I'm definitely Origin curious. I like it for what it is, not for what it isn't. It's an expensive toy. A quiet, no gas, semi capable toy. That's what I want. I have a truck and am not ashamed to load in the back and drive wherever to ride wherever. I've riden across the country on my first bike, an 08 Night Rod Special., from San Diego to Richmond and back. I just want something quiet and capable of a little offloading around the suburbs. I'm not trying to conquer the BDR or the Baha 1000.
Worth noting, the whole 80% rule doesn't matter if this uses an LFP battery, instead of the usual Lithium Ion. LFP is getting popular lately and is cheaper. But energy density is worse. They also have no issues charging to 100% and sitting there over and over.
I'm not sure if that's fully true. I plan to watch this soon, but I want to put it out here just in case your information is out of date. ua-cam.com/video/w1zKfIQUQ-s/v-deo.html
We need the Chevy Bolt of EV motorcycles. The inclusion of Level 2 charging is great. It's all you need with such a small battery. The price kills it for me, though. Unless the US suddenly devlcides EV motorcycles get the tax credit, this just isn't a smart financial choice. It's a nice lineup for sure, though. More intriguing than the Kawasaki ones.
Hi Peter, you're certainly the right person to follow for any type of transport... I followed you when I was deciding on a vehicle; now I follow you for interest. I always like the clear descriptions and information. Doubt I'd go for a two-wheeled EV (those days have passed). Don't think we'll see much in the way of these here in the UK for a while - simply nobody seems to be talking about them yet.
I learned a long time ago not to lead my life by labels, I love a good gasoline vehicle, but some of the electric vehicles are pretty cool too. I like anything that’s fun and interesting, I wouldn’t want to miss out because of a label that I’ve given myself.
Cool to see Can Am branching out into motorcycles with electric power. Are these mostly silent? I wonder if they have chain or belt for the wheel drive. How is your electric powered off-road bike doing, Peter? Range is really important, yes.
You mean for electric bikes? “Zero” is the only brand of electric bikes that I’ve spent significant time with. To me, they’re probably the leaders. These are definitely interesting, and I’m looking forward to getting some riding time to make a final decision on which is best. I think these are better than Kawasaki’s fully electric offerings right now, but these will be more expensive.
The first models aren't going to be for everyone, that's for sure, but aside from price, these have a number of interesting features. It's a great first run, we'll see what happens with their future efforts!

Happy Birthday Pete!🎉
Since I'm a petrolhead I'm happy that the chain is the last part left that needs oil 😅.
Brilliant job Can Am!!!!

Although it's very funny to watch peoples reactions when I'm supporting electric motorcyles😁 Kind regards from Germany!
oh are definitely the perfect guy to review these vehicles. Looking forward to it.

Really wish these would have been cheaper... not worth it for the price to me.
A belt in the sealed case would have been even better. Longer life, no oil required, and no debris could break the belt if sealed.
Nice video Peter! Was wondering if there are any other manufacturers that are better than Can-am

Cool
It's just unfortunate they're so damn expensive.
