same thing these day because they now they will get likes and people commenting on their react... over and out.
This is my favorite cover ever!
