@@TheHonoredMadman if you don't already know, this best place to fight the bears is underneath them. That said, they are all affected by sleep and eternal sleep pots, INCLUDING the boss bears in SotE. Eternal sleep pots actually are the best, because they will stay asleep even as you wail on them for a while.
It feels like this is another attempt to tackle the same design problem as the Bloodborne chalice dungeons. To adapt the engaging souls combat into a roguelike format. It's great that they are recycling bosses. Bring them all back, bring back Bed of Chaos, Covetous Demon, Pinwheel, insert them all! It would be fucking cool to have a roster of 500 bosses (with modifiers) making each run truly a unique challenge, so much replayability. I just pray for a single player/offline option, because I have zero friends and my outback wilderness internet speed is too slow for co-op.
This is what i saw as well. It seems like chalice dungeon 2.0 complete soulsborne edition or something. I have no issue with reuse of assets if its done well and not overdone. Its too early for me to say i think itll pan out i think
Don't be alarmed. They mentioned that there will be singleplayer as well. However it seems that currently they are not planning to give you the option to play as two players but only as three which would be annoying as I only have 1 friend I know that I can play these games with.
@@Sinhsseax Sometimes multiplayer games have a single player "offline mode" but it's not really playable. Like with Dead Space 3, an online co-op game. It has a single player mode, but half the levels were locked and the balancing made it unplayable.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but I have to bring up that we seem to have two separate worlds (or points in time) that Patches has been in being brought together. This implies we could have Patches meeting himself and/or us meeting the older version/s of Patches. Patches has always been an anomaly in From Softwares games considering he's appeared in multiple that take place in vastly different times and seemingly different universes. So maybe what's happening here could possibly provide some explanation if he's actually like universe hopping or if these are all just different versions of the same character

Few things of note on my end and I am typing this as I listen to the video so forgive me if any of this is already said in the video. The shadowy stuff coming out of that doorway really looked like the Dark souls 1 abyss. My impression gameplay wise is this could be a co-op Elden Ring rogue like with hopefully a lot of story/character/narrative driven progression. So basically Soulsborne x Hades and other roguelike games. That arena the 3 headed wolf boss arena was a mixture of Radahns festival beach and the two spires in the back with the setting sun really made me think of the old chaos in Eleum Loyce in Dark souls 2. The doors mentioned previously that seem to spill out The Abyss when opened, really remind me of the doorway to the Kiln of the First Flame in DS1 as well as the giant stone doors at the Throne of Want in DS2. I think this is going to be incredibly unique and interesting and I hope to have even MORE lore to sink my mental teeth into. Gonna keep an open mind going forwards, I agree that it seems like a big and probably risky experiment but you don't get anywhere worthwhile without risks. Besides if the game ain't your cup of tea there's probably plenty of people who's cup of tea it is, so let them have it and enjoy it. Be kind, be courteous, be respectful.
I hate to admit this, but I was really critical of Nightreign at first. As a pvp enjoyer, I had worries that this could be the beginning of the end of invasions in Dark Souls like Fromsoft games, especially with how gimped they made them in Elden Ring. Also it seems to not have some of my favorite features, like character creation and build crafting. After letting it sit, marinate if you will, I've definitely become more interested in it. I'm willing to give it a shot, as it definitely looks fun.
The more I think about this the more I believe this will be epic, somewhere between Monster Hunter and Dark Souls, I have absolute trust in From's gameplay creation capabilities.

You used greenlighted as the past positive tense of greenlight wrong, greenlit would be the correct choice in this instance i believe. I know they have said that the game is not going to be an mmo and will be complete "out of the box" but this style of game does seem Taylor made for future content updates like new and returning NPC's and bosses, as long as it wasn't fomo ridden battle pass trickery i wouldn't be upset at say oolicile style enemy update for a season

I've played 180 hours of Veilguard. The combat and build crafting is fun. The lore and the story isn't as good as the older games. It was a lot easier when i realized the main character isn't truly your own character. You don't have that much control over their personality. They are generally a charming person who's competent and wants all of their team to get along
i have so many mixed feelings about this its insane lol. at the very least i cant say that the faster pace combat, deflecting, and flying looks amazing and i wish base elden rinng went more this route combat wise than the dark souls 3.5 gameplay route they went with.

Thus not making it an entirely nonsense mash up of DS and Elden Ring?🤔 FLAMES THEORY: Also, the "Blue flame" from the trailer looks a lot like 2 other flames we saw before: 1 - Ghost Flame (Putrescence) from the Putrescent Knight (Even though it's kinda of a purple'ish or dark blue color) 2 - The blue flames from the Carians/Nox. We see some of this blue flame i believe around the location you get the Carian Thrusting Shield of Rellana in the DLC and the Eternal Cities as you said in the video. The Carians are definitely connected to the Numen and Nox. I think Carian magic has a very similar symbol as Night Sorceries, which are connected to the Nox and the Eternal Cities. The Nox are said to be awaiting their "coming Lord of Night” so perhaps the Nightreign world is the result of them getting what they wanted. This could potentially even go into more detail about why the Black Knife Assassins killed Godwyn.

I'm also hopeful, optimistically so, but I will temper it with caution. Dark Souls 2 is not seen in a positive light for a reason, it was generally worse than what came before or after. Even if it had great ideas and many changes were adopted in future titles. I personally enjoyed DS2, but I wouldn't reduce the complaints of a community who expects excellence. Even if those complaints will mean little, maybe nothing. I do believe if Dark Souls 2 was instead called something like Coalescing Lands, people would have loved it more. Same reason Korra split the Avatar TLA fan base. Be optimistic, but be cautious. The games that Miyazaki is tied to ends up being great for a reason. Vision and leadership. If they are not leading, if they are not creating vision, then its not a Miyazaki game. Just a Fromsoft game.

Fromsoft is the best studio around, but if they were to make a great rouge-like, it would be its own title. Souls gameplay just isnt going to make a good co-op rouge-like game. This looks identical to ER, except its been downgraded by randomly generated environments. Tbh, this looks like a AAA studio move. They need something to sell you but dont have anything actually new. So they put a bunch of old ideas together, some old bosses, marketed it all as fan service then called it Elden Ring so youd buy it.

This being worked on by junya ishikazi isnt somehow stopping miyazakis next game from coming out and i doubt itll have any impact on what miyazakis plans are for his next project which he already said isnt elden ring related. I just dont see how the spinoff means that the mainline games from miyazaki will all go the same way of this random spinoff. And yeah its obviously motivated by money, have you seen the level of greed that a japanese gaming company is capable of? So i do totally agree that shareholders see money. It's a boss rush for people that love fighting bosses of the base game and previous games. Would be stupid if they didn't reuse assets, people that use that argument don't understand what this game is about. Not every fromsoft game needs pvp. As well as they are experimenting with new combat so makes no sense to add pvp just for people to complain how the combat doesn't cater and isn't balanced for pvp.
I’m sure fans of these games are already tired of fighting the same bosses and looking at the same area of a game that they spent hours on . This definite needs more content than new weapons and a wall run . If it’s a live service type of deal I can it being fun a year from now when people crave soulsborne adjacent stuff .

Miyazaki is an excellent director, but he isn't the only good developer at From Soft. Without them all the other games wouldn't have been made either.
Fromsoft is the best studio around, but if they were to make a great rouge-like, it would be its own title. Souls gameplay just isnt going to make a good co-op rouge-like game. This looks identical to ER, except its been downgraded by randomly generated environments.
Tbh, this looks like a AAA studio move. They need something to sell you but dont have anything actually new. So they put a bunch of old ideas together, some old bosses, marketed it all as fan service then called it Elden Ring so youd buy it.

...dear Madman, the problem isn't that Miyazaki isn't directing it. I'd be very happy for another game like DS2.
In my eyes, the problem is the focus on coop: i get that all the newcomers want coop, but we old players want pvp/invasions; a game centered around that before this should've been mandatory, but, as always, i bet shareholders see only 💵💵💵... 🤦
I mean i dont think this game was a big priority over at fromsoft. This being worked on by junya ishikazi isnt somehow stopping miyazakis next game from coming out and i doubt itll have any impact on what miyazakis plans are for his next project which he already said isnt elden ring related. I just dont see how the spinoff means that the mainline games from miyazaki will all go the same way of this random spinoff. And yeah its obviously motivated by money, have you seen the level of greed that a japanese gaming company is capable of? So i do totally agree that shareholders see money. But i dont see how this somehow dilutes future games
Perhaps they will make a PvP focused game as well after this.

It's a boss rush for people that love fighting bosses of the base game and previous games. Would be stupid if they didn't reuse assets, people that use that argument don't understand what this game is about. Not every fromsoft game needs pvp. As well as they are experimenting with new combat so makes no sense to add pvp just for people to complain how the combat doesn't cater and isn't balanced for pvp.
I’m sure fans of these games are already tired of fighting the same bosses and looking at the same area of a game that they spent hours on . This definite needs more content than new weapons and a wall run . If it’s a live service type of deal I can it being fun a year from now when people crave soulsborne adjacent stuff .
