Hi . I have similar gun made by an greek manufacturer ( MVD Zeso Predator 82 )with barrel lenght of 82 cm. I found 3 pair of rubbers too much for my gun (actually not for the gun itself but for the 6.5 mm spear rigged on my gun ), so i removed one pair of rubbers and left two pairs of 16 mm and it shoots much, much more acurately. Other thing that i would recomend is to shorten the dyneema line ,so when you hook up your primary pair of rubbers at the anchors , they already have some pretension and after shooting even secondary rubbers stay in place ! This way you also clean up some mess under the gun, because there is a plenty of lines and rubbers down there ....I didi it simultaneously with removing one pair of rubbers and the difference is very noticeable. Also, there is no more downward shift of the spear, which was one of the issues with original setup with 3 pairs of rubbers. You can play with different setups, the gun is very versatile and removing rubbers, shortening dyneema etc. can be done very easily. BRGDS
I would agree with you 2 sets of bands is definitely enough especially for a 6.5mm spear. Still plenty of power! I have just got a signalsub nemesis HT 92cm inverted roller. Looking forward to seeing how it performs
Nice job! Just finished my first teak inverted roller and using pulleys instead of shackles for that job. BUT, there is some advantage to using shackles as they won't bind up at the anchor point as quickly as a pulley. Please let me know how the Dyneema is holding running through the shackles. Any indication of fraying due to the friction? Thanks!
I haven't had a huge amount of use out of the gun so far if I'm being honest but seen no signs of fraying so far. 👍🤙 just in the process of making 2 more spearguns out if mahogany I have to say wood is my favourite material to use for building guns.
Great video! Thanks for sharing, Thinking of converting a somewhat modular wood gun I have to a roller/inverted roller. What roller muzzle components do you prefer when building a wood roller?
Great video. I have a carbon MVD inverted roller 120. The way it comes there is no way to unload the primary band. Where did you get the threaded bead?
amazeballs!, So? did you get the chance to use it?. feedback?. Im in the process of building something similar for the Med, but having second thoughts on barrel length. how long is this gun?
Its a 90cm barrel Yeah I shot a few fish with it then ended up changing it to a 70cm barrel instead of a 90cm. As I needed a shorter speargun for a competition in Finland. My opinion for gun length is don't make it longer than you need. As you can always use a double wrap to gain range (which you would want to do for an inverted roller as they are really powerful!)
I’m not a spearo but i’m curious, since an inverted roller is more powerful than a regular speargun, wouldn’t it make a shorter gun (75-90) much better, or would accuracy suffer?
Good question I guess most inverted gun are similar lengths to regular spearguns just they fire like a laser very fast and do well at range (like shooting using a double wrap)
Don't you have issues with being to heavy under water? When I am building my own Invert roller, I do have buoyancy issues with only 90cm pipe... - Great Video!!!
People mostly use thicker rubber on pre tension rubber because it is easyer to load rubber that you pulling thru pullyes(archimed pully) and on the same time you get much more power on thicker band than tinner one.
@@skyespearfishing interested in what kind of issues and how you solved them. There does not seem to be many videos on how to dial in an inverted roller. Thanks

Looks slick mate! Try wetting the knife blade before cutting the rubber - it will plough through with ease!
Cheers D Mann I will try that in the future 👍 that's the same gun that I used for the competition with the single 16mm band so time simple is best 😂
Having the fancied, most expensive equipment is lovely. But there's something special about making your own. Great video.
Your right I still have more love for my wooden spearguns and all the work I put into crafting them. Cheers for the support 👍
Great video mate. Made the process simple
Glad you enjoyed it 👌👍

Theadlock on the pretensioner screw is a real good trick! #spearo #hack
I now need some decent weather so I can put the gun to the test! #spearohacks
Beautiful looking gun bro, nice work! Can't wait to see it in action 🤙🏼
Cheers Graham it is insanely powerful could go through 3 10lb Pollock 🤣🤦♂️
@@skyespearfishing 3 10lb pollock = 1 Skye pollock, sorted!
beautiful video my friend, a question where I can buy fiber barrel carbon like the one you bought? Thank you
I actually got this barrel from a friend I believe he got the barrel import from America. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍💪
Excellent video !
Thank for the comment I'm glad you enjoyed it 💪👍
Great video mate, how do you load it? Seems hard
It's was not bad to load but I was using 5mm lobster mittens in that video as the water was 7c at the time of fliming
Sweet gun & video. As always, Thanks for sharing 👊👍
Cheers mate can't wait to test it out properly!

How do I choose and measure the rubber length of a Némésis 104 . fishing gun .
Great video! Thanks for sharing, Thinking of converting a somewhat modular wood gun I have to a roller/inverted roller. What roller muzzle components do you prefer when building a wood roller?
I recently made a wooden roller wood using titanall parts they are expensive but really good!!! Glad you liked the video
Where was this place where you dived?
The place I dived when loading the speargun at the start was Waternish head in the far north west of the Isle of Skye. 👌
Present bro, from indonesia, nice spearfishing.
Cheers mate 👍 👌 looking forward to getting some Big fish with it!
Great video. I have a carbon MVD inverted roller 120. The way it comes there is no way to unload the primary band. Where did you get the threaded bead?
Vital-parts.uk I like being able to relax the primary bands at the end of each session as it can't do them good being part strech all the time.

Wow...speargun yang sangat bagus, salam dari indonesia 👍👍👍
Cheers hopefully it will do well this summer when I get some use out if it 👍🤙🌊💪
What size bands do you recommend for a 90 inverted?
I used one set of 18mm bands then 2 sets of 16mm. If I'm honest 2 sets of 16mm is more than powerful enough!
Class vid mate
Cheers mate looking forward to spearing some Pollock soon!
Very nice mate!! I'm hoping to build my first gun this year 😁🤞
Let us know how you get on 👍💪
hello nice video thx 🥇🥇

It's a little bit on the heavy I wish a had brought a cuttlebone style barrel in hindsight which would of made the buoyancy a bit better. Cheers 🎯🐟🌊
Question Skye, could you please tell me the size bolt you used on your reel?
I used 4mm bolts mate the biggest which would go through the holes in the handle 👍🌊
Wonderful thank you.
Nice bro
Cheers, mate. I'm glad you like it!
Sweet!
Cheers mate 👍💪
Why you used 16mm and 18mm bands? Could you add more bands on it ?
I chose to use 18mm bands for the pre tension bands. On the advice of a friend in order to get the spear moving fast. Hope that makes sense? 👍
People mostly use thicker rubber on pre tension rubber because it is easyer to load rubber that you pulling thru pullyes(archimed pully) and on the same time you get much more power on thicker band than tinner one.
Mantab bro..,, greeting from indonesia

Which gun do you like the most of the 3 you built?
Atm my favourite is my wooden roller gun. I have had a few teething issues with the inverted roller which I'm trying to iron out. 🤞👍🌊
