    Everyone was so hyped for this flick that even the theater owner allowed the projectionists to crank their newly upgraded sound system to ear-bleeding levels.
    I’m 51 years old, and watching MK that night is STILL the single most HYPE theater experience I’ve ever had.

    I love when people finally get reminders that yes in fact people LOVED this movie back in '95, YES it was a box office success, and YES it IS considered to be THE first truly great video game movie. It still burns me up that people both tend to forget this and try to bury this film's positive legacy. But this movie is still great, and still mostly holds up today. And is VASTLY better than both it's awful sequel, and it's even worse TV show and awful reboot movie.

    lol at the end of the video 3:56 "Where's Johnny Cage for that entire fight?" This fight was actually a reshoot added to the movie VERY shortly before it was released, since the original cut was said to be lacking in the action department. So because this was a reshoot, that's why Johnny was nowhere to be found. The actor who played him was probably off doing another movie by that time, so they said screw it. No one will even notice he's not there lol Scorpion vs Johnny was a reshoot too, which is why they magically appear alone in the woods without and rhyme or reason to why the hell they are there and why they are fighting lol

    My older brother and sister would take me to the arcade every time they babysat me. He showed me how to play MK1 and we would BURN through quarters on that machine. I was (rightly) convinced that these were the coolest characters in the coolest game of all time. He worked at our local theater with all his high-school friends when this came out. He managed to help sneak me in with my sister to watch this on opening night (when I was 7). I don't think I could survive getting as hyped now as I did when I heard the name "Reptile". My mom was pissed because I refused to stop doing karate moves in the house for a straight month after that. Best memory of my childhood hands down.

    Man, it still warms my heart that people are enjoying this classic 1995 Mortal Kombat movie. It has probably one of the best fight scenes at the time. And even now, they look timeless. And, Johnny Cage vs Scorpion and Liu Kang vs Reptile are the best fights in the movie. And the soundtrack that plays during these fights are amazing. Especially the one provided by Fear Factory called Zero Signal, that plays during the fight between Johnny Cage and Scorpion. It makes that fight look even more brutal. And I'am sure that, if you add blood, gore and violence to this movie, with more incredible fight scenes, then it would probably be even more epic. Anyway, Mortal Kombat 1995 is a pure classic that you can enjoy even now. Thus why, I still love it. And this is probably the best video game adaptation EVER!

    • @KapoyIdol
      @KapoyIdol Рік тому +3

      Johnny cage is not allowed to fight, it's only a one on one fight for each outworld fighter and one earth realm fighter. If one outworlder challenge one earth realmer he can't say no, or else it will be a forfeit for earth realm, and then earth realm would be owned by outworld's emperor if they fight 2 vs 1 or not consent to the sudden challenge. In mortal kombat lore that is.
