The stronger wire is pure copper and the more flexible and lighter is copper clad aluminum or CCA, the last is cheaper and less conductive and gets hot quicker and s used on jobs with limited budget.
The biggest problem with the cheap shit is that that you can't properly pin them down with the screw connector of an inline fuse, the hairy strands just give way. I've been trying to hook my deep cycle battery to an inverter and inline breaker with welding cable, now decided to bin the shit and go and buy proper battery cable.
Is there a reason why you can't use a 12v to 48v dc to dc converter for an amp, and use a 48v amplifier the voltage drop will be much lower and the maximum current would be 4 times lower for 48V allowing thinner copper cables? and the DCR would be less of an impact, than at 12v.

I Wana eventually get a 2000w sundown audio 12” with a better app. But for now I only have two kickers and a 1200w hifonics amp.
Those hifonics amps are legit. I used to have the Brutus and they are serious. The best wire I’ve seen and used is the ones you find at autozone. The ground wires you see at autozone 2guage is their biggest. You have to use a wire cutter to cut it it’s so strong. Not like these you can use scissors. Just make sure you got a solid ground and you’ll be fine with whatever wire you choose to use. The ground is the most important wire.

You’d be amazed by the wire I’ve seen that looks like 6 of these put together for a sound system. They have eardrums left. So your fear based philosophy doesn’t work. When we die- we have nothing left. I’d rather live a short life enjoying the life & music the way I want to than to listen to somebody else and be unhappy for a longer period of time.

Copper Clad Aluminum heats up quick. I burned out my 4 gauge power wire. I switched to Oxygen free Copper and have never looked back.
