As my mom (and many others) always says, the lottery is a tax on the working class. It's not like the money actually makes it to education anyway, depending on your state they just defund education for the same amount education received from the lottery, then redistribute those funds to their favorite departments and programs.

When taxes are used to enrich the military industrial complex and people still drink poison water in flint with no real healthcare, then people thinking taxes are not fair is justified.
What can we do about it
you're misunderstanding what "education" means in reference to lottery funding. granted, it is a state by state thing, but generally speaking, only ~15% of lotto profits go to basic education. the majority of "education funding" from the lottery is usually scholarships for low-income people to go to college/ university.
not that this is a bad thing, just do not be fooled into thinking lotto profits do much for k-12.
No one is forced to buy a lottery ticket.

Facebook is about to do the same thing as Instagram…like, I thought Facebook was for staying in touch with friends, not a feed full of ads and women selling $60 lipgloss that helps you lose weight. 🙄 I don’t have tik tok for a reason…ugh.
I had tiktok for awhile. There are far fewer ads there. I saw maybe a handful during hours of scrolling. I'd see more ads on Facebook back when I quit it at the beginning of the pandemic in the hour-a-day allowance I would give myself, than I saw on 6 months on TikTok.

He's very, very methodical. That's what I've know about him for a long time. So have others' I know. If more of the Country were methodical it would be very, very different. Before cellphones; before instant gratification thing..there was critical thinking..and intuition (not instincts). I'm not patient about any of it. I knew it would happen. Zen is better than patience.
Slow and methodical is fine so long as the conviction is obtained. Given how Trump uses crowd source rage and public defamation as weapons to muddy the legal waters, stealth is key to bringing him down.
In Oregon:
“Lottery dollars fund education, economic growth, state parks, natural habitats, veteran services, and Outdoor School. Dollars are also allocated to gambling addiction treatment and awareness throughout the state.”
But I digress. Trevor is right.
If it can be shown that the budgets receiving money from the lottery don't also end up getting cut by an equal amount so that it just changes where the money comes from, then I'm all for it. I think there's a Last Week Tonight about it.

Most states thats how its supposed to work, but most the time it gets diverted so yes the gambling money goes to that but then they just pull normal funds out to use for something else.

@@mumuvp nah I think it was musically which is succeeded by TikTok. but first time I heard this type of content was from dubsmash where people without any editing skill can put video a with different audio. basically that's what I think got that exposer. old dialouge or music now can be act the way you want without fearing of copyright. as site itself deals with that.
I think youtube is the only social media platform that copied tiktok correctly by simply adding shorts without ruining their original formula

I’m confused why we’d need public support to convict him of the crimes he’s committed. His supporters have already made up their minds; unfortunately it doesn’t appear that even though we could hand them all the evidence of proof of his wrong-doings, they’d still blindly support him.
