This is a sound only true rail fans can identify with and drool over🤤!! What a consist! EMD’s and even a GE Genesis New Haven! I envy those hills. Can you imagine the all the motive power that’s screamed up those mountains over the decades? E-units, Centipedes, FMs, Alcos. Sorry, this diehard rail fan’s starting to drool again🤤🤤🤤
Nice video, at first you think someone just got a photo playing a sound clip. Also amazing that out of all 11 engines, 5 of them at the front of the consist are offline.
Those empty TOFC flats towards the end with the helpers shoving,I would think they can't be shoving too hard, I thought there were restrictions on where empties are placed in the consist, I remember SP out west had derailments where the empty flat cars derailed going around curves actually followed the path of the head end power right off the track, stringling it's called I think, does anyone have info on this?
Well this train started in Altoona and took all the power that needed to leave the shops and put them on one train to Conway, after that they went on different trains.
Haha wow, 5 minutes before the train entered the frame, what'd you do, hit the red button right after he called 240 or something? This was awesome though, I still think the CDOT 230 was the biggest catch on this one, why it was going west I have no idea.
Oh you don't have to be sorry. I understand. Had that issue on another video. But the sound sticks out on this video a lot more than the other. Rain doesn't help. Haha.
Railroad doesn't want people in that area anymore. But they say that the area around there is their property. NS Police have kicked people out of that area and even ticketed them.
Dang, 12 locomotives on one train, including the PA heritage and even a NH P32! That’s one rare beast to see in your lifetime.
Actually a typical move (minus the NH P32) for Horseshoe Curve
Listening to the power before they arrive, that is so cool, I could listen to that as a CD
One of the best things about the Curve and location. Sound bouncing off the mountain.
Wow, that’ll give one goosebumps for sure!
Always a terrifying yet epic sound of those fans and those diesels.
Its amazing at how those GP38-2's can be heard over all of the other engines.
Three sets of tracks, and a nice view like that. That's like the perfect outdoors spot.
Great Video Marc! The NH unit is looking just as fresh as the Pennsy! Awesome job

I love the sound too. One of my best videos from the Curve.

@@fishingwithkeaton8384 three actually. The 8102, the D8-40CW, and the New Haven P42
Nice catch!Thx
I always thought computers did the tonnage, length, and assisgned the power to the train.....
Well this train started in Altoona and took all the power that needed to leave the shops and put them on one train to Conway, after that they went on different trains.
Why would MN send a NH P32 on an NS freight train?
Haha wow, 5 minutes before the train entered the frame, what'd you do, hit the red button right after he called 240 or something? This was awesome though, I still think the CDOT 230 was the biggest catch on this one, why it was going west I have no idea.
If I don't hear the sound I change the channel.....THANK YOU....🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂💪💪💪💪💪
Is that supposed to be an insult or compliment? If you have never been to the Curve then you wouldn't understand the video.
Sorry I'm pushing 50 its a compliment to the sound...
Oh you don't have to be sorry. I understand. Had that issue on another video. But the sound sticks out on this video a lot more than the other. Rain doesn't help. Haha.
Good noise!
Where was the NH headed ?? That’s a passenger unit ....no??? Back to EMD for service. Help me out plz
It's a GE Unit. I think it was heading for Erie. Note this was 7 years ago.
Damn Thats some excellent footage!!!! Were all 9 engines working?
No. Maybe the first 4
interesting, thanks.
A midnight summer time train on the Erie Lackawanna....
I wonder if you're still allowed to be on that side of the tracks.
Probably not
Damn!

11A is always loaded!
The lead locomotive is actually 2733
EDIT: The locomotive in front of 8102 is actually 5614
ANOTHER EDIT: You forgot the DPUs 6328 & 6329
Rear units are not DPU, but manned helpers.
Oh ok.
So back to GE Erie for service BTW was this considered a Heritage Unit? but not part of the Heritage Series?
Probably just a regular engine. You can look it up. I have no knowledge on that RR.
watching it for like the 10th time lol
Nice vid
Is this Horseshoe Curve?
MainlineSouth yes
