I know this video is like a year old but I've been in a music slump for a long ass time. Thanks to this video tho I just made a beat I actually like for the first time in a while! Thank you for that, honestly.
Yo bro I don’t usually comment on youtube videos but I just wanted to say thank you because you’ve been a big motivation and inspiration for me for like the past year and you get me back in the studio when I’ve lost motivation. I’ve also learned alot from your videos so I just want to say don’t stop making them, stay consistent and keep working hard you’re really impacting peoples lives and I mean that in a good way🙌🏼💯🐐
6:30 IS THAT MINECRAFT CHORD??? jk, its not directly from C418 but man, it hit me. I dont remember from which melody that chord is but it sometimes plays in minecraft. I can recognize some chords if i heard it in some other melody, not always, but it SLAPS with the force of a car.
i dont get a dark feeling to this more of a serenity and calming feeling could definitely listen to it while cruising i have a few beats i made that are just for vibing to
This is what happens when you hear sounds in your soul and you are capable of bringing it to life we are all capable with the correct knowledge and hands on learning thank you for sharing with us the knowledge and work that you have dedicated your time to
thank you for this I just started making beats and melodies is the hardest part for me im going to watch every video on your channel hopefully I can improve at least 10%
Hi, super helpful video, but could you tell me some of the hotkeys you use the most? Ones like invert, transpose up, cut, and especially what you use to mess with velocity. Thanks!
cntrl + left click (select a note) hold and drag to select more than one. Cntrl + up arrow or down arrow to jump octaves. Velocity moves (you can select specific notes or cntrl + A to select them all.. then Alt + mouse wheel to go up/down)
I’m definitely inspired but is there a way you can explain why you are doing what you are doing. After you did the scale run I was totally confused. Does the melody go with or against the chord progression. Are there any rules or do I just have to feel it and play it by ear. Because I can’t say this gives me an idea of how to start a melody and finish it to match my chord progressions like yours did. Sorry I’m new to beat making. Is this for advanced players? Because the way you just click in notes is crazy and I don’t know how you know where to go next 🤦🏾♂️
sounded beautiful bro. So like a chord inside or around your chord foundation? and just goof around a bit, but always building from scale. ??? you make it look easy homie.
Do you recommend those headphones for mixing/mastering? Right now I'm using "gaming" headphones. They sound great, but I want to take my music to new heights and am looking for a better option. :)
Super helpful and inspiring, immediately hopped on FL after this video to implement what I learned... blown away at the results! thank you so much, i have another weapon against writer's block

I was expecting to see how to create melodies over chords that are available already but you're kind of doing both at the same time right?
Do you recommend those headphones for mixing/mastering? Right now I'm using "gaming" headphones. They sound great, but I want to take my music to new heights and am looking for a better option. :)
I use the dt770 pro's and I really like them. I have monitors as my mains, but for headphones they are a go to for me
