how much music theory do you need to make good chords and melodies? i know the very basics but i heard ppl say that its pretty much a never ending topic?
@@louskunt1066 give me 5s lol. Like with anything, as long as you got the fundamentals then you can build and of course go as deep as you want so it can get complicated BUT to produce the type of music that's out now. It's rather simple on purpose. When you learn how to construct the major and minor chords. Then understand how to use those 2 chords to make a progression which is the musical journey that you want your song to move up or down. Then you've created enough music to create an emotion for the artist. Then that's when it hey more complicated because then you go into wanting more complexity but that comes with time. You're going through what every single person went through so don't think it's impossible. Lifestyle is a good person to take you from beginner to well enough to getting you professional music and I'm not just saying that. I don't personally know him lol nor getting paid. I just hate to see people discourage others in this journey by sowing doubt in them and make them quit. You can do this, love it and have fun

Hi, super helpful video, but could you tell me some of the hotkeys you use the most? Ones like invert, transpose up, cut, and especially what you use to mess with velocity. Thanks!
cntrl + left click (select a note) hold and drag to select more than one. Cntrl + up arrow or down arrow to jump octaves. Velocity moves (you can select specific notes or cntrl + A to select them all.. then Alt + mouse wheel to go up/down)

I’m definitely inspired but is there a way you can explain why you are doing what you are doing. After you did the scale run I was totally confused. Does the melody go with or against the chord progression. Are there any rules or do I just have to feel it and play it by ear. Because I can’t say this gives me an idea of how to start a melody and finish it to match my chord progressions like yours did. Sorry I’m new to beat making. Is this for advanced players? Because the way you just click in notes is crazy and I don’t know how you know where to go next 🤦🏾♂️
