@studovicmedia You know, I feel absolutely the same way. So beautiful, bring tears to my eyes. The first dance with my wife on our wedding day was to, Joan as Police Woman's "The Ride" but it should have been this song!
@ShifulChoudhury ofcourse the version of ryan is beautiful as it is the authentic one, but i think elton did a great job to make this song his own.. he really put his own touch to it.. Exactly because of the fact that i really love this song i am curious about all the covers (with keeping the most beautiful original version of Ryan in mind).
It's good that on both version they hold back on the vocals i think. They could both easily just go for it, but i think the song would lose a bit of it's charm without the witheld vocals. Tis beautiful and vulnerable this way.
This is as sublime as Elton using my lyricisms for an entire album…view from a diving board…fairly sure obtained from DRA who got them from my portfolio
Why did you expect it to go over the top? It's a lot more dramatic at the end compared to Ryan's version, and you really get to hear Ryan's guitar work shine.
this sounds so beautiful with the twangy electric and the piano and the instrumentals r just KICKASS!
elton needs to record cd with all the wonderful covers of songs and duets he has done live over the years.
LOVE Elton and Ryan. This song is so close to my heart in so many ways. Makes me wanna bawl evertyime I hear it.
Good lord this is fantastic...great version of a great song
elton can take any song and make it sound like an elton john song. Great performance, as is the entire CMT evening.
My two favourite artists . Great Tune
Saw them play this live together at the Tabernacle in Atlanta way back in 2002. Great show, great performance
Magic.
great song i love it
No... This version leaves the eyes quite dry .. Ryan voice makes me cry .
lightbluerain both cool Ryan is better to me 2
Beautiful.
Its a small world. Who'd thunk it...Ryan and Elton!
“Thunk”?
Amazing. They should work together more. Ryan's earth electric guitar adds a lot to Elton.

This could have been on "Tumbleweed Connection". those were the days...sigh...

This version has the best intro
Elton can sing anything that is written like Bernie would do it.
It's off with the jeans the jacket and the shirt
Would love to find the piano sheet music for this!
I'd like to find the video!
Doveman did THE cover of this. Not on YT though?
This version is different from the version I found a while back.
You mean there's another EJ version?
@@1091Floyd21 Yes
There's a cover by Rose Cousins & Sean Staples. I preferred that to the original. But this is real good
I think the instrumental works in this are far better than that. I prefer Elton's really deep voice here.
nice - not of course as good as ryan's however... doesn't go over the top which i kept half expecting it to do so which is a bonus...

@@1091Floyd21 But elton's piano... magic
would love to hear Darius Rucker chant this mmmmmmmmmmmm
EJ could bust this out, not sure why the reticence..regard for his fellow musician, Adams, I’m guessing
