The old man worked for dantrans back in 1988 and again about 15 years ago. I went with him every chance i got. Was a pretty awesome job. Owners were a bit rude tho. Get that everywhere in this industry tho
That was awesome reversing. it looked like u u turned a quarter to the left for 2 or 3 seconds the most, then a full lock to the right to straighten it so u could come out. That was A+ reversing in a B double alright
Thanks Mat. There's not many days when I don't have to do this. Some days I have to do it a few times. And occasionally I have to do it on the blind side, which is very challenging with no back window in the cab. All in a day's work, no big deal to me now after a lifetime of driving, and I still enjoy it.
Thanks Jarrod. Good luck with your MC mate. It takes a looong time and a lot of practice to feel comfortable and get the hang of how it works. Every opportunity you get to practice reversing, do it. It's the only way to learn. Don't rush things, take your time. When reversing, go slow, and don't oversteer. Not everyone can do this but I tell people to try to imagine lines on the ground where you want your trailers to go when reversing, and follow them. Some can and some can't. Just a suggestion, that's all. Main thing is don't stress and worry, stay calm. All the best mate.
I guess it's a matter of what you get used to over a long period of time. I've been doing it all my life so it has become second nature to me. I don't even have to think about it, it just happens while I sit there and watch.

I even can't always reversing a single trailer properly in ETS 2. Haha..

Drive a 19 meter myself and they are a prick to reverse
