That's the best deal I've ever seen! Today I went to a back yard sale and in my place the tools cost a lot. Just a normal used nail hammer coust 5$ I think all the stuff you have bought for 25$ is worth like 600$ in my place no joke
I don't need to tell you that you shouldn't rob people !! You already know how good that deal is. The first thing I thought of when I seen the thumbnail picture was ...Wow , the stuff I could forge out of that pile.
lol that is a nice haul, those hammers are all cool. pri bars and tire irons are often a mild 0.5 to 0.7 steel but are great for making BBQ tongs or fuller springs when you make hearty hole tools with ring springs. Bu awesome haul.
In the States we call those bars "pinch bars". They are most commonly made from low allow, crome-moly steel with between roughly .3% and .4% carbon. As such, they will harden up a bit but they are not tool steel. They will be perfectly acceptable for making punches and drifts from.
Awesome haul, I gotta start going where you go, made my days haul seem expensive.... Still, for 168 Canuckistan Copecs I managed a belt sander, 5 inch bench grinder, makita jitterbug sander, a pwax/polisher, 5 ft level, old wilton scout 4in vice, some vice clamps, couple automotive bearing push/pullers, couple L rulers/levels, 2 planers, old school coleman lantern with metal case and 3 new unopoened wicks and filter, couple of oiling cans, jumper cables, perfectly worn in leather gloved (which fit like....well, you know), tool belt, 2 ammunition cases (now tool boxes), knife sharpener jig, and a few random bits and bobs. God I love summer and its garage/estate sales! But you sir, outdid me on this one! Well done :) PS: I do find it a bit morbidly funny that I now look forward to old guys dying without a son, the sons always take the good stuff, lol PSS: Yes I'm up this early on Sunday to go to another estate sale, not church :P
The pretty cool hammer is a mallet. It is especially made of leaded Steel for a froe. A froe and mallet are used for making shakes. You have a long knife blade with an L shape handle coming out of it. You lay it on the Block and you hit the blade with the mallet which is soft so it does not break the blade or the fro. There you go. That's the way they used to make shakes before machines . it's a heck of a lot of work and each time you have to flip the block over so the shakes are angles.
Time to get hammered!! Many years ago I would go to auctions in Minnesota and Wisconsin and find deals like that and had to pass on quite A few tons of tools and equipment because I just couldn't fit anymore on the truck. One day loadout and it was too far to go unload and return. Bought several trailers that I didn't need just to haul home more stuff! At 66 I'm about done anyway but auctions aren't what they used to be.
The clamps with the angle iron welded on is for getting boiler tube or pipes lined up to weld. the bars with point on one end and flat on the other are sleever bars .Just about every trade uses them.Looks like you bought what a pipe fitter or boiler maker packed home off of a few jobs
They are sleever bars it's what a ironworker use to walk iron and to line up points so bolts will make the red beater with the washer welded to it is also a Ironworkers beater the octagon sleever bars are better than round sleever bars octagon bars bite a hole you don't have to worry about any slippage and you can stand on that sleever bar
Whoa a BOSCH large angle grinder for nothing? Those things are indestructible! And really comfortable. Please tell me what I should look for when I’m looking for a similar auction.
Right on man! Start forging you will love it! Great score on your end! Im a newbie blksmth my self always love to see new people getting into this amazing craft! Dont give up with failure will come great success!
Can I have some clamps??? I really need some lol... damn good haul!!!! The angle iron clamps could come in handy when putting steel together for Damascus and also for the handle glue up!!! If you're planning on building a forge, save some of the pry bars, punches, and drifts! Perfect for a hydraulic press jigs! So would sledges lol 😂 or start an eBay store and sell each thing for $5 minimum and shipping, you'd get at least 2,500 back One of the best hauls I've ever seen!!!
...don't destroy some of the better tools....they are hard to come by & peeps will pay TOP DOLLAR for that!! SELL SOME OF THEM & BUY SOME NEW EQUIPMENT FOR YOURSELF!!!!
Correct, all except the c-clamps with angles welded on, those are for pipe work. Of course these tools could be used in boilermakers, pipe fitter or ironworkers trades (not steel workers). More than likely a large contractor is getting rid of there used tools. Most of those would be deemed unsafe. Split hammer handles, rounded hammer heads, sleever bars that the points are flattened. Great score!
wow, awesome score!.im jelous but ive gotten some good deals too;) the pry bars and jack hammer bits? are probably s7? id suggest selling the stuff you dont want instead of using it for scrap,.and buying some steel with the money you make if you want
No we don't hate you, but what you have is worth thousands of dollars ! Tools are not cheep !I was in the trades for years.I never had any more then 10 hammers . I had a pick or pry bar 5ft long 1inch. Diameter it cost 150.00 Good job.
I'd redress some of those hammers and keep them as hammers. You could probably get 5-8 bucks a hammer if you clean them up a little. People like old hammers.
you really got triggered? you hurt my feelings. say sorry. mommy says people like me are not dumb, just special. by the time he sells all that shit it aint even worth the time and effort unless he sells it all to your dumbass since you seem excited over used buckets.
DUUUUDE!!!! Nice haul. I think we all hate you now... HAHA
Robert Webb lmao
Yap. we all hate him right now
the first thing i thought lol envy jealous

i think some drug addict stole it from a construction site and sold it to the first guy he found super cheap
I am Green with Envy, it took me 66 years to gather 60 or so hammers and you scored that in ONE FRICKEN DAY ! ! !
My wife would freak out...she drags me away from auctions. What a steal for the money!
Wow! Outstanding! You can't buy the empty buckets for $25. You win the Internet for today.
Excellent score! Lay it all out on a table and show us!
I don't need to tell you that you shouldn't rob people !! You already know how good that deal is. The first thing I thought of when I seen the thumbnail picture was ...Wow , the stuff I could forge out of that pile.
Omg, awesome deal! 400$ would be cheap for all that tools. Great score, bravo.

Every one of those clamps that have angle on are used to fit 2 tubes together perfectly square to weld
Awesome haul, I gotta start going where you go, made my days haul seem expensive....

Munro

Munro
+walter or a pinch bar. I was surprised to find out there worth a few bucks.
Those bars are called sleever bars
a Spud or spud wrench (has built in open end wrench) is what they're called on the job. Proper name are Bull pin or hex connector...

Yeah me and my brothers have been hitting up estate and garage sales to pick up blacksmithing tools. We are doing good but not that good...wow.

Hey mate those punch tools your talking about are called podgy bars and generally used by riggers and are generally spring steel

Wow you did do well. Nice one :)
The buckets alone are worth almost $25

11 buckets @ $2 a piece is almost $25. Regardless of their actual value, you missed the whole point anyway, dumbass.
you really got triggered? you hurt my feelings. say sorry. mommy says people like me are not dumb, just special. by the time he sells all that shit it aint even worth the time and effort unless he sells it all to your dumbass since you seem excited over used buckets.
