  • you don't need an audio interface to get great audio This is my review of the AT2020 USB mic. Audio technica did an awesome job with the xlr at2020 mic. But not everyone wants to buy an audio interface to make it work. Many people don't want to expand their setup to get audio. If you want to pickup the usb mic or XLR here are my links

    HEADS UP... Thanks to @sony10e for the correction my error for the one controller on the mic. The first wheel on the mic is not for controlling he volume output on the mic to the computer but it let's you find a sweet spot between what you are recording while listening to previously recorded computer audio. You still can adjust the mic levels on the computers sound settings,

    The USB seems better than the mixer one in audio quality, and that's incredible.

    Just letting you know that you can not adjust mic recording level from the mic, the one on the mic is only for listening volume for the headphones.

      The USB2020USB is a discontinued mic.. the USB+ is the newer version.. I think it’s a good beginner mic for vocals…. Eventually, you’ll probably want to upgrade. But to start.. yeah it’s good

    Здравствуйте. Подскажите, пожалуйста, вот для озвучки все xlr микрофоны будут улавливать шум комнаты и иметь шум, и нужно специально обустраивать комнату или есть какие-то микрофоны, которые не настолько улавливают все это? Или все же для таких целей, чтобы не обустраивать комнату и т.д, лучше подойдёт юисби микрофон?

    вы, вероятно, искали бы кардиоидный микрофон, я могу ошибаться, но я считаю, что они улавливают меньше окружающего шума и записывают только вас. теперь, конечно, обработанная комната помогает. если я ошибаюсь, пожалуйста, поправьте меня. но есть разные микрофоны для разных вещей. надеюсь это поможет. извините, если то, что я говорю, немного странно, используйте Google Translate, чтобы перевести мой комментарий, чтобы вы могли его прочитать.

    Would the usb version be a good mic as an overheard mic for recording drums?

    • @techexamined
      @techexamined  3 роки тому +2

      It’s really for closer up usage.. beyond a certain range it will begin to pick up less sound.. now with drums it might be loud enough to sound good enough…
      But a pencil mic or shotgun mic might be a better option..

      @@okarma_1636 it’s the same for every single USB mic unfortunately. You should stick to XLR since it has its own mixer and no delay when recording or doing things. If you’re planning it just for streaming or a podcast it’s a decent choice for low budget but if you’re planning on making music it’s not the best one. It’s definitely worth the XLR and mixer cause you can always switch or upgrade without wasting the $150. There’s definitely an audio gain issue with USB mics.
