The only thing I hated in this fight is that Ruby, Weiss and Blake didn't use the guns version of their weapons, it would've atleast done something to help out Penny
That's cause Penny's already an experienced huntress and is focusing on that that rather than relying on her Maiden powers. I also like that she's using a wind tunnel like Fria did. She learns quick.
Also Amber most likely didn’t know the previous Fall Maiden, if you watch V3 you see that the way Cinder mimics the way Amber used the maiden powers against her, Mercury and Emerald. It seems to be a “monkey see, monkey do” kind of thing since Penny uses her maiden powers as she saw Fria use them last volume
If you ignore how Marrow could've easily ended the fight from the get-go and how the best huntsmen and huntresses in Atlas couldn't win against a girl who only recently got the Maiden power when Cinder Mercury and Emerald were able to defeat Amber on their own sure.

Plus harriets infused weapon and semblence can give her a crazy amount of strength, she still struggled to pull though. I get the confusion but to me it makes sense that she was the one who could pull it, I could be missing some info though that may convince me otherwise
The fight choreography is pretty good, but I have a few complaints. 1. I’m not a fan of how they portrayed Penny using the Maidan powers. She looks like she’s already has a good grasp on how to use them, which doesn’t make sense since she only got them recently and I don’t know how she found the time to practice using them. 2. The excuse that the Ace Ops where holding back in their first fight is both laughable and straight up untrue. The only one holding back was Marrow. Everyone else made it super clear to team RWBY that they weren’t going to hold back and considered them to be traitors. This is just a very weak attempt from the writers to address the criticism from the fans about how that fight panned out. 3. There’s a lot of very slow moments during the fight. A lot of people just standing their and doing nothing. Vine especially. They should have animated him doing an action pose when he’s not fighting perhaps show is him preparing to do something in the background. 4. Marrow, just like in the first fight, should have just used his semblance to end the fight quickly. His ability is to stop time. It shouldn’t matter how physically storing his opponent is, time is absolute. Also, even is he can’t hold it for to long, it should only take a second for one of his other teammates to restrain Penny (as well as the members of team RWBY during the first fight).
I agree on Penny using the Maiden abilities too soon, but there's enough information that PROVES that the Ace-Ops were holding back (plus, you know...logic:/).
A lot of people overestimate Marrow’s semblance, it’s broken but it still has its drawbacks. Every time he uses his semblance he points in the direction of the person and says stay but who’s to say Penny can’t easily fly out of the direction he points at? And in volume 7 when he fought Weiss he only used his semblance twice (Weiss and her knight) before it tired him out, and literally one hit from Weiss broke his aura after. I don’t think his semblance is as broken as people make it seem as it definitely has its pros and cons.
I think Marrow prefers to use his Semblance opportunistically when an opening is present. Besides, we saw in his duel with Weiss that he continues to use it rapidly it can drain his aura level
what happened to their landing stradgety. they really made weiss and blake useless while falling... same with Jaune and yang the next ep... this is getting pathetic honestly
Wth is Jaime supposed to do, sure, Weiss has her Glyphs and Blake can just jump off her shadow clone, Yang can propel herself up with her gauntlets, but all Jaune can do is bounce off the ground with his sword

I think Penny's responses to impacts or stimulus is too human. I knew a girl who had developed the ability to not feel pain for a few years when I was a kid. She was essentially a scarecrow tied in front of a bullet train until she could feel pain again. Nothing stopped her, she was bold, and she didn't have to think about anything before she did it, so she didn't. She went flying off of the playground's tire swing, destroyed half her face, had scrapes down both her arms and really tore up her upper thigh, didn't grunt or squeal, (but she did make a surprised sound when she initially let go) and jumped up, didn't even look at her injuries, and tried to get back on. If I'm being honest, while my the rest of the kids ran to go get her dad, I cried with another older girl while she just laughed and bragged how it hurt. I eventually got used to it, because she became somewhat of a showoff until she got surgery to remedy this. My point, no pain (with consideration to force, injury, and stamina) equals inhuman recovery times and something less bothersome to worry about. Penny fights too much like a human, and her responses to stimulus (like Nora's electrified hammer or being hit) are too human as well.
Penny fights like NU/ Lambda from Blazblue and I absolutely love it ! She rocks ! So much for having Penny pegged right from the start, Harriet. Harriet got owned ! ;-)
It's not as OP as everyone thinks though. It's direction-based meaning it wouldn't fare well against people who can unleash multi-directional AOE attacks (like Weiss). He's also got a limit as well
Marrow: "We were holding back!... which is why I won't act like a dumbass any more and actually use my broken powers from the start" *RWBY if written by competent writers*
Just because a character is not reliant on their semblance no matter how broken doesn’t mean they are a dumbass. How would you have continued the story exactly? They got apprehended they got arrested. Put into a jail cell. Winter would have got killed. JNR would get captured. Now what is your approach to season 8.
@@tyrian5653 "How would you have continued the story exactly?" Here's a brilliant new concept! How bout NOT create such a broken ass power in the first place if it creates so many plot holes! Not sure if this has already been addressed, but Marrow telling them that they were holding back isn't literal. I don't know how to explain it, but it probably meant that he knew they were bested and so he was trying to justify themselves being beaten out of embarrassment.

Ruby,Weiss and Blake didn't need to hold on to each other like that Ruby can use her like petal burst thingy weiss can use her semblance to create platforms and blake can use her shadow clones to either pull her or her jump on them but its still a cool fight
Wait a minute, how did penny learn to control her power in one day, Raven and Cinder had to train to fully control theirs.
It must be something where once you get the maiden powers it's second nature. She can use these powers but it's obvious it isn't super strong yet, as we've seen with other maidens.
@@GlitchyPresident is that how they really work
@@niathebrave7729 It's just my assumption based on what the show gives me. Training and experience is still important. I imagine it's like suddenly knowing all the words of language you don't know, you can use the words, sure, but using them correctly is going to take time and practice. It sounds strange ik but I hope you understand what I mean.
@@GlitchyPresident it's still weird but okay, I do hope penny does train like them
She's a robot. Robots don't learn fast than humans, as people said??
Imagine Ozpin with his magic plus all four maiden powers
That's Ozma's original power, which is equal to Salem's current power.
The music is a epic ass bangerific banger
penny's strings are supposed to be strong. how come harriet just pulled it out so easy?
Ikr
Maybe it's something penny can do selectively. Like if one gets caught on something she can make the wire snap so she doesn't get seriously damaged or captured. Though it's most likely RT with more of it's swiss chease level writing 🤣.
@@elisonholace4033 "damaged/captured" bro penny could literally carry an arena and pull a platform.
Harriet's weapon is dust infused to give her super strength you can even see it light up when starts to pull on it
@@ryusoongi7416 You forget, the platform still had some undamaged "Pillars" (I'mma call them pillars because I can't figure out what it is in english)
And when she used her swords, she could only really hold it in place, barely even, which is why she had to freeze the ones that were slowly melting so the platform would'nt fall in the end, since I think it is still heavier than she can hold.
Plus harriets infused weapon and semblence can give her a crazy amount of strength, she still struggled to pull though. I get the confusion but to me it makes sense that she was the one who could pull it, I could be missing some info though that may convince me otherwise
PENNY IS SO AWESOME!
Seems to be a recurring thing, ppl just standing there in a middle of a fight. Wouldn't be the first time it happened, and it's far from the last.
I agree on Penny using the Maiden abilities too soon, but there's enough information that PROVES that the Ace-Ops were holding back (plus, you know...logic:/).
Remember when people fucking teleported in vol 3 qrow vs winter? Good times
In response to no. 2: Or it was an excuse given by the Ace Ops to save face
Wait wait wait so he can make a maiden stay and he waited till the end to use it bro really
I think Marrow prefers to use his Semblance opportunistically when an opening is present. Besides, we saw in his duel with Weiss that he continues to use it rapidly it can drain his aura level
Daryl Franklin, Jr. I get what your saying but I think marrow really be bugging
@@darylsdesigns6679 Yeah I don't mind that though he did have one while they were arguing
Why build all that tension the draw of weapons and everything if your just going to do that. That’s boring
what happened to their landing stradgety. they really made weiss and blake useless while falling... same with Jaune and yang the next ep... this is getting pathetic honestly
Wth is Jaime supposed to do, sure, Weiss has her Glyphs and Blake can just jump off her shadow clone, Yang can propel herself up with her gauntlets, but all Jaune can do is bounce off the ground with his sword
I see it as symbolism that they are going to fall that’s atlas will undoubtedly fall. Cause those types of falls happened a lot.
they knew ruby was gonna use her semblance to bring them back up
Nora went super saiyan xD
Harriet: gets her ass unquestionably trounced the hardest in a 4v1 fight.
Also Harriet: grins like she actually has something to be smug about after getting her ass unquestionably trounced the hardest in a 4v1 fight.
The dude coulda just said stay at like the beginning tho when everyone just standing still
Me as someone who's never watched RWBY: Oh hey this series looks interesting, might check it out
Me after hearing that RT doesn't really care about RWBY anymore: Well shite
Edit: To clarify, I had seen many youtubers and fans comment on how Rooster Teeth didn't really care about RWBY anymore, and got that impression as a result. Correct me if I'm wrong, perhaps my information is incomplete.
??
Huh?????? Tf r u talking about?
@@msnavy97 I got the impression from many youtubers and fans that Rooster Teeth didn't care about the RWBY series anymore, and I was disappointed because it looked pretty cool. I was also informed that a few of the volumes (4 and 5 specifically) were not very good.
@@dragonfell5078 Ok yeah the YT critic community around this series is actual cancer.
The show is only getting more funding and resources and is by far and large RoosterTeeth’s most popular series.
Volume 5 is definitely a low point in the series but volume 6 and 7 are fantastic. And volume 8 is looking great so far.
@@cbhensoncbhenson5515 Ah, I see. Should I check it out?
Harriet got owned ! ;-)
How did you record this? The quality seems to be off.
Love how Harriet keeps eating shit after stating that they're the "best huntsmen in Atlas" Are you sure Hare? Are you sure~
They are. They were nerfed in the last volume's end, and now they're LITERALLY fighting one of the most powerful entities in the world:/
Damn, they couldn't handle Team RWBY and they're barley holding their own against Penny.
If only they had some "luck" on their side 🍀
Sadly, Penny had to pay the price of "losing", even with the maiden power. Wish to see the fight ending in a different way.
They could've easily defeated team RWBY but couldn't because the girls had plot armor.
Marrow's semblance is too OP
Meh. I've seen way more OP things than that.
Shame he doesn't use it much like when the rally got attacked or vs weiss
It's not as OP as everyone thinks though. It's direction-based meaning it wouldn't fare well against people who can unleash multi-directional AOE attacks (like Weiss). He's also got a limit as well
@@jamesrobson8308 he used it on weiss...she exploited its weakness
@@maiseree1511 It mostly not OP because Marrow is too stupid to use it when opportunities arise.
Comparado a cinder a Penny levou a surra
Marrow: "We were holding back!... which is why I won't act like a dumbass any more and actually use my broken powers from the start"
*RWBY if written by competent writers*
Just because a character is not reliant on their semblance no matter how broken doesn’t mean they are a dumbass. How would you have continued the story exactly? They got apprehended they got arrested. Put into a jail cell. Winter would have got killed. JNR would get captured. Now what is your approach to season 8.
@@tyrian5653 "How would you have continued the story exactly?"
Here's a brilliant new concept! How bout NOT create such a broken ass power in the first place if it creates so many plot holes! So broken in fact that if your character has to take dumbass pills to suddenly not use said broken ass power, then you clearly fucked up the writing process!
If this fight was power level consistent: 0:09 - 2:13 would be cut out.
Not sure if this has already been addressed, but Marrow telling them that they were holding back isn't literal. I don't know how to explain it, but it probably meant that he knew they were bested and so he was trying to justify themselves being beaten out of embarrassment.
So many things wrong with this fight
Tell me a few things
Like what?
why didnt that dog just use stay from the start?
Couldnt she just send three swords at each of them while blowing ice at them
Ok ok I just have one BIG PROBLEM 1:22 to 1:46 I'll let all of u figure it out because it's pretty easy to see (I'll give you a hint It has to deal with elm)
Oh she never performs the hammer swing she was gearing up to
Omg I wonder if we’re thinking the same thing. How Elm is on the other side of the bridge and then is suddenly behind Penny at 1:46?
Oh that. She threw the hammer at penny. Yea that was quick to miss.

Eh this fight was... passable, I guess.
Awful. Just... awful. The ending was so lazy and with much nonsense. If only the battle ended in a different way, there could be nothing to say about. But the battle was a total crap.
Penny had the victory but guess what?
*Yes. The fucking bad writing. The battle isn't worth to watch again.*
Out of curiosity, what would you have done differently? Or what would have made it better for you specifically
How would have you ended the battle exactly? How exactly does that explain bad writing. They weren’t able to apprehend penny they missed their shot. So instead of exerting that energy again watts said a better way. Which favored his malicious intents and ironwood disabling penny
Naah, thier choreography are just bad. Waste of movement that not connect combo.
