The era before 1990s was the Golden period of Hindi songs and music. Lyrics were very soulful and touched your Heart with slow, melodious music to enhance the "feel" of the song.
You simply cannot be a true lover of Music if you don't regularly listen to songs of the Golden era. Sadly, with passage of Time Soulful songs became rare; although the 1990s itself had several good songs and melodious music.
