  • A really good, dirt cheap, wireless remote control relay module that can be used to trigger 12VDC circuits in cars or boats, as well as 110VAC or 220VAC circuits. The wireless remote control relay module can be triggered momentarily, latch ON / OFF, or set for delay off between 5 & 15 seconds. An extremely useful gadget. Enjoy the video!

    If you're interested in the 12v transformerless power supply shown in this video, then you can find the schematic at the link below. To use with 220v, reduce the poly capacitor value to 1/2 the value shown, with a rating of at least 400v. If any resistors get too hot, increase the wattage. Only supply power to the circuit after it's connected to the module.

    Sweet devices! Hacking the remote also gives you infinite options to extend it with a microcontroller or just wire in an external trigger button/activation trigger, like a sensor.

    very thorough presentation. it has me wanting to view what else you've posted.
    question ... suppose you have several loads you wish to rf switch on-off all within 200' of each other.
    when you push the fob button wont all of the loads turn on ?
    in your vid i was watching for a way to 'code' the load , say with 8-bits, or via the means Pic Basic
    language offers to use an ascii code-word to protect your load from a stray rf signal. i mean 315 and 433
    are a crowded rf band for consumers.
    i can think of one common 'code' practice is alreadly in effect for cars so when
    you are in the parking lot only your car blink- lights up and no one elses as you approach it on foot.
    ps - could you clarify the 'paypal donation' . last time i checked with patreon it was not clear
    if a donation was a 1-time thing or whether one would be charged an amount for every viewing
    of any of your vid's.

      If you have several loads, then definitely buy a 4 channel version, also cheap. I only use PayPal for channel donations. Thanks for watching Bob!

      What about a simple wifi AC outlet primed from Amazon for $10 in one day? Instead of a 300 foot range range is unlimited over the Interwebs. Banggood is now charging about a 20% shipping fee.

    A really great use for these are as a 'wireless' wall switch. I saw a commercial unit that featured a regular wall swithc just glued or sotherwise mounted to a thick stone wall. There was only power going to the ceiling light and this avoided running cables through the 10ft wall tothe ceiling.
    I had 3d printed a switch that acomodated a similar switch with my first 3d printer, But there are much better designs out thre now and for free.
    And now I use is for one of my own renovations to add lighting options at almost no cost and wires.
    Thanks for the reminder.

    Interesting video ENM! I would be interested to see how the module gets wired into a car in order to start the engine remotely. I had one of these systems in a car years ago & it came in real handy during the winter. Happy Holidays to you & your family!

    It would probably be safer and simpler to use 12v lighting, with a ac to 12vDC converter, to power the device, and the light, I have 12v lighting, with battery bank, solar charged, for home lighting, nearly anything around the house, is available in. Low voltage DC, most is DC anyway, I have a 4way remote relay similar to this, I plan it use, maybe a door lock, and certain lights, I haven't decided yet, awesome video, are you going to go further , as in part two?

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  3 роки тому +1

      I only do part 2's if a video does very well, at least tens of thousands of views. As for the relay, I've never had any problems switching AC mains. Thanks for watching James!

    Can you add an external antenna to the receiver to extend it's range?

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  3 роки тому

      I think they use an 1/8 wave antenna, so using a 1/4 wave antenna in place of what's used, will extend range. You can find antenna calculators online. Thanks for watching!

    I do not think you can stuff that module and the DC supply in a standard box and keep the switch. Even if you remove the switch it will be almost impossible. I have tried doing it with similar devices and with all the wires and connectors and the switch it was a struggle. The devices I used were a lot smaller and it was 120V, not requiring a DC supply. Did you consider using a smart bulb in the lighting fixture. . Using the bulbs app and a smart phone you could control it from anywhere. I you have Amazon Alexa or a Google Mini you have voice control.

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  3 роки тому +1

      No. It goes by the light fixture. Plenty of room inside a round plastic box if the only wires inside go to the light.

    Really sorry for the nature of this question, but: I have picked up a $15(ish) alarm from Amazon which is pretty good for my motorbike/ebike. Could this be adapted to power a loud motorbike horn without being the biggest project in the world? www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073VKMJDH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    I have a lot to learn about relays/switches/amps/volts/DC/AC it seems but in theory to power a 12v Denali sound bomb 120db, is this manageable ?
