I have been reading through some of the old clay magazines that I found online, I was amazed at how far back clay art has been around. I love these beautiful canes. Donna you are a fabulous teacher.
WOW! I have never made such an almost-perfect bead since you showed us this! You are amazing at figuring out how to get the best results for the most common techniques! Thanks again!
So much easier than what I’ve been doing. PS. I actually went outside to see if we had a big dog in our yard. Lol. I couldn’t understand why my little yappers weren’t barking at a dog barking outside. Good thing I had my headphones on. 😂😅
oh my god this method is amazing! yours is a bit abstract but if i had a say, pixel art image how much deformation would you get? is it minimal/none? I was thinking I would have to buy a circular punch and roll a cane to the desired diameter, and punch the same diameter out of the top/side, which would waste clay. i'm very keen on trying this though.I never thought to use a square cane. For reference, I want to make eyeballs, so having the front/back be the iris, i could just use white for the remaining 4 sides if this method works for me
Donna? Is that Louis? Or my next-door neighbor's dog?!?!? That was sooooooo funny! My two cats have run in and are sniffing the computer monitor!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!
Louis is a barking dog and he’s got a big voice! I love that softy. LOL, I think your sweet cats will be hearing more of good old, LouLou! Happy New Year! Hugs, D
Hi, I’m Rewatching this. Dumb question: since the heat of you hands warms the clay, can you microwave it at all, a few seconds, to get the same result? Thank you.
I fold mine in a heating pad sometimes. It works well. Just make sure it's on one of the lowest settings and check it every minute or two. It doesn't take very long.

Did I miss your tut with the sweet black butterfly ?
Hi Lynne! I think you mean the butterfly I made from a cane I didn’t like! Let me think where it is - it’s in a tute…☹️ i know it is but…where???❤️
@@DonnaKatoArt don’t give your brain more to decipher. It’s just a very sweet butterfly especially in the black & white. 💞
This is the comment I was looking for! I love that cane!😊
Perfekt

I don’t do that and I wouldn’t advise. I think I have heard of some doing that but not me! 😊

Great info. Just wish you didnt have a whistling booger in your nose as it was so noticeable with an ear bud in my ear.😅
Lol. I will try to do better but my sinuses give me some trouble!
