Hi Friends!
In today's video, Jenny and I got to find out how many people it takes to get a 200+ pound man from his wheelchair to a swimming pool! We also got to meet some of the most kind and selfless people while we were on our vacation! We hope you enjoy our latest story time! Hi Peggy! It was so much fun to watch the video of me getting transferred into the pool! I didn't know that I could look as happy as I felt! There were so many times that I told my self that the fuss wasn't worth it... but I'm glad I got over that! We would have missed out getting to hang out with some truly amazing people! Thank you for sharing this story. Being differently abled myself with a SCI, my husband & I plan every detail of every trip in effort to avoid any catastrophe in accommodations. MOST of the time we are successful. Occasionally we've had to improvise which is fine & can be a learning experience. Much like you folks did on your vacation, we have met "angels" in our travels who I believe are strategically placed to remind us that our God is good & He provides. Today it's easy to distrust strangers so I am so thankful God spoke to your heart to let you know that this was ok. Please keep sharing your life experiences. They are a blessing and provide positive motivation. God Bless you & your family.

I have a heart like yours Tony. I just feel so much. In another comment I wrote how my husband and I say numerous times, “It’s a God thing” and how God sends people our way all the time, out of love. I also think Water therapy would be very beneficial to Tony. I don't have a disability, and a few days ago we put up our pool, and I relaxed and stretched for a few hours. The next day I felt great, I felt that I had a better night's sleep, no backache, no sore muscles. It was wonderful.😊

I've been wanting to go swimming all summer but have the same fear of becoming a spectacle. But it is nice that people do usually want to help. Floating in the water is like heaven! Glad you shared.

Love this, you were in my neck of the woods, hope you got some time without rain. The one upside of living with FSH is the awesome people I've met that have gone out of their way to help me in those times I needed help. Glad you got to see our beautiful beaches.

Gosh I can relate. People have NO idea how inaccessible things are. I've had way too many times people have said a motel room was and it had a step to the shower.

There are good people out there willing to help.i was struggling not long ago,I'm paraplegic and have a broken leg,I'm in a cast I was struggling to get my leg in to the taxi the driver was ready to help and to help me get out aswell

I love watching the two of you. Glad you got some help, these “little” things are such big things when you have a disability or chronic illness. Helping you to get in the pool is totally something I would have done, but then I would probably just have tipped up the wheelchair 😜 (joking)
I keep asking our town council for an automatic door on our library. Ironically it has disabled accessible toilet and a stair lift (roll on the wheelchair) to the top floor, but the heavy door opens outwards and makes it difficult to open for wheelchair users, prams, etc. For 14 years now I keep bringing it up, but so far nothing has happened. 🤷♀️ so much for German efficiency 🤣

This is just beautiful and so Christian like what Trevor and the others did. You're right, nothing in it for Trevor. Probably just the pure joy of knowing he was able to bless Tony with this pool time. It's the small things in life. My mom is one of 7 kids. One of her older passed away siblings was wheelchair bound. But it was due to a drunk driver situation. My aunt was in a car with her in laws and her and her husband's youngest daughter. The three did not survive but my aunt did and she was paralyzed from waist down. We all learned to adapt to her. She had a heart of gold and a huge Christian. She was Baptist, but wanted to give Catholic a try. Either way, she was just a good soul and no matter what church she was in, you just knew she was going to give her all. Those people reminded me of my uncle (my aunt's husband). He married a walking and functioning person, and kept his vows when her legs and spine got messed up. She had told him she understood if he wanted out, but he had such a strong belief with Christ to where he improved her way of living. He built handicap ramps to their house. He made handles and knobs in the van so my aunt could learn to drive herself places. She didn't go far (stayed within a 30 to and hour radius) as it took a toll on her aching body. But she did her best.
Like your video about the shower thing, my uncle also worked with local contractors to build a device that she sat in, and it would bend to a standing position so she was standing and sitting essentially on the same thing. It had a waterproof section where the plug went into so she was never worrying about battery issues.
God bless your family and I love how sweet those older two kids are. Just a deep understanding and appreciation for what you guys have. What a blessing!!! ❤️❤️

@@jennyandtony thank you for the kind words. I've had to really lean on God lately. So, we're a military family. We were in Japan from 2016 to 2020. I was able to obtain my masters degree while there due to getting employment being so hard. We're now back in America, but the job I want requires extra certification. I'm having such trouble with it, and I've had to go to God, my husband and family to learn this. We found another way to learn and it's helping tremendously. God has for sure blessed us in so many ways. I need to keep his faith and give him all the glory I've been given. There is lots of hard times, but God is so great and with his love we will overcome things. God bless and talk later.
