Don’t over complicate any additions you you might make. There’s a reason that refrigerator is the way it is. 12/24 volt chest fridges are by far the most reliable you’ll find. Energy consumption is very low. The only thing is that many have a in-line fuse that may or not be a run of the mill stuff. One brand we sold had a tiny circuit board type fuse and can’t operate without it. Carry spares folks! Keep that fridge well ventilated. The compressor does create quite a bit of heat. We use 12v chest fridges in the Aussie outback with 100% reliability and that’s being thrown around in the back of a truck! Looking forward to your travels!👍
Robert O'Connor . Three way fridges do not perform as well as 12/24/110/240 volt compressor fridges in extreme temperatures. We’ve got a three way and it struggles to cool anything in temperatures over 45 deg C. The 12v chest compressor fridge however has no trouble maintaining -18deg C. when required! Obviously if they’re being used just to travel between camping grounds then it doesn’t really matter if a fridge or ice box is used.
I saw the rig in Bozeman!!!!! You were parked in the far reaches of a big box store and I thought about you but didn't ralize it WAS you!. Later that night, I saw the 1st vid!! Congrats!
Congratulations! I'm so so happy u got your expedition rig! And the price... WOW! Not too shabby. Well done. I am an RVer myself and take many trips with my young family from Toronto Canada. My wife and WILL be purchasing an Expedition rig one day in the future. I know it's not real polite to ask about price but as u know that is always the most important part. That's why I really really appreciate u letting us all know right off the bat. Supper excited and a lot jealous, but in a good way. Can't wait to watch all your adventures wherever they may be. Good luck u two. Safe travels
Top load refrigerator/cooler - excellent efficiency. Set into seating box, capped with seat cushion - incredible efficiency. Top loading means your cold air does not spill out immediately upon opening. Cold air stays low, while warmer air rises, so the efficiency is boosted by top loading. Add on the setting into a box cabinet and you add a few more ticks to the R value. Top that all off now with a few inches of foam seat cushion, and you may have a value built in that is worthy of the inconvenience. If you plan to use this rig as it is intended, you're going to realize the value in suffering through the inconvenience of access for the efficiency and effectiveness. Nice rig. I'm from Canada, drive a Nissan Patrol with a light RV style conversion, but my dream machine has always been the Mitsubishi Canter (Japanese JDM) 4x4. I have a lot of Marine and RV interior design and build experience, so I intend to design and build my own camper unit. It's always great to see others' rigs and check out their layout ideas and such. It helps to keep me motivated with ideas to make my ultimate overlander. Looking forward to your Dempster Highway Vlog. You know ya gotta do it. Question is: When? Next should be checking out the trip to Bella Coola in BC Canada. Let us know what you think of low gearing your rig down "The Hill". Drive it like you stole it! Drop a gear and STAND on it! Cheers.
Very valid points, thank you. Considering changing the refrigerator would involve redesigning the counters, it might be a ways off. We are saving some of those adventures like the Dempster for when we return home to Alaska in 3-5 years.
The shower type mini heaters used w/spray pull faucet could help if not using tankless system. Or mini under sink heater, u can just turn on when going to wash dishes.
Thank you for the tour! You both look like a couple of kids that are about to open their gifts on Christmas morning. I'm excited to follow you on your epic journey!
How fun to explore and get settled into your new home! It looks like you’ve used the space well. Good luck and I can’t wait to see more as you travel the world. What beautiful scenery you captured with the drone!
4x4 AND manual transmission?! Amazing vehicle, you guys definitely done good! No DEF either, wow. I've only dreamed of owning something like that. Super nice! Enjoy, and of course, I'll be joining you guys the whole way. Can't wait to see the upgrades your gonna do to this thing. Offroad bumper, winch... ;-)
I like the idea of a wet floor shower/toilet, it makes sense as it uses less space. Don’t need two sinks, one in the kitchen is plenty. I’ve seen RV’s in Australia and most of the cooking and cleaning pulls out on the outside. I really like their designs, while it’s not cold weather friendly, it makes sense in Australia. I’ve seen some RV’s in Alaska similar but larger than yours. They even had a lift on the back that held two 125cc motorcycles. Really liked that idea for exploring off-road areas. How are you feeling about not having your kayaks? EDIT: remember to exit facing the vehicle.
Nice new home. It looks very comfy. Put your fridge on wheels where puppy sleeps and put puppy underneath bench just open it u, but what do I know, (nothing):) . Good luck with trying to work it out, but you can do it.Be safe in all your travels
that part of the world you're in is absolutely beautiful. you're new rug is awesome. when you come east I want 2 meet up if you don't choose to come my way hope to see you guys in the " Rogue Denali "
Awesome rig! Please do me one favor though. If at all possible can you put your cleaning supplies away from any food or coffee/tea products or at least move them to the bottom shelf? If something leaks it would be better to be on the bottom. Stay safe and enjoy your new home.
Oh my what a great find and a much better cost than I would have expected compared to like the Earth Roamers that are $250K +. Been a while since I watch as I was starting my adventure but will be interesting to see your new ones in the new rig.
$88,000 seems like a bit much for that... $88,000 Canadian would seem a bit expensive?!? It appears to be "homemade budget build"? You sound super excited and in the end, that's what really matters! Use it, Enjoy it and make many great memories with it! Cheers...
Nice rig. I truly believe that many of the older well built RVs are much better than the the new ones. If I had a couple hours here I would tell you what I have encountered in my 2+ year search for a new or late model class A or C. Garbage. Good luck guys. I'll say a prayer for your safe travels. How exciting. If I were 20 years younger I'd be doing the same thing y'all are. One other thing what park were you in. BEAUTIFUL DRONE VIDEO👍.
I totally agree with the choice on a vehicle that does not require low sulver diesel and/or additive. That is why we will most likely never have anything any newer that our '02 Cummins. But the expedition vehicle is unfair, now we cannot hide from you in places that Nellie could not get to .. ;-)
Careful with the auto start and keyless entry now days for just a few dollars you can buy a kit online that will allow you to grab those signals wirelessly and gain an entry to other people's vehicles or even steal them someone did this to my dad's vehicle in Parker Colorado
I'm loving the new EV ... it certainly looks like it will meet your needs for your "around the world adventures". Once you have more time to personalize it you'll have your new home on. wheels. :)
Very cool rig. Are you guys planning on adding any solar panels? The roof looks perfect for it. A cool looking world map wrap is another idea to add some flavor to the exterior walls.
Nice vid... We're thinking about doing something similar. I would love to pick your brain on some things to learn how to get started. Keep the vids coming.
All in jest but I do gotta call you out on your observation about people asking about the cost. You did the same thing with Fabian and Isabella and I believe Fabian was just a tiny bit surprised about your focus on cost. I seem to remember his comeback was something to the effect of "We Germans don't like to talk about money".
I have a 2000 Fuso 4x4 dump truck and people still are like WTF that thing is bad ass . The thingy you think is a High idle is really a engine block heater , which will come in handy in cold parts of the world ,watch it will suck life out of the batteries . Also you do have a hand throttle down under the dash witch comes in handy on a Dump or for a winch for pumping up your Rsss.
Nice truck and a decent habitation box to work with. Instead of putting an extra water tank under the bed why not consider fitting a Webasto Isotherm fridge under the bed and the additional water tank under the dinnett seat?
Some possible questions: Top speed Does it tow Winches Do you have a spot for Traction Mats ( not sure what they are really called, for getting unstuck, crossing small gaps, etc...) I love it.
Very cool guys, looks like it will work nicely! I grew up driving a truck like that to haul blueberries on the farm..Ours was a Nissan , but pretty much the same. I love how great the turning radius was, great for parking lots and stuff. Way better than my Ram 3500 now :-( Safe Travels -Thomas
Great start guys very nice indeed look forward to full in depth tour when you have just how you want it, bet you can't wait to get started on your travels now ;-)
A true overland rig!!! So happy for your guys; great purchase. Only 35,000 miles WOW, and 2007 was the last year I think before DEF/Ultra low diesel EPA requirements, so you got a great chassis. Can't wait to see that hog tackle some MUD BABY!!!
I love the Fuso!!! And I don’t think what you paid was extreme. You’ll have so much more access to places that perhaps only jeeps can go. Manual trans is the way to go too, great features inside except the fridge, you’ll figure that out. Do you have the window that opens out by the table like Fabio’s? Theirs is a Mercedes though I think. Have you named her yet? I’m so excited for you guys, I can’t wait to see all the wonderful places you’ll go. Happy trails!!! 😄
Fridge will definitely be sorted out sooner rather than later. No window like Fabian’s, but maybe someday. We are still getting to know her before we settle on a name, but have it narrowed down to three choices. Thanks for riding along!
Amazing how well everything fits. Still, I cannot imagine the change you’ve made. Where did you film this? Just beautiful. Enjoy! Shelley from San Diego
WOW!!!!! So when can I borrow this rig just to take it for a ride? haha What an amazing vehicle. This should take you any where you want to go. Are you going to put a front heavy duty guard on it? Just was wondering. So what are the plans now? And when do you start to ship to different ports? Have you heard from the people that bought the other rig and how are they doing? Stay safe and happy adventuring.
Thanks. Considering the unknown parts of the world we will be traveling to, it would be irresponsible to not have a pass through for situations where you NEED to bug out for a potentially dangerous situation. There will also be a locking door in the pass through.
+His and Hers VLOGS You understand that a pass through will make engine servicing problematic since the cab has to be tilted forward. One side or the other or both will be open to the elements. There’s also the articulation issue where the cab and camper body need to move independently of each other.
Thanks for giving out the price, It helps those that are really seriously thinking if this is possible. Thanks again and Congrats!!
Congrats! Your videos are always well done, and now you're taking the adventure to a whole new level! Be safe and keep it real
Your truck looks like a beast! Like it can last a 100 years..its very sturdy looking...and soooo cool!
Definitely more storage than I expected to see. Another Refer looks like a must.

Nice choice of the Mitsubishi fuso rig for world traveling. Finding parts will be easier wherever you are in the world since it is sold globally.
I was wondering how you'd be when you downsized. That rig is fabulous! Very efficient. Very cute. Very road worthy!!!!! LOVE!
I saw the rig in Bozeman!!!!! You were parked in the far reaches of a big box store and I thought about you but didn't ralize it WAS you!. Later that night, I saw the 1st vid!! Congrats!

Gilbert Hernandez its the perfect setup for reliability. These things were designed for commercial duty.
You got that for $88k? Nicely done. Looks like all your research really paid off! Can't wait to watch the adventures you take it on.

Chevy Chase tied his dog up on the rear bumper in the vacation movie lol . You guys have great videos .
Great expedition vehicle, best of luck and safe travels.

Wohhhhooo
I am blown away .
Cheap then a new rv and capable more then 100 times.
Woohoo.
I am blown away i am in the sky's.
Lol🤣
Thanks. I think we got a great deal.
I really like the artwork on the side of the box. May you have many happy hours of travel. Looking forward to seeing where all you go.
Good For You Guys!!! COOL WHEELS !!! 😎👍👍👍

Space and it has 4wd and low range! Good job .
Thanks. We love this truck.
Very cool rig. Are you guys planning on adding any solar panels? The roof looks perfect for it. A cool looking world map wrap is another idea to add some flavor to the exterior walls.
It already has 520w of solar, so we are probably set for a good long while.
Norm K. If you look at the drone footage you can see the solar panels on it.
I like the wrap idea.
Nice vid... We're thinking about doing something similar. I would love to pick your brain on some things to learn how to get started. Keep the vids coming.
I could live in that! Awesome! Can't wait to see all the things you do with it.

Congratulation guys. Beautiful expedition off road.
Love your new ride . Small but it is perfect for two people 😁🚙🚙
Congratulations 🎉 guys looks great! not sure I could live that minimally
Thanks. It’s taking some getting used to.
nice truck guys........better than the pictures......will be following your journey.
I have a 2000 Fuso 4x4 dump truck and people still are like WTF that thing is bad ass . U should have a stlrage rack on top of cab for extra tires and such. Around the world u surely will need more than one spare.
Nice truck and a decent habitation box to work with.
Instead of putting an extra water tank under the bed why not consider fitting a Webasto Isotherm fridge under the bed and the additional water tank under the dinnett seat?
That was a steal at $88K. Congratulations!
Awesome Rig guys ..if you are coming to New Zealand i have a driveway and power waiting for you in Hamilton
We will very likely take you up on that offer in a few years!!!
Some possible questions:
Top speed
Does it tow
Winches
Do you have a spot for Traction Mats ( not sure what they are really called, for getting unstuck, crossing small gaps, etc...)
I love it.
It looks to be a great EV and the mods your looking for shouldn't be that hard. That's a really small refrigerator. Happy trails.
Awesome rig kids...be safe out there.
I do wish u guys all the best the unit is nice way to small I feel another 10 feet u be golden
I love your new unit! It is so cool! I am looking forward to the adventures! :)

Great music on the drone footage.
Thanks for the tour. Can't wait for adventures to come!!
Thank You for the clarification on the 4WD selector.
Dude I had a blue healer named Buger. She was the best. Never seen another dog with that name.
Hi Buger.
Great start guys very nice indeed look forward to full in depth tour when you have just how you want it, bet you can't wait to get started on your travels now ;-)
Love it, congratulations. Excited to follow the new adventures.
The living area looks like it was not built by a pro.
The pass thru is a must ...for the reasons you stated.
Thanks for the tour - wishing you all the best on your new adventure!
You need a light bar / and or some push bars on the front cab.
awesome!! I'm so happy and proud of you guys!
Awesome! Congrats guys.
This is awesome. Looking forward to all your new adventures.
A true overland rig!!! So happy for your guys; great purchase. Only 35,000 miles WOW, and 2007 was the last year I think before DEF/Ultra low diesel EPA requirements, so you got a great chassis. Can't wait to see that hog tackle some MUD BABY!!!
Awesome buy! Looks like fun. Thank you for all the info,
Thats one awesome rig! Just found and subbed your channel.
Hello from Deadhorse, Alaska. Welcome and thanks for watching.
I see your on portal, I've just started documenting my NPR build there for a upcoming trip. Hope you got that temp gauge figured out.
Loved it. Who sells the boxes for making the RV's?
I thought I saw this on I 70 in Utah a few weeks ago.
That must be our doppelgängers!
We are in Baja now.
I love the Fuso!!! And I don’t think what you paid was extreme.
You’ll have so much more access to places that perhaps only jeeps can go.

Love it! You'll have many happy miles!! She's beautiful
Put your fridge on that sliding drawer on the bottom there !!! Skål !!!
Love this new home. Please put your dog on a longer leash, so he can walk
Amazing how well everything fits. Still, I cannot imagine the change you’ve made. Where did you film this? Just beautiful. Enjoy! Shelley from San Diego

Awesome video!
I wouldn't do a cab to camper pass though, but its your vehicle.
Thanks.

So are you headed to Alaska ever? I am sure i missed few videos to let us know. Envy from Alaska.
Who made the box? What’s the box made out of? Thicknesses, core, interior, exterior etc of the box material pls.
HEY folks, let’s enjoy this journey.... thoughtful comments appreciated by all,
...but keep the mean spirited ones to yourself !
She's a BEAUTY!!
How do I get one??
congrats guys...you done good :)..love your videos
That is a helluva rig
Great video! Trying to catch up on videos since I’m a new subscriber.
Thanks. This is a good video to get to know our camper a little better. It may be small but traveling in this thing is very liberating.
I use this truck for loading palm oil
The Fuso is a great work truck. Thanks for watching.
Great video. New subscribers. Wondering what happened to your big dog? Saw him on another video. Safe travels!
Sadly, Remi passed away last August. 🐶😢
diesel heating off engine exhaust is best, portable heater by oil still good but under floor or wood mini stove is best no tax.
Only truckers use oil range bc diesel they got.
Never go in gear 2 bcoz it will put pressure on ur clutch just a slight rolling in 1 then to 2
👍👍 🌍 adventure awaits...& we'll be awaiting...enjoy
Love it guys, so awesome!👍
What is that gorgeous road you were driving on at the end of the video?
Nice tour, thanks !
realy great truck love it let the adventure begins any name for the truck???
Just an FYI: your amazon link isn’t clickable on an iPhone. Might need to add the http to it?
I wonder how many state troopers have looked twice when you pass a weigh station.
