  • House on the rock was the dream of Alex Jordan Junior and Jacob the carpet bagger. He purchased the land on top of the rock in 1949. His plan was to Simply camp and picnic. In 1960 he had built a home that people were willing to pay to tour.

It's a great place to visit, lots of stuff to see. Unfortunately, they rake in a lot of money but don't do a lot of upkeep on the place. It needs a good cleaning, the machinery needs significant repair work. And it's not in Dodgeville, it's in Spring Green.

    WOW!! 😳😍very cool!!! Very amazing!
I LOVE THE LIBRARY & ALL THE STAINED GLASS & TIFFANY LAMPS! Was there a zip line?? Were the floors all stone too?? St, Nicholas & Buddha definitely sounds like an artist…needed some sky lights in there for some more natural light. I wouldn’t want to clean all those windows on that walkway 🤣…thanks for letting me live vicariously through you & AJ!

@@ExploreAmerica OH I can run with the first idea... It doesn't take 15 days! If you use the address for mailing your bank statements and a replacement copy of any state issued license/SS card or birth certificate, (you can also go online and do a Change of Address with the P0st 0ff!ce for $1) residents there aren't allowed to open your mail but the government will consider that your legal address... Park your off-grid RV in the lot and PRESTO! #SouthFloridaTips

The machine show at 7:58 is the Moon of Manakoora (or simply known as the Moon). The last time I saw that working was in 2006 (and I never saw it work any later but could have anytime until the Attraction officially decommissioned it by 2009). The snake used to rise out of the basket when the flute charmer played his flute (of course mechanically). The machine sadly broke due to the unheated climate and they are not having it fixed anytime soon unfortunately (unlike others that they have plans to fix if not fixed already). It augmented Martin Denny recordings with additive sound effects and percussion that were played onsite with snake charmer parts and harp interludes between songs. According to a knowledgeable employee I talked to, "a part of it lives on" and it is unclear exactly what she meant. All I can think of is she had to have been indirectly referring to the original Martin Denny record album itself (some of the instrumentation piped into the machine originally) which actually has a song titled "Moon of Manakoora" on it which Jordan decided to name this audio/mechanical creation (the album was since re-released by Capital Records in the music industry by 2010).

If you went back to watch a video that you watched a while back to finish it off that holds a lot of weight at UA-cam.
I do that with certain channels that I’m friends with Al taken three or four minutes of the video and then later that night or that week I’ll cross buy it again and finish it off knowing it’s a super boost because you came back

    Now it's too commercialized.
