I actually don’t really blame him, he was honorable and too trusting to the core and expected everyone to walk in that light. If he was a little distrusting of people at the core he will naturally make decisions which will not be dumb.
@@akhnatenpage4854 that's his characteristic though. He's very noble and honorable and have always been that way, and it just so happens that his enemy don't play the same way. He realized it towards the end that honor doesn't come above family and decided to agree to the term and confessed to treason if it meant giving his girls safety and a chance to leave King's Landing, but it's too late by then

Guys, remember the first episode? Ned beheaded that deserter who left The Wall. Jon Snow’s Nights Watch brothers literally saved his life. And with Robb now The King in the North, he might have had to take Jon’s head for deserting The Wall if he had reached him.
I never thought about the fact that she lost her brother, husband and son and got (3) dragons. 🤯
And all 3 dragons are named after each one.

Love how quickly these come out, the grind is real and is so very much appreciated. It's nice not having to wait a week between reactions as that starts to drag really quick, especially with a longer show like this.
Technically, Targaryens are not fire proof. In the book it was just a one time supernatural event that happened. That whole moment - the dragons being born and her living through the fire is literally a miracle. The show kinda changed that part up a little bit. They eluded to it by her not burning in the hot water in the first episode and maybe one more episode.
Targaryens can be varying levels of fire resistant in the books, but you're correct that in general they are not fire proof except this one scene. The other scene you're thinking about other than the hot water was when she picked up one of the dragons eggs off of the coals, and her handmaid rushed in a grabbed it from her. Dany's hands were fine while the handmaid's were burnt, and she only held it for a half a second while Dany held onto it for several seconds
Re the story of Tyrion’s wife, I don’t think Jaime meant for things to go as they did - He just wanted his little brother to get laid and be happy.
the real story is even more sad, she was never a whore, she truly loved Tyrion and the raped her.
Actually, in the books it's later revealed that that was all untrue. What Tyrion initially thought happened, did actually happen. She was SA'd, he and Jamie saved her, she fell in love with Tyrion and they got married. When Tywin found out, he forced Jamie to lie to Tyrion and tell him he set it all up. All because she was a commoner, not a noble woman. Jamie reveals all of this to Tyrion later, I won't say when because the time and place they have this conversation is a spoiler, they just cut all of this out and replaced it with something else in the show

With as honorable as Ned was, he wouldn't have wanted Jon to leave the nights watch. Jon took an oath, and Ned would have told him to honor his words.
I have to defend my girl Sansa. This is a time without internet and social media and Sansa has only been exposed to her environment. Where kings ans queens are in fairytales and are graceful and noble. And all men are honorable and a man will love his wife and treat her kindly like her father did to her mother. She is 13 which is very young and she’s been raised her entire life to be a wife, she’s told that Joffrey is going to be her husband and hoping that he will grow some affection towards her she wants to prove her loyalty to him not knowing how evil he really is. She doesn’t know anything else except from her very sheltered and privileged life, many of her decisions are simply because she is naive. Obviously that is changing as Joffrey lied to her and murdered her father, but I don’t blame her I think her character gets judged unfairly and is terribly misunderstood and looked at face value when she is deeper.
All the Sansa hate is such a downer, she's such a realistic character and GRRM wrote her really well, she's so strong and she never betrayed her family! Yeah she couldn't back up Arya's claim because it was shaming the prince in a public setting but people go way overboard with their hate for her over that (she had no choice, amigos). Arya gets liked more because she's less feminine, but she'd never be able to survive in Sansa's position.

@@janezkette3901 Yeah he shouldn't have told the kids they were unexpectedly going to leave, he should have simply left with them immediately, but I guess he never anticipated how cutthroat Cersei was. Sansa didn't know what he'd discovered and her "success" at achieving what she'd always been brought up to aim for at the highest level possible (and marrying the prince was probably higher than any of them would have ever expected) was suddenly being threatened, and she thought the queen was honourable from her upbringing and limited exposure to Cersei thus far.

Okay sorry you’re wild with this idea of Sansa tore everything down. It was the KING who said “I have a son, you have a daughter. We’ll join our houses”. Was Sansa being a young idealistic girl who wanted to marry the prince because she would become queen and everything would be awesome? Of course she was. But that doesn’t change the fact that the marriage was a POLITICAL MOVE that would have happened *no matter what Sansa’s opinion was*. Like Ned said to Arya, “Sansa is to marry him. She must take his side, even when he is wrong” and Arya replied “but how can you let her marry somebody like that”, to which Ned had no response. Sansa wasn’t betraying the family in that time by lying for Joffrey, she was actually doing her duty to the family by being a “good wife” and securing this alliance between the Starks and the King.
Now, I get it, most people hate Sansa in season 1, and I hope as time goes on you put some respect on my girl’s name.
I agree 100%!! People are very unrealistic about Sansa. In real life you see people who have been abused who sometimes stay friendly with their abusers because it takes time for the realization of what happened to set in. People also commonly ignore red flags about their partners. Then why expect a noble 13 yo from medieval times to suddenly do a 180 on her betrothed prince after the forest incident? It's unrealistic and unfair to expect that of her. People fail to put themselves in her shoes. Arya is a tomboy, she rejects rules, she dislikes romantic tales... she is the exception so others shouldn't be judged in comparison with what she does.

yall just got your first real taste of “the human heart at conflict with itself”. you knew not to trust mirri maz duur (the witch), but when you really think about it you can’t blame her for what she did. That is my favorite aspect of this show. George R R Martin said that the only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself. Get ready for the game of perspectives.

After this episode, anyone who thinks Joffrey is not a sadistic psychopath is not thinking. Go back to Cersei's talk with him when she was treating his wolf bites and you can see where much of his attitude comes from. It will be interesting to see if Cersei or Tyrion can actually control him now.
Catlyn Stark did not kill Jaime for the same reason Ned Stark dishonored himself, her love and concern for her daughters.
Daenarys made a foolish and common mistake; she trusted too much to try and save someone she loved. She should have understood that the witch might want revenge. Hopefully it taught her, but at least she got her dragons. Now, will they make a difference, and how long before they are big enough to be useful?
In the Game of Thrones, no one is what they seem.
The Golden Crown was brilliant, because in their special city the Dothraki have a law against shedding blood. So Viscerys needed to die but it had to be bloodless. Khal gave him his crown.

It appears the magic comes into play when something dies. "Only death can pay for life."
Daenerys' supernatural ability is she's a dragon- Certain members of her family are born with dragon's blood, which makes them invulnerable to fire (or heat in general) and gives them a special connection to dragons.
They don't really play it up much in the show, but I'm told that in the books, all the Starks- not just Bran- develop psychic connections with their dire wolves.
That’s not true. Daenerys is the only targ that is “fire proof” and she’s not even fire proof in the book. It was a once off. With the starks, they’re more than that..they’re wargs.
Nah grrm has said that daenerys isn't immune to fire and that was a one off miracle, also loads of targaryens have burned to death

@@daniig62 Yeah on the show they seemed to have pushed that esoteric/magic element with the starks and targaryens to the max. It's like the starks and some other northerners are somewhat psychic because of their closeness to nature while the targs are genetically and magically engineered to have special abilities and bond with dragons.
You'll note that Ned beheads the deserter in the first episode and is beheaded himself at the end.
In the story about Tyrion's wife, Jaime is only trying to help out Tyrion (in the book, there is even more going on, but that's another matter).

super natrual abilities... so far: Danarys is a true Targaryn and fire does not harm her. Bran connection with the ravens. Rickon able to know when his father died... White walkers north of the wall (thats your ones in the woods) .. you'll see more interesting abilites in future seasons
also forgot to mention. . each Stark has connection with their Dire wolf.
Technically Targaryen’s are not immune to fire, they just changed it up for the show. And only for Danarys, since we see her brother die from the molten gold. Either way, you are correct as far as the show goes 👏🏾

The point of old dude's scene was to let us know that he is Faking it. Theres a deleated scene they were gonna use intead where Tywin lannister calls him out. But they went with this one.
Blaming khaleesi for drogo's death is so absurd lmaooo. It was drogo's own pride that put him in that state. He got slashed for no reason and refused to have it cleaned and properly dealt with when the khaleesi offered. He was gonna die regardless, but I agree that Daenerys was naive in trusting the witch

There was a part in one of the episodes where varys says to Ned that the king did not die from the boar or the drink that he died because of Ned's Mercy I'm pretty sure that's signifying that Queen Cersei made sure the drink kept flowing or that there was something in the drink that made him not on his game so that he would die because Ned warned her ahead of time that she needed to leave before the king Got Back and she was not going to let Ned blow up her spot

In the books, Dany had dreams about going into a fire and exit with Dragons.
She also "breast fed" the small ones, since she had lost her own child and had milk left. (I don't remember how long she did that for. Not so long, I think...

Joffrey had his kings guard hit Sansa because ‘mother says it’s unbecoming of a king to hit a lady’. Plus, the little snot doesn’t get his hands dirty, always want someone else to do his dirty work. Yes, the feeble old man is faking. There’s a cut scene where he was actually confronted and admitted it. If people think you’re feeble, they are bound to let their guard down around you. It’s all a game in Kingslanding and playing it is what keeps you alive. Ned the honorable fool refused to play it and lost his head

The Hound's big brother is a serial killer. He (the Hound) is the only surviver in his family and mamed both physically and
mentally. He's fantastic character, and he absolutely saved Sansa there.
When you say "he" after your 1st sentence it seems like you're talking about the brother.

Jaime doesn't care if he dies, but he doesn't want Cersei and the kids to die, so that's why he doesn't say why.
And that's also why Ned didn't tell King Robert that the kids weren't his, he was worried about the children being hurt.

The Starks at Winterfell are the closest up north to the free folk (tribes and "savages) which is why they have similar roughness to their own culture and way of living. Could explain why they can have big arguments and get their hand bitten off by the lord's wolf and still be cool with them afterwards haha

It was showing pycel doing all the stretches and acting limber, then showing him putting his act of beeing feeble back on. He's faking it so people think he's weaker than he really is. It shows shows more about the background of his character.

I hope you guys give the season's lore videos a shot. They were released as the seasons went to DVD and helped explain backstory for all the houses AND potential magic that might be used for the show. They were fun!
Sansa needs some appreciation because she was 100% willing to risk it all to take Joffrey out. She is 11, acts as she was raised to, & gets too much hate for that.
just want to point out that when Tywin yells, ‘they have my son!’ & dude on left said he’d never say that about Tyrion; he did in fact say just that about him to Jamie when Cat took him hostage (‘he may be the lowest of the Lannisters, but he is still a Lannister’)
