You mentioned the Cutty Black doesn't have a tractor beam, but I just logged in to verify and, sure enough, it most definitely has one. You enter it from the co-pilot seat (make sure the ship is powered on and that your co-pilot seat is also powered-on... U doesn't work from there, you have hold F and search for it on the lower-right-hand panel) and select the button on that lower-right-hand panel for "Enter Remote Turret" and you're managing the tractor beam in the far back upper corner of the cargo area. It can be a bit janky unless you mess around with the turret sensitivity so you're not constantly overshooting with the darned thing, but it's definitely there and works fine for moving cargo. Also has room for an ATLS, as do all of these, though usually at the expense of some of the cargo space to put it in there.
I can honestly say, Ive only played the the C1's Tracter a few times, dont care for it. and I always load and unload with the new Gravity Rifle beam. or the ATLS back in my home hanger. just seems much faster then playing around with the janky thing attached to my ship. NOW if I could use it like the Argo Vehicle tractor THAT would make it more then worth it.
@@epic_grayfox It works, it makes you open the inner door first, then ordering the ladder drop separately. Also, while less handy currently, it still has the roof airlock too. Basically it's got most medium ship amenities, but crammed into a tube. And...4 beds and 6 crew stations, weirdly... (pilot, copilot, 2 rear stations, engineering station in living area, turret.)... I think they should free up space and make it a 2 crew ship.
I will tell you something about the Spirit C1 that I just learned today. The thing is made of paper. I had to back out of a Save Stanton phase one fight three times to repair. Finally got fed up and decided to bring my Scorpius in, which I have fitted with the same four pack of attrition IIIs, and I tore apart the rest of the forces. I wish I could have done the fight with the spirit because the weapon cap is so much larger, but the shields just don't hold and the components go flying off.
The spirit is definitely waaaay to squishy for thr size of it's air frame. It is such a large target. Shout out to Scorpius, that thing is an animal and my favorite fighter 👀👌
Awesome video! Small suggestion, maybe you could show every ship's ratings across the board in one chart at the end for easy comparison. Otherwise, ratings were spot on!
I ended up going back to the Connie Taurus, so much pilot controlled firepower, a cargo specific button, and the tractor is right behind the pilot seat. It's great for looting VHRT and ERT bounties, though they don't carry much good stuff anymore.
So a lot of ships coming out these days are almost built more like a utility camper van. These daily drivers put me more in mind of like a tractor trailer sleeper cab. They aren't really meant to have all of the amenities of home so much as they're meant to be an overnight option.
The Zeus CL can load 2 32SCU contain plus some additional small scu containers. But I would say loading the same 32 scu in c1 is easyer then loading the two in Zeus.
the zeus utilizes it's cargo space poorly which lands it in a melt/ccu upgrade for me. over all the zeus is awesome but that cargo bay being absolutely insufferable to load and not being able to fully utilize it's full cargo space using up to 8 scu boxes makes it a poor choice imo.
It can be very troublesome to load, you gotta be specific with container sizes if you don't want to be fumbling around for 10 more minutes trying to squeeze a 16 SCU in there
I argue that the C1 is the best cargo ship out of the bunch You can fit 3 32SCU containers in the back. 2 on the Grid and one in the middle which still gives you enough room to get to the cockpit. On the Zeus CL you need to load way more smaller containers and cramming them under the very low ceilings is an awful experience. So imo the C1 is way more efficient in the cargo department
The max is easily the best and I don't even like freelancers. Huge ramp simple to load, second entrance for the pilot. But c1 is great if you want similar ease of use without looking like a freelancer 😂
Thanks for the comparison. These are all great ships. Each have thier own character and usefulness. CIG certainly did thier homework to make none of them 'perfect'. I have the ES for Exploring with 4 shields and more fuel and live aboard.. The C1 for fast in and out light cargo and great atmospheric handling and quickness...and LOOKS. As a long time player, I've always liked the Black as best do it all ship for the money.
This is my favorite type of ships as casual player (not dedicated and m not spending tons of money). As such i tryed every type of those ships and still Cuty Black is best for that money. There is new design of ships and CIG learn lesson and standardize some things besides cargo. Every new ship (Zeus, Intrepid, Starlancer) have multiply easy exit and entrance, space for suits, gun rack, kitchenette......and its almost look like ships of second generation. What those ships miss is less firepower comparing with older design. Firepower for those ships is important only for some NPC bounties. Still this type of ships are worst for PVP. U dont have speed nor great shield to protect u.....
You can def see the change in design and functionality as ships come out. Back during the Freelancer and Cutty days combat and some cargo was all there was to do. As we get closer to 4 0 and even 1.0, diversity is needed and having a ship that does a little of everything will become increasingly harder to create
The biggest flaw that the Zeus has is that the cargo grid is three SCU tall. That is a very awkward size, depending on what kind of boxes you're hauling around. I do love the Zeus, but I didn't buy it for a cargo ship. Waiting on that bounty hunter variant of mine.
Also it's 5scu wide with two 1•2•2 grids on the side for extra awkwardness. To fully load the Zeus it takes a minimum of 26 cargo crates including 16x2scu crates.
My condolences long term for anyone who bought a Zeus CL. Auto loading cargo is nasty with it and they went overboard screwing around with the rear entrance and height of the cargo area. Just get a freaking taurus.Taurus.
Same size and function category, not the same price. Wanted to leave it up to you guys to decide if certain ship advantages were warranted given the price
@epic_grayfox Alright, that's fair enough. The Freelancer Base and Cutty Black are the same value, while the C1 Spirit is a little more with the Crusader "tax" - and they are all 2 crew ships. (And yes, the ancient Freelancer has a capacity for 4, but was designed so long ago it was the low-end multicrew of its time). The Zeus is a 3-crew, so it is definitely a "step-up" in some ways. Nicely done video! 📹
While I still love the C1 and its design, I have to say. Ive moved up in the world. My new Daily driver is a bit bigger now..... I Love the Lancer Max! Thou my money maker is still the Vulture :)
That'd be more impressive if the Dave Stanton ai didn't just circle around you occasionally shooting when you enter their COF and their main hazard being they occasionally ram into the cargo ship in question.
@PharSyde6ix I mean, it's how I got all 6 of my completions. As long as I didn't fly anywhere the ai just circles the point and occasionally crashes into the asteroids.
@ I completed it yesterday and they came right at once I got about 8 km out and chased me down and everything. At one point I had 2 Gladius and 2 Bucs chasing me down relentlessly. Even tried to jump away and get some repairs done and they would not allow that. Don’t know when the last time you tried it but it appears to be working somewhat as intended.
Part of the problem here is comparing apples with apples. 2 of these ships havent had a Gold pass and 2 are brand new. Given the flexibility and ease of use a Max is always the easiest.
Given the state of the game with all that bugs and errors I just came to the conclusion that a daily driver needs to have a medbed or an hangar big enough to fit in the Ursa Medivac. Countless times I died for no reason, were stuck or could not get back into my ship, but being able to respawn right in your ship is unbelievable valuable. Saved me so much time and frustration. I was about to quit the game forever before I found out about this trick.

Great info! Feels a bit silly tho, I don't think it can fit a container large enough to warrant having one
Its nice to have in case you forget a handheld one, and adds to the Cutlass’s pirate reputation

Hold up - the freelancer’s second entrance is so convenient, definitely adds a lot imo
The ladder entrance i don't think works from inside going out without "opening exterior doors"
@@epic_grayfox Did yesterday for me.

Yes but it also looks like a dildo so that subtracts alot

Freelancer has twin linked dual SIZE 3 guns in the pilot turrets.
Awesome video! Small suggestion, maybe you could show every ship's ratings across the board in one chart at the end for easy comparison. Otherwise, ratings were spot on!
Really wish they would buff the Spirit with a 2nd shield. More missiles would make sense too.
You got the freelancers pilot weapons wrong. The weapons on the side turrets are actually size 3 not size 2

Ursa medivac in freelancer max is the best!
For cargo on the C1 you can fit 112scu if you know what you are doing
If you still don't know what are you doing, you still can easily fit 96 ccu just in 3-5 min with no brain 😂
I understand why the Taurus isn't on the list, but. The Taurus
If the C1 had a second entry point, I think it would easily be best.
While I still love the C1 and its design, I have to say. Ive moved up in the world. My new Daily driver is a bit bigger now..... I Love the Lancer Max! Thou my money maker is still the Vulture :)
The Zeus is better at combat than you give it credit for. I soloed the Save Stanton cargo mission with it without issue.
That'd be more impressive if the Dave Stanton ai didn't just circle around you occasionally shooting when you enter their COF and their main hazard being they occasionally ram into the cargo ship in question.

@PharSyde6ix just now. I'm not saying they don't attack you when you're going in. Just as soon as I park the ship their ai bugs out.

Cutty 4xS3 god tier
C1 4xS3 trash tier
Got it
With how much else he got wrong what else do you expect? Not like he tested these ships himself in game
Nah the Zeus is to big to be a solo daily
What would you prefer then?

Solid work around, know a lot of people run a cutty red for that reasoning
