    My kitten so enjoyed Timmy showing off his jumping skills - he followed all Timmy's movements and then put out his paw to try and catch him on the screen. So sweet and funny! Good luck on the new build!

    Mollie is a biscuitarian and needs biscuits to survive!! 😄 You two are such great examples of being willing to do the hard work of surviving off-grid, as well as using the materials of the land to create needed structures! Well done! It is also such a joy to watch the antics of Molly and Timmy...so adorable!

    For the earth shelter, outside and inside finishing, make a cob mixture of soil, hay, water and if you have access to horse manure add that too. Mix in batches and apply by hand.

    Timmy so cute with his antics. Love how Luke comes up with great ideas to use as many materials on your land to build. Super idea about the pig House, I'm sure it will look amazing.
    Sarah your such a grafter guess that's why all the hard work you both put in pays off. 💚

    Like the idea of an earth bag house for the pigs. You both work so hard at anything you do. The trenches are looking perfect for the bags. You had a lot of wood to gather and take to the caravan, you will need more. Not so sure of a wild bore breeding to your pigs. Don't know what you will have. But it will depend of the use of the piglets for buyers. Cute story about the pigs.

  • @markcallaghan843
    @markcallaghan843 7 місяців тому +4

    They are some serious footings for a pig house! When the world ends there will just be cockroaches and your pig house left!! Once they are compacted properly the bags won’t shrink. The successful builds I’ve seen have used cob as a base layer and some sort of lime mix as finish coat. I’m sure whatever you do the pigs will be happy.

    If you want to see someone build earth bag buildings you should take a look at Kris Harbour Natural Building UA-cam channel as he built two huge ones, mostly by hand, if you haven't looked at that already. (In Wales, so presumably waterproof!)
    Isn't the soil proof fabric meant to be wrapped around the perforated drainage pipe when you build a French drain, to keep all the earth and dust out from everywhere, including stuff being carried by the water? Or something!
    Anyway, what back breaking hard work. I hope the pigs like it! 😁

Luke admitting that women also have a good eye for building stuff 🤪 it was probably to dark to see... but are you sure it was a male boar ? I thought you were meant to get 3 piglets from Cindy? Have you thought about always taking a wheelbarrow with you on your daily walk, it could hold your backpack when leaving and bring it back once a day full of wood or bits would have your wood shed full all year.
