Wow it looks easy here lol. I can't even drive these trailers in the Truck Simulator game with the 3rd person camera 😂 love watching truckers back into tricky spots. Mad respect!
because it is easy. learn the fundamentals first and its simple. once you understand where the trailer needs to be positioned before reversing and how the first trailer turns the second trailer and how the cab turns the first trailer. see how he pulled up paralell to the loading dock and when his first wheel of his last trailers tri axel was even with it. thats when he started to lock and reverse.
You have clearly done this once or twice before, I'm officially impressed. I drive a regular truck with the same kind of trailer as your B trailer, and only two axles in the dolly. I would never have been able to do it that easily with a B-Double.
Nice work 👌 Slow, steady, precise... The short cabover certainly helps too 😊 Doing the same thing over and over in the same yards helps, but making it an artform is something that not many can do ! Its nice to see operators taking pride in their abilities 😊 From another fellow b double operator of 25 years from general freight to tippers, Well done mate 👏
Nice work! Back when B Doubles were first introduced, they said "You'll always have to un-couple them to reverse!" Well, skilled drivers proved that wrong pretty quickly. In defense of the people saying, it back then you had little short B trailers that did make it a bit trickier. Still, really impressive work.
It's really not that hard. Obviously takes some skill. I drive for ups and I'm able to back up a double but our sets have a dolly in between do there's 3 different shift points while he only has 2. Huge difference in difficulty
@Len_M. That doesnt work when trying to go around corners, thats only for straight lines. Easiest way i learnt was to make the A trailer do what the prime mover does in a normal reverse and dont think about the truck
I can back a single 18 wheeler up without pulling forward, but I've never tried it with two and certainly not three as some of the shots seems to indicate. Amazing. I requires a natural ability of interpreting spatial relations.
3? Only Australia has something like that, -- and more. B-double / 2 trailers / semi's in this configuration doesn't take long to ~if not master, atleast do comfortably. Only a bit harder than a single semi. I'd say - difficulty wice, it's in the middle of single semi, and backing up a single drawbar trailer where the front axle turns on its own. ( I chose to take my certificate - driving license with drawbar trailer, instead of semi. Much easier to connect and dismount than a Semi, but much harder to reverse with and park. Don't know about in the US, but in Norway its an option, what configuration you want to drive on your "big day".)
We’ll done fella I can put a five axle dog anywhere but had a go at backing up a B double a couple of weeks back whole different ball game that was an impressive job especially coming at 90 degrees I hope they’re looking after you well to keep you on

I don't drive for Aldi anymore but I do remember we had a few of those, there were some funny ones, usually in older/existing buildings or large shopping centres. Freestanding designed stores typically were ok. Had a workmate there from London actually, told me all about it.
