    Great video. Does this gasket work with a battery compartment hatch? Thanks.

    Thanks for the vid- good stuff esp. the the 'card cut'. One thing, the seal is on the cover so it won't get damaged when things get slid over the opening of the box, you may not experience that but would like to see what your experience will be.

      Excellent point about the location of the seal, Sea Shepherds! I will ask Lenny to keep an eye on that specifically and report back with his experience at various points. Was just out on the boat with him this week shooting more videos, and so far, so good! He's still happy with the upgrade, and he says his friends have mentioned the difference as well without prompting. Here's hoping that continues. Oh, and I agree about the card cut! That was a super handy tip. Thanks for watching!

    Great video....but I do have a question for you. The gasket around my engine hatch has become loose in certain areas. The gasket itself is in good shape, it's just started to separate. I'd like to glue it back, but realizing that it is in the area of the Engine and Gas fumes, etc., I am curious to know what I could use to seal it. Thanks, and I look forward to your reply and recommendations!

      Thanks for the question, G.J. We'd use Loctite Super Glue, which bonds to both porous and nonporous surfaces and should hold that gasket down well. Just be sure to clean the surfaces thoroughly before application. Hope this helps!

      @@boatus Thanks so much for your reply. In fact, I think that I may have some of that Loctite here in the house that I had picked up for another project. But would the Loctite be safe to use in the Engine Bay??

      @@g.j.battle8924 You might want to wait for the glue to dry before firing up the engine, but once it's cured it should be fine just as long as it isn't exposed to open flame.

    Might be good to wear gloves when working with acetone and glues.

    What the heck!? Who cares if the fish get scared off? What does that have any bearing to do with your boat and getting it to sail safely and properly??? Someone honking their horn on the interstate doesn't prevent me from operating my vehicle there because a bird off in the tree's got spooked.

    • @boatus
      @boatus  Рік тому +1

      With all respect, jkutyna, I believe you may be taking the comment out of context. Lenny is a fish guy through and through, so his comment is coming from that perspective. When he's got lines out, the last thing he wants is a slamming hatch to scare away the fish. Obviously, if you don't fish, that's not a benefit to you, but there are certainly several other reasons this project might be useful to you as a boat owner. We appreciate you watching.
