    I have two of these lawnmowers,they work very well.Personal Pace is the best of self propelled systems.It goes when you go,it stops when you stop.
    This mower does have a few issues that I would change-the wires hanging off the handle is a problem waiting to catch on bushes etc.I wish the wheel height adjustment was a single point lever.Those wheel adjustment mechanisms are prone to rust and bending.And I wish the wheels had ball bearings,it would glide better with less wear of the drive belt.But no lawnmower is perfect,so I’ll settle for a few issues to have a powerful and strong battery mower that cuts through the thickest grass.

    Thanks for the excellent review of the Toro 60v cordless lawnmower. I just purchased one and after using it several times I am very impressed with the cutting/mulching of the grass and the run time. I plan on buying the Toro 60v cordless snowblower to use as my main unit keeping my gas snowblower as a backup.

    Great mower the only 2 negatives are the charge time for the battery in 2.5hrs it will mow about 2/5 acre. The other is you have to adjust all 4 wheels for mow height. Other than that it's better than most mowers I've tried.

    I like the 60 volt platform ... I went with the #21357 model. It too is self propelled, it however has the traditional self propell bail lever you pull up from the bottom. It also has "more traditional wheels". My neighbor has one like in the video, the wheels are more aggressive, and isn't really needed and about 40 minutes of run time. The #21357's traditional wheels don't have the traction, does the job and with the 5 amp battery runs for about 50 minutes, with the 7.5 amp battery just over 70 minutes ... wheels are the only difference if you get down to it. The more aggressive wheels take more power to operate with. The personal pace, I don't care for it, it works great ... but the mower gives the impression of always wanting to run away from you.

    For someone with a lot of grass to cut, many hours weekly during the peak season, 40 or 50 minutes of cutting time doesn't cut it. Neither does several hundreds of dollars for each extra battery you'll need to do do your job.

    I have had the Toro 22" 60v. I was hoping I would like this lawn mower but I don't. It doesn't pick up grass clippings well and now it is making a squeaking noise from the drive wheels and it's only going on the 3rd year. I have a small yard. I'm considering going back to another Honda gas lawn mower which I had for almost 20 years.

  • @tomdolton2960
    @tomdolton2960 2 роки тому +3

    In comparison to the Honda's performance and its performance it sounds like it's fan blade needs to be adjusted more to suck stronger it also sounds like it needs at least about roughly 750 RPM more Overall between The Choice of buying a a cordless mower I'd rather just build my own It would be able to run a lot longer than 40 minutes Is to be competitive to compete with doing lawns a mower needs to be able to at least go for 3 hours on one battery For maximum performance it needs to go 5 to be commercial per battery

    I've had toros gas mowers for 20 years. They have held up well, some repairs but that's expected. Neighbor has this mower, his issue can't do lawn on one battery charge. I've estimated our lawns at about 7,800 sq ft. My lawn takes about 40 to 45 minutes. I don't see side discharge? If this is strictly mulch or bag I'll pass. Our garbage won't take clippings so you have to take them somewhere wasting gas and time. My toros never mulched very well thus need side discharge.

  • @BrownsvilleNotification

    Well I will say these battery mowers may have some purpose but overall these mowers don't even compare to their gas counterpart. I do own the newer 60v Toro and after a year of ownership defintely regretting buying for my application, they just don't have the power to create suction that helps lift and cut the grass evenly. I think on a perfectly sculpted lawn with no dips or bumps, these could be a good solution or a very small yard but for most lawns you can invest in a gas mower , much cheaper and achieve have much better results. My comment is not to bash Toro cause its a really nice product, it's just not a replacement to gas in most cases. Personally I think the main advantage is cutting the grass early without annoying neighbours.

    thanks for this thorough review. Quick question: i saw another review of this exact mower where it said that it doesn't bag very well and lots of grass clippings are left in the lawn due to poor thrust and shoot angle issues. I don't mulch my lawn and always bag so the quality of bagging, especially leafs in the fall matters a lot to me. Thanks!

    • @EnthusiastsGarage
      @EnthusiastsGarage  Рік тому +2

      I would say it’s average for bagging. Handled the deep leaves decently well.

  • @GaryWeeks-ts7tb
    @GaryWeeks-ts7tb Рік тому

    I have read reviews where the clippings do not effectively make it into the bag, however, I've found that to bag effectively with my Toro Recycler 21466 22 in 60 V, I swap the mulching blade with a hi-lift blade. The mulching blade only works best when the Toro is in recycler mode where the bag is not used, and of course you don't let the grass get too high between mowings. This is my usual mowing configuration. But sometimes you need to bag (think leaves). With the hi-lift blade (SureFit High Lift Blade Replacement for Toro 104-8697-03 108-9464-02P 131-4547-03 22" Deck Recycler Lawn Mowers - from Amazon) there is no issue with the clippings not making it into the bag. However, the mower works harder with this blade, so run-time is noticeably reduced. Fortunately, I also bought the Toro 60V snowblower with the 7.5 Ah battery, so I have that to swap in when needed.

    I tried a few battery mowers and they pretty much cut the same. The only way to get it to look like gas mowed yard was to do a mod on my mower which I don't recommend as it will void the warranty. I will never go back to gas ever. But don't buy an expensive battery mower thinking it will cut like gas cuz it won't. I have already read reviews of people saying the new Milwaukee doesn't cut to one inch, more like inch and a half. We shall see.

    What do they mean by "Brushless"?

    • @commandertaco1762
      @commandertaco1762 10 місяців тому +1

      Brushed motors basically have a contact (or brush) extending from the drive shaft to touch a contact on the fixed part of the motor which provides electricity to spin the motor. A brushless motor is basically a drive shaft that doesn't have those brushes. It does not have anything touching the ridged part, which does not spin. This means there is one less thing to worry about wearing out and allows the motor to run longer and faster than its brushed counterpart. It also allows the computer to control how fast the motor is spinning to adjust to the work load

    You can tell this was a promotion. Everything has some negatives in the review. I have one of these, and I have things I do not like about it. It is one of the few mowers that you have to adjust each wheel for height. The charger needs improvement, nothing close the quality EGO has. This is a passive charger so no fan to cool it so the charger takes a long time. I have an EGO system, and a Toro, but not the EGO mower just the other lawn stuff. The charger, and the battery are far superior to the Toro. One more thing. See Consumer Reports on the battery charger. It gives 1 out of 5. That is bad.

    • @LL-mt2nz
      @LL-mt2nz 7 місяців тому

      The charger does have a fan. CR just rates charge time. But a slower charge will greatly extend the life of lithium batteries. Toro does have chargers greater than 2 amps. The one wheel height adjusters advantage is that there is no flex in the deck for a better cut. I also own one of these. Toro delivered better cut bar none
