Love what you did with this car to bring it back to life! I love watching all of your videos, I have learned so much by following your techniques. Can't wait to see what you do next! Keep up the good work!
This was informative video you made. I did enjoy you painting the interior made look more realistic. The car came wonderful and looks cool too. I would like to see more. Thank you.
he seems to prefer painting cars that previously had decals just one colour, like the 80s ford bronco that had a really cool ableit very worn paint job, he painted it a straight blue when originally it was black, red and yellow. i think that was one of his more recent ones too
have you considered using photoshop or any other software to recreate the decals? then scale down and print on sticky paper you can cut out with sharp blade.
I love it! I'm currently working on turning a 1968 Chevy Nova into a Super Stock Car, I'm going to repaint it, do a wheel swap with the front wheels, add a Cowl induction hood scoop, full roll cage, sponsor stickers all over it, and a wheelie bar. When I'm done with it I'll have to post a video of it.
i had the black version of this model as a kid. i always thought these Fast 111s had cooler body styling than HW or MB, even on same-model cars, plus they all had super-fast style axels, and of course the all-unique license plate gimmick 😅
I've bought and retorted a few pairs of trainers that I picked up in charity shops in England, I've worn them until they were bin able, but they were technically works of art when compared to before and after, the white Nikes I restored were covered in plaster and had cobwebs in them, I felt a bit uneasy picking them up with my bare hands, after blasting them under the tap , soaking them in warm water then scrubbing them with creme cleaner they were looking promising, I reckon some one wore them to work once when they were pretty new and ruined them, then just wore them as work shoes..Anyway!! They went in to the washing machine,, when they came out I repainted them, sewed the rip at the back up, dried them and lacquered them... and they looked Brand new!! I was so proud and excited about it I ended up telling a girl.. A complete stranger on the bus!! She couldn't believe how proud of my trainers I was!!! (I think she missed the point! A- haaaar haaaar haaaar! It was funny! She was a lovely girl!!)
Not quite on topic but I ave made a model of a typical workshop/garage and have had so much satisfaction from photographing my models after completion in it. I have some tiny cameras and the ground level shots are great. Was simple to do and a neat way of recording your hard work.
A perfect example where you could laser cut the firebird onto the hood prior to painting...that would be a sweet effect. You could even laser cut the bird...lay down a base coat of gold...then a top coat of black, and sand at the bird to reveal the gold. :)
This red line restoration episode is a 2013 release. It's hard to believe just how much I've missed. This has a strong reference of what I used to keep and assemble. I used to have a 1/24th plastic scale model Shelby Charger. I even applied decals on this plastic scale model car.
HW, when I saw the title, I thought I was going to get to see all kinds of decals and fine line painting. Ah well. Maybe in another vid? Thanks. I enjoy your channel...
Use modeling clay to fill the inside of the windshield plastic, pull it out and then use that as a vacuform buck. The result will be an exact dupe of the original windshield. Use something like .003 clear PETG and you will have a new windshield. Used to do that to make replacement windshield back when I was doing 1:43 slot cars.
really cool video... I don't like the wheels. but that's my opinion.. the interior looks really smart. just found your channel. liking it so far thank you
Another great video. Car looks great in my opinion, but I would've also painted the Pontiac Badge on the front of the car red as well. Minor thing I know, but would've accented the interior well I think. Anyways great work as always, look forward to the next one!
chipped metal, usually kids misstreat their toys alot and can get it to metal getting chipped and scrapped which is very concerning in a little toy like this
Today I saw a new firebird in the store when I picked up some mustangs, it looks like the same body. Do they use the same molds to make cars for many years and is it possible to pull the wind shield from a new .94 cent car to replace a vintage cars glass.
Hey! Not sure if you'll see this but I'd love for you to revisit this car and add the Firebird decal to the front and cut the top panels to get that T top look.
Watching some of your older videos and I had forgotten you used a Ferrari F-40 from blvd series on this Kenner.. guess it was Mattels loss of their license to produce Ferrari but man I saw one of these go for 50 bucks recently. Willing to bet a lot of us probably drilled out Ferraris and other castings 5-7 yrs ago that now are rare and pricey. Anyway still love the custom. Since we moved I can't find the Dairy you made but I am gonna go back through a bunch of old jammers and find it. That thing had the coolest rust/weathered look.
Have you tried soda blasting yo clean the shell and base? Very pleasing results. I have also been taking a copy of wheels I like in silicon. This allows me to cast a set of wheels in any style I choose from my library of moulds.
I just saw that you said you couldn't do anything about a yellow windshield. I think there's a way to fix that. I'm a big sneaker collector and I love to restore sneakers. Sometimes part of the translucent sole on Jordan's gets yellow(something that can't be wiped off) so we use 40 volume cream salon care. Put a small layer on the soles, cover it with plastic wrap, and set it out in the sun. I don't know why it works but it does. Just a thought. Thought it might help you
I've been doing some like a work in progress.where a door and fender is a different color to make it look like a borrowed door and fender.it's all fun to do.
The interior looks much better but the paint on the body turned it into a whole new car. Nice work!
And I thought I was cool, painting cars with nail polish
Love what you did with this car to bring it back to life! I love watching all of your videos, I have learned so much by following your techniques. Can't wait to see what you do next! Keep up the good work!
I owned this one and had many hours of enjoyment with it. Beautiful Custom rebuild.
I liked the pop of the original seats but your wash adds to the realism.
This was informative video you made. I did enjoy you painting the interior made look more realistic. The car came wonderful and looks cool too. I would like to see more. Thank you.
This car turned out awesome. The Ferrari tires made the car look completely different, like a newer model. Epic work
man to bad you can't put firebird decal on hood !!!!
I had this car as a kid and yes a firebird on this restoration would have made it an awesome project!
Those wheels are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 makes it look so much better I've watched almost all the custom paint videos this has to be in my top 5
Wow - those side pipes really pop after the paint job. I didn't even notice them in the before pic. Nice job!
needs the bird, not that hideous original one, but the real one.
I agree
Definitely!
That first design was cool!
I do remember having this car as a kid. Great video!!
I think it'd b cool to cut the top so u have a T top on it
agreed!
my thoughts exactly
Cole Croley not really , cut if with a dremel , then sand it with metal files
Landon Klick Yeah. That would be sick!
Kenner actually did a good job on the body casting for this Trans am. I like the restoration!
i thought the original paint had more appeal
Most of the bare metal ones are not good so are the colours he goes with
he seems to prefer painting cars that previously had decals just one colour, like the 80s ford bronco that had a really cool ableit very worn paint job, he painted it a straight blue when originally it was black, red and yellow. i think that was one of his more recent ones too
Funny

Those Kenner cars always had a stupid looking rear bumper that didn't look right.
Coffee Shark ikr
All They Found Was A Boot just chop it off with a saw...
It also made it impossible to put them in a carry case designed for Hot Wheels or even Matchbox cars.
If I'm not mistaken they were all supposed to have custom license plates..that's why the bumper is enlarged. They were called "Fast 111's" (Fast Ones)
That was to accommodate a full license plate
Awesome job thanks for sharing. I have a box of old Kenner Fast 111’s I think I’m going to try repainting some. Thanks for the advice
I love the paint job on that car and the wheels look perfect.
I had this! Totally forgot about this. Trans Ams and Firebirds were huge back then...
Found your channel recently and I’ve been watching your vids non stop, but so far this has been my favorite one.
Car looks awesome now
That's cool, the flat black really made the chrome bits pop out more
As always...magnificent work...it not only have a new life, it now also looks more beast than ever...great video...

i really like repaint and restoration videos .. wish to see more of them
I appreciate that... thanks for watching.
Very nice restoration. Liked the ideas with the interior too :)
The wheels really make this car pop....as usual....NICE!!!!!!
A perfect example where you could laser cut the firebird onto the hood prior to painting...that would be a sweet effect. You could even laser cut the bird...lay down a base coat of gold...then a top coat of black, and sand at the bird to reveal the gold. :)
Can't wait to start this hobby someday.
Once the painted interior had been placed into the car, it made an enormous change to the car's look.
Your vids are great. True customs, not just a wheel swap. Not that there's anything wrong with wheel swaps, just saying...
I had this car as a kid! I liked it so much I bought two of them when I could've bought two different cars :D
Turned out great! The firebird painted originally didn't look good at any rate. The black with red interior came out awesome.
I want! That came out amazing. And you should use your laser and make a firebird emblem.
Awesome job.
I would like to see more like this.
the one i have looks exactly like yours did before you painted it i’m pretty sure all of them do now lol it was my favorite
This red line restoration episode is a 2013 release. It's hard to believe just how much I've missed. This has a strong reference of what I used to keep and assemble. I used to have a 1/24th plastic scale model Shelby Charger. I even applied decals on this plastic scale model car.
It has a great period look to it. Nice job.
Really enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work.
Enjoy your videos. Like to see more of these
HW, when I saw the title, I thought I was going to get to see all kinds of decals and fine line painting. Ah well. Maybe in another vid? Thanks. I enjoy your channel...

The flat back looks amazing
I like your hot wheel customization videos😉.
You should have painted around the decals as the 80's thing, is what made it special! Anyone can have a matte black firebird.
i love this one, black, simple and badass, K2000 spirit, really nice
2013 was the best year of my life.
Please do and thanks for watching.
really cool video... I don't like the wheels. but that's my opinion.. the interior looks really smart. just found your channel. liking it so far thank you
Really enjoying these!
Cool vid, really dig the custom stuff nice work!
I kind of liked the before a little better but both are good. 👍 nice job, bro
Can you do a remake of a Buick Grand National ?
Ik I'm late but damn! That's awesome! That odd thing on the back kinda killed it tho
“Do you work tomorrow?”
“Yes I do, 6:30am”
“Are you gonna binge BareMetalHW till then?”
“Probably, why?”
Looks so badass, nice job man
Nice job! Another color idea would be metallic gold as I recall a lot of Firebirds from the late 70’s in that color.
wheels are awesome and it start to look like a Drag car,Respect and i really want one car like this one :D
Smoky & The Bandit !?
Looks great with that interior
Does the Buffing wheel work on windshields to get rid of scratches?
your vids are awesome dood love what you do to the cars
Is it me or is there a gap between the windscreen and the roof?
I think you're right. Just noticed that.
Another great video. Car looks great in my opinion, but I would've also painted the Pontiac Badge on the front of the car red as well. Minor thing I know, but would've accented the interior well I think. Anyways great work as always, look forward to the next one!
Have you ever considered using luminous paint on the headlights and interior?
you said you drilled out the rivets holding the car together, what do you use to assemble the car back together
Awful to awesome in less than 5 minutes... the wheel swap was perfect! Keep it up!
"Check it for major damage"??? What were you looking for, a bent frame?
chipped metal, usually kids misstreat their toys alot and can get it to metal getting chipped and scrapped which is very concerning in a little toy like this
Awesome !! Love how it turned out! Keep up the good work
Great job ! would love to see more vids like this
That came out really nice
Perfect choice for the color!!!👌😉
Today I saw a new firebird in the store when I picked up some mustangs, it looks like the same body. Do they use the same molds to make cars for many years and is it possible to pull the wind shield from a new .94 cent car to replace a vintage cars glass.
Another Awesome build!!
nice work,it looks good in black...
Hey! Not sure if you'll see this but I'd love for you to revisit this car and add the Firebird decal to the front and cut the top panels to get that T top look.
What!?!?!? No screaming chicken on the hood? ;-)
In love with this channel!
You can tell by the back bumper it was a fast ones line each car had a one of a kind license plate
Full resolution on that one would have been awesome, nice car
Watching some of your older videos and I had forgotten you used a Ferrari F-40 from blvd series on this Kenner.. guess it was Mattels loss of their license to produce Ferrari but man I saw one of these go for 50 bucks recently. What size screws did you use for reassembly of the Kenner Car?
Have you tried soda blasting yo clean the shell and base? Very pleasing results. I have also been taking a copy of wheels I like in silicon. This allows me to cast a set of wheels in any style I choose from my library of moulds.
Have not tried soda blasting... I have only ever seen them in large rigs... do they make a small version?
baremetalHW yes. they make a handheld unit. try Harbor Freight.
I like how when a 5 year old child does it it’s called “wear and tear” but when a 50 year old guy does it it’s called “patina” lmao.
how do you put the bottoms back on
I just saw that you said you couldn't do anything about a yellow windshield. Thought it might help you
why do you keep the gap from the wheels to body so great?
Very nice! Maybe some gloss black for the T-tops and color the marker lights.
Hey I was wondering what would you charge to redo some hot wheels and you can use for videos and your Discretion on paint as well
Nice wheel choice. Very appropriate.
Have you thought about using the new Greenlight set's of wheels
Awesome job. Very informative as well. More more more!
Tamiya makes a window tint for rc cars in spray cans I wonder if this could work to cover the plastic windshield
I've been doing some like a work in progress.where a door and fender is a different color to make it look like a borrowed door and fender.it's all fun to do.
How do you re-attach the body for the finished product?
Personally I would have changed the orange of the tail lights to red, but that's just me. Another great car!
Great job...great videos.
just a question du u Polish ur window if yes with u use
