Dear Nigel,
When one looks in close at the fuselage it is no wonder that this becomes a challenging project in its later stages. Johnsons, tweakers and greeblies aplenty and no mistake!!
Nicely done!
Regards,
Z
What an eye-catching centrepiece. 😍 So many things to see. I keep trying to peer into the cockpit to take in all the detail. Good job Nigel. 👍🏻👍🏻
This is my favorite build of yours Nigel. I’m gobsmacked by the attention to detail and the beautiful finish. Well done sir. I sent you a couple of images with you posing with the finished model. Hope you enjoy them. Cheers mate and woof to Jess.
Brilliant looking chopper there Nigel. Another great build completed to an outstanding finish. Well done.
Nigel this is just a extremely stunning build !!!! Thank you for the inspiration with this build much respect to you 😎👌👍
hi Nigel, The Skycrane turned out amazing! Beautiful work sir! Thanks fir sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Beautiful Bird & Build - never really dealt with the Tarhe during my service, but I DO get to see one several times a year - there are several contract birds doing wildland firefighting - a really cool tank suspended - with a hose to suck in water from lakes, and then dump it on pesky fires.
Definitely a gold medal at the next competition
Great video my friend wow the sky crane turned out stunning from the first parts been glued together to the final steps it as been a pleasure to watch all the hard work is well worth it with the final result thanks so much for sharing your experience 👍👍
No chance for a simple critic , thanks for this awsome job Nigel 👌👏👏👏👏👏👏
And the master of the fine details has done it again 👍that looks absolutely stunning Nigel 🫡
I so do envy your ability to pay such great attention in order to achieve this magnificent authentic detail. Another great build Nigel. Nice photos at the end too! Thank you for sharing your expertise with us wannabes.
It's amazing how much artistic sense he's got. When I do a wash,it looks like it went through a class of kindergarten kids with water colors!!
Cracking job Nigel!! Hope you've got the space to store it! I'm looking forward to watching your next build!
Turned out beautiful. Want to see your next model build, which has to be perfect
Hi Nigel another excellent build video, can always rely on your build videos for inspiration for our next project, well done mate.
Beautiful workmanship there Nigel. Still waiting for it to show up in Canada.
Bravo! A sublime build and outstanding result Nigel. BZ!
Those black doors on the nose worked out great! Really appreciate the droop on the rotor blades as well. Proper job as always Nigel
Hi Nigel, a heartly congratulations on a job very well done, bext regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍👍👍
beautiful model mate! Damn that thing is huge ....o'er missus!
Like your choice of music for the final reveal photos. Excellent modelling job as well!
Great result there Nige! What a fabulous looking kit. 🙂
Hi Nigel your helicopter is bloody awesome what a beast it's just amazing buddy. Cheers Gary 🇬🇧
Thank you Gary
Nice job on the whole thing. Its such agreat canvas to go crazy on weathering wise. I used to see these in Alaska as a kid flying around. I remember one being all red and another a light blue with white stripes. They were pretty beat up.
Absolutely superb Nigel , that's next level modelling 😍
Now that Nige is a stunning build mate! I wish I had the space to build and display this monster. I Hope the release a Jolly Green Giant in the same scale. Bravo mate!
Regarding the clear part / tail light / sprue connections etc...indeed, they obviously don't perform design or assembly reviews like we do in engineering! Looks really nice that build!!
I would happily review their cad models before they cut the tooling. Not as bad as Takom with the sprue connectors running onto the front face of the part, normally in between two rivets!
Simply stunning Nige! Especially the engine/exhaust metal work finish
Outstanding build Nigel it one impressive kit the Skycrane👍🏆👏
What an awesome build well done Nigel really enjoyed watching you great end reveal
Absolutely fabulous work Nigel 👌⭐️
What a great build Nigel have enjoyed the whole series.
I like that it doesn't have too much weathering. I'm a fan of a cleaner look.
Congratulations Nigel; really impressive build, and looks fantastic.🎯
Nige
Awesome build - fantastic work
Peter
N8gel, it turned out beautiful. Alway impressed by your work
Hey Nigel
My ICM Tarhe is jealous. Especially since I haven’t started it. Absolutely beautiful even if it is a distressed Vietnam bird. Well done
Mike
Get your Tarhe out of her boxes, put her together and enjoy!!
Well done, Nige, fabulous job. That kit is just crying out for a diorama setting. Looks like a Jurassic dragonfly on your car roof!
Bloody Awesome! Great work Nigel! Cheers mate!
Hi Nigel - You have brought this "Magnificient Beast" to life...The cockpit detail & huge rotors are impressive - the only thing missing is some cargo...👍
Incredible piece of work. I can only look on in amazement! Brilliant!
What a beast! Difficult to understand the sheer size until your hand appears in shot. Lovely job Nigel 🎉
Those masks that give you the rubber gasket look around the windows are definitely worth the effort. Fantastic build, strong finish. Your MoJo must be dialed up to 11.
Yes William, those ASK masks are awesome!!
Wow the finished sky crane is so cool out of the box. Can't wait for the one with all the bits and bobs. Makes me homesick for the transportation museum at Ft Eustis Eustis
Very impressive finished item . Well done nige
Nigel, I am absolutely overwhelmed by the finished kit. If I could do work even 1/10 as well as you do, I would consider myself extraordinarily lucky. Really, really well done!! I'll have to see if I can summon the courage, and more importantly, the time to properly do it justice, before I tackle this kit - I hope to, but I can't be sure at this point.
You can do it Tron.. build along with me..
Super glue it to the car roof 😂, epic build
Wow - Struggling to find the adjectives to use - Simply Beautiful - Fantastic Attention to detail - I have the Apache AH.1 from Takom on pre-order so am watching your latest build series with interest.
Nige id have thrown that at the wall long before now, well done thats a hell of a build
Wow! Fantastic Nige, so impressive.
Excellent build Nigel.
Very nice. Love it. Thank you for sharing.
no other words available: Stunning, Nigel!!! Dane
WOW.. lost for words.. simple magnificent
Awesome. Thanks for a great build and associated tips to make it a great build.
That turned out brilliant Nigel - you did it your usual modeling art justice.
Well done Nige, another finished kit👍👍👍
Awesome Job Nigel! Love it!
Well done, amazing (and huge) kit.
Super work Nigel, and congratulations on completion of this build! It looks the part and the video series has been really enjoyable (coming from someone who usually isn't that interested in helicopters!). Hope you're pleased with the work you have done!
Looks wonderful! Congratulations!
You’ve knocked this well and truly out of the park Nige. What a brilliant build, what a stunning kit.
Wow...the masking you did is flawless. Outstanding build. I mean that's a real clean build.
You can thank ASK for that masking quality.
Absolutely stunning build Nige, picked up lots of tip n tricks on this one👌🫡👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What an absolutely awesome looking machine, pity about the spider webbing in the rear starboard canopy otherwise perfect you must be really proud of it I envy your skills. Looking forward to the next kit
Yeah! Tremendous Nige, a true master of your craft Sir. If I was half as good as yourself I'd be happy, you continue to inspire me to be better at what I try to do. Thank you and love to Jess. 🍻
Thank you David
Really looks the part!
We always know it's going to look awesome when it's finished. We can never guess which kits are going to actually get finished. By the way, the music over the photos should definitely have been Ace of Blades by Rotorhead.
Very nicely done !
Beautiful finish!
Extremely interesting and great job
She looks great!!
Well done.
Amazing job👍👍
Very impressive build!
Fantastic build
Stunning build Nigel, absolutely gorgeous Skycrane ✨🎖✨

Very well done Nigel! Always impressed by your skill set!!!
Truly magnificent work!
fantastic job!
Great finish. I love the final look. Just the right amount of weathering. Where would you keep this monster?
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome.
This turned out great 👍
What a gorgeous finish to this project Nigel. It definitely shows a masters touch. While researching this project did you happen to run across the CH37 Mohave another heavy lifter. It was the piston engined predecessor of the Tarhe.
I'll check it out.
One heck of abuild
Your issue with the clear parts can be solved by using a hot knife/blade to separate the part, otherwise, 'clipping' or cutting the part free will cause minute shatter lines and make the part look unusable. OR, Create your own by stretching the clear spru. Then hold the cut end close to a flame until the 'bead' starts to form. Trying as many times needed until you get it right.
The issue i had was caused by the part breaking off the sprue in transit. i have explained many times the risk of cutting clear parts off the sprue and normally saw them off.
Hi Nigel I yesterday I took a lot of time to make a lIke on all the videos I have watched. I did not realize this would be of concern to you, but recently I heard you say somerthing to the effect it is a help too you.... BTW my cousin flew this big Chopper in the US Army, later he moved on to fix wing, flying the Grumman OV-1 Mohawk....
Dude. You da man
Not much to say.
This kit is impressive, the build is great.
By the way, i think this heli was an inspiration for the design of space eagles from Space 1999, or not?
Very nice!
Nice
Nice Nice Nice 👍👍
Hi Nigel, looking good. Can you tell me what the measurements are between the four hoists on the side of the airframe, odd question I know.
Roughly 135mm x 89mm Ian.
@@NigelsModellingBench cheers Nigel, much appreciated 😎
Epic. what music was that? It put me in an upbeat and chill mood.
That is called Got caught in Amsterdam by Arc de Soleil
@@NigelsModellingBench Thank you.
⭐
I cant decide whether or not id rather have the connection point on the face of the part or the unseen bit honestly...
I just had to glue these teeny tiny nav light lenses on a 1/144 DC-8 and the sprue connections were on the glue side of the lenses... well I lost two of those dumb things trying to sand out the sprue nib and attach them to the model, where if the sprue had been on the face I could leave a bit of the sprue on as a handle to attach them and then cut it off and polish them out.
If I leave it will be trouble, if I stay it will be double ;)
I know Riley.. these designers don't build models clearly!!
👍👍👏
