- Still kind of getting used to this new coil on this metal detector and figured Id show you guys some of the controls on a Minelab SDC 2300. Didn't find much on this trip but that's about how most of my metal detecting outings usually go. If you are going to be a nugget shooter in New Mexico you might as well spend as much time as humanly possible to be successful. Still ended up being a great day!

Hey JBM yeah metal detecting over here isn't easy. There are plenty over here that say they find nuggets so I should at some point bring home some gold!
It is impossible to run a detector without headphones You will never learn what detector is saying to operate it without headphones.
I’ve got over 40 years have detector experience .
I hunt with some of the best if not the best detectors in the world and they cannot run a detector without headphones.
Think I need lessons can someone teach me how to run a Detector without headphones and still find gold.
@patdenney7046 I acually do use headphones most of the time but have no way to record the sounds through them on my GoPro as I don't have or use a mic. So typically when I shoot a video I don't use them so folks can hear the sounds. I hope all that makes sense but you do bring up a great point and I will make it a point on an upcoming video to emphasize your point and make sure I make a shot out to you for that! Thanks for the feedback it's been really good stuff much appreciated!
