How come it also says 60 watt (saw that on a site somewhere). I'm new to the laser thing, is that just another way they rated it, or peak power or something? Or something different all together
It used to be common for companies to advertise the total power consumed, to make their diode lasers seem more powerful than they are. So you'd see a "5 watt diode, 55 watt laser engraver" marketed, when really it only had a 5 watt laser. It seems with the newer 10 watt, 20 watt, and even 40 watt diodes that companies have mostly gotten away from that confusing "total power" marketing, thankfully.
