I'm from Houston but we gotta give credit to New Orleans. Master P created "Trap Music" and B.G. created "Drill Music". Back then there were only 3 types of Rap Music... Gangster Rap, Conscious Rap and Hip Hop. Go back and listen to Chooper City and all Master P's early work, you'll see they laid the foundation before these types of music had names.

He copied the trends. Ghetto Dope was released in 1997 and he had one song that detailed how to manufacture crack. Nothing on that album was about the trapping lifestyle. Trick Daddy rapped about thugging not trapping.
