I love how scenes inside the boat kind of felt like a war room
How is Chief Brody underwritten? We understand why he's in Amity and we discover some characteristics about him through the writing.
Maybe this is why they didn't do a Critics Picks for a Kieslowski film.
so 70s-ish. but that's what makes it great
Great review. :)
Peter Quint? I didn't know Quint had a first name. I thought he was always just called "Quint" in the book and in the film as well.
Steve Ahab?
My favorite movie of All Time!!!
Jaws works because you cannot see the shark until later on in the film. It wasn't even meant to be that way lol.
@mistacramer - "I wonder where he picked "Peter" from as a first name." He read the screenplay. :)
Greatest movie ever made.
@clydebarrow34 - It's odd, I left that original comment over a year ago, and just an hour ago I borrowed the movie Jaws from my uncle. I haven't seen the movie in years, you see. Anyway, it was a very strange coincidence that you replied to that comment of mine....don't you think?
Also, I was just joking around. I still shower.
I wanted the shark to win.
I thought his name was Sam Quint
JAWS is the reason I stopped taking baths....and showering.
People kind of stay away from me because of the smell. And I can't seem to hold down a job.
I guess you could say that movie kind of ruined my life.
Jurassic Park wasn't a horror film. It was a bunch of animatronic dinosaurs eating characters because they were hungry and being dinosaurs.
Jaws kinda annoys me. It started the trend of shitty summer movies as well as inciting a whole bunch of shark paranoia, which really wasnt speilburg's intention obviously. Cujo didnt make people afraid of strays, but still this movie had a large impact on our culture
Most of the time, the reason a film makes such an impact is because of how genuinely great it is. It's just that sometimes, when it a lot of times, today, when it comes to blockbusters, executives and filmmakers can forget why it was so great in the first place.
I like the novel better, but the film's good.
Jaws aint real, bro. Its those crocs you gotta worry about. And that lightning.
LazarusRox Even though I sense some facetiousness, you are probably right. I read somewhere that we have a 90% chance of survival when in close range of a great white where we have a 90% chance of death if in close range of a "salty."
the best flm ever(after avatar)
This is what Spielberg was capable of before he lost his mind :P
Exactly how did Spielberg lose his mind? He looks sane to me.
