The Wilhelm Scream is more than just a sound effect, it's part of traditional movie culture passed down from movie to movie. It's part of the cycle of life.
It's weird how it always feels slightly out of place these days in most modern and some older films, but the first use of it seems to work extremely well.

It has gotten a bit crazy, but still one of my favorite sound effects. It being so stupid and goofy is part of what I like about it. But I don’t think it needs to be used in many modern films. It definitely fits certain ones more than others.

There's an "ooof!" that pops up repeatedly, too. Usually when somebody falls down. And, for the record, there's a kind of metallic "zing" used far too often when anybody draws a sword. Or a dagger. Or a bowie knife. Or any kind of knife including butter and putty. Or a screwdriver. Or a letter opener. Or tweezers. Or a golf club. I swear I heard it when somebody removed a kebab skewer. "Got a paper clip?" "Sure!" Zing. I don't care where that sound comes from. I just want it to stop.
@@megazoned3973 I get it. But, really, there is one specific zing I hear over and over and it's so overused it's hilarious. Somebody pulls a screwdriver out of a tool belt... Zing!
