I also noticed anti climatic with the no freeze. I like rally scoring okay but definitely winning on serve adds more suspense if it is close. There is excitement knowing the team behind can catch up if the leading team/player doesn’t win the point on game point serve.
Watched an APP match here in Roseville, CA a couple months ago. Except for the Championship court I think all the others had the four pickleball courts together in shared space. I was watching pros playing and in the court next to them were either amateurs or just local rec play going on. Their ball came on court so many times I think the players looked to the refs for some support. It was often enough that it had an impact on the players focus. Definitely understand that frustration. Also, hope there will be more indoor courts built at venues that host pro events to have a relatively convenient back up plan for inclement weather. My guess is as the pro sport gets more popular (in person spectators) this is already being considered.
lol, I actually like how you guys bandy compliments back and forth. that is one of the things that stuck in my mind when you first had Roddy and Dow on together. you guys were actually kind to each other. I think some guys bond by slinging insults at each other (probably more like the Tennis Sucks guys) but you have your own style (you have to go with your brand). lol. the rivalry between Dekel and Hayden was pretty classic. a couple comments about the no freeze (with ability to win regardless of serve), this is the same rules as beach volleyball currently (vball only to 21 points) and some of the players just go for their serves. when all things are equal, your ability to ace on the serve might just edge out 1-2 more points to win. but one downside as a viewer is once a team gets like a 5-7 point lead, if the ability to side out is equal, then it feels like game over...
I agree with your sentiments regarding these Gen 3 paddles. The games are so much fun and more competitive when Gen 3 paddles are not in the equation vs when they are. I found it interesting to just watch the Johns Brothers go up against a significantly lower seeded pair using their Gen 3 Paddles mind you... in the Round of 32 PPA Atlanta Mens Doubles and almost lose. They actually should have lost. You couldn't even see the ball on some of those backhand flicks and roll volleys from Kaden. I really hope ban these Gen 3s at tournaments so that players can actually work on the dinking and dropping and strategic craft rather than just drive the ball at you from every part of the court... and I am a 4.5+ level player that owns the Gen 3 Joola and just keep it in my bag. Let's see how this all plays out. LOL.
Been watching faithfully since the first episode and am a fan! Keep up the great work and insights. As a professional podcast producer, may I respectfully make a request? Can Rob please orient his Blue Yeti Mic correctly to maximize his audio quality? It's a side-facing mic. Here's a video that explains it in detail. ua-cam.com/video/9iIaU2Ea3Dk/v-deo.html Test the 'pattern' of the mic that sounds best (likely "Cardioid" ). Be careful not to set to the pattern that turns on 'both' sides of the mic. Otherwise, it will pick up way too much room sound..echo. This will greatly improve Rob's audio quality. I already recommended that Adam get a light where he can adjust the color 'temperature' so he doesn't look so washed out, next to Rob. :)
If you guys want to be in a documentary but only want to take the questions that are easy never gonna be sold! We dont want to hear anymore how ya all got into pickleball too boring open up or we wont watch!
Not winning on your serve is a horrible format. No freeze needed but must win on your serve by 2 is the best option. The COR paddle test is needed immediately. The excessive power is ruining the skill and strategy of Pickleball. Allow more spin but cap the power at standard Gen2 COR level. The video quality on side courts is embarrassing. They need to find the tennis fan who is sabotaging Pickleball by whiping Vaseline on the lenses.

1.5 playback speed shortens things perfectly!!

Always enjoy the podcast…thanks for your banter!
In Cincinnati, you HAVE to eat Skyline chili - preferably 5-way.

Are APP's rules for serving more lax than PPA? I thought I heard that somewhere.
The PPA & MLP both need to fix the reply camera ! The blurry quality & poor angle of the camera is a joke
BoxCar can do that
