- Karnataka Dialogues : Express Dialogues - a Mini Conclave - on the eve of the 18th Lok Sabha elections featuring a distinguished panel of thinkers, writers, and political analysts along with senior editors of TNIE was held on April 3 at The Capitol Hotel, Bengaluru.
The day began with its first session in conversation with the historian Dr. Vikram Sampath, author of several bestsellers including his latest work Waiting for Shiva: Unearthing the Truth of Kashi's Gyan Vapi which traces the long history of the Kashi Vishwanath temple. His career spans numerous awards and fellowships, including being a Writer-in-Residence at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and Sahitya Akademi’s first Yuva Puraskar. Along with being a celebrated writer, he is also trained as a Carnatic Vocalist. His varied interests in history and music has led him to establish the Foundation for Indian Historical and Cultural Research (FIHCR) to foster new research in Indian history and the Archive of Indian Music, India's first digital sound archive for vintage recordings.
Joining him in the session ‘Waiting for Shiva…The Hindu Narrative’ are Santwana Bhattacharya, the editor of the New Indian Express, with a career spanning over two and a half decades, predominantly focused on politics, parliament, elections, and policies and Deputy Resident Editor Nirad G Mudur shedding light on historical and contemporary narratives shaping India’s politics.

How beautifully & patiently Dr Vikram Sampath has dismantled the negative & prejudiced questions! Secularism, as has been practised since 1947, is anti-Sanatan Dharma & also appeasement of one particular religion! AUM.

Vikram sampath is very clear in his views
Vikram has a mesmerising style of writing and more of it, in narrating history, if also brings in the design and engineering / management aspects of history in , that will make it very interesting. The designers and engineers of history need acknowledged and celebrated, we glorify Shahjahans / Akbars / Kings and Queens; but hardly know anything of the Vishwakarmas ?
Listening to this lady speak was painful. Please, get to the point quickly and don't become defensive and whine. Thankfully, Dr. Sampath stood his ground and corrected her misstatements and beliefs in his non-confrontational way.
Fabulous podcast as always as expected with eurydite Vikram Sampath.The leftist lady was aptly put back in place by Dr Sampath.
For the gentleman who asked abt revised version histroy being baised again-rest assured, Dr Sampath is very good at cutting off emotional ties and therefore a right person to present unbiased histroy.
My Questions to Mr Sampath: what are his view abt supporting Veer Savarkar's vision about casteless society and What is his vision of Healed Hindutva ,when will the peace be finally made with the past,what according to him will heal Hinduism and far does it go?

Ghats were form of sewa done on part of various hindu rajas and ranis to facilitate the devotees to take the holy batha nd take ganga jal and offer it on shivaji it is all hindu religious practice ,ghats are not secular infra they have hindu religious character ,ghats exists because of religious practice in which sacred ganga plays a very real part.
The lady asking question is perhaps not a good public speaker as she find it very difficult to convey very simple answer or questions but going around and around taking it painstakingly long to listen to just to complete a simple question.
