Yeh it's true miguel may be only one to have mastered both techniques from both dojos as of season 4. The same can also be said for eli aka. Hawk and robby as of cobra kai
Miguel has always been the Chosen one. He fought his way through almost dying. He fought the Coma. He kept fighting to show his loyalty to Johnny. He fought Kyler even after coming out of a wheel chair. He still fought even after what had happened to him in the Halloween party. Miguel is the character that shows that with hard work, loyalty, knowledge between mercy and honour and the power to make things just and fair is the certain qualities of a true champion. As much as I love Hawk the most, Miguel will always be the greatest character in my heart.
@Kyle Levi true, but Daniel always felt like a d...,I mean so did Johnny but like Miguel is just amazingly well written and well placed,I would say the same thing for Robbie
@RoMeDS44 hawk wouldn’t have even joined miyagi fang if Miguel hadn’t majorly disagreed with what he was doing this also makes me hate one thing about the season when kreese and cobra Kai confronted eagle fang at the park I don’t get why they had hawk step up to Miguel like that
Johnny did a good job teaching Miguel. Dude is strong as fuck but knows how to use mercy and not let winning cloud his judgement. He’s the best of both Johnny and Daniel.
@@agnikaineverdies7646 weak..? the dude jus came out of a coma and learned how to walk again wdf. He's nowhere near his best or even half his best and still managed to beat kyler. yes, and he respects Daniel as well, as in karate kid, (the first one) Johnny was hesitant to fight and “finish” Daniel, because his sensei wanted him to during the tournament. So Johnny has a warm heart too, just a wrong sensei.
@projekt taku Robby is better as a villain yes since he was the most boring good guy ever Miguel at least has personality but I say hawks is the best arc even though his redemption was a little late Miguel still the best though
Miguel reminds me of Mr. Miyagi in a lot of ways. Out of all the characters in the show, he’s shown the most balance both personality wise and when it comes to karate. Although they aren’t super similar, they share some of the same qualities for sure.
I agree. And believe it or not I think Johnny has more traits of Miyagi(when it comes to teaching) than Daniel. Daniel has the techniques, but Johnny has the motive/personality
@@Basedbrawler how did Johnny had the personality, first of all Daniel had the personality thats why he became a millionaire from a boy to reseda to a millionaire meanwhile Johnny's life turned upside down
If Miguel gets close to both Johnny and Daniel... then not only will he become a much greater fighter than before... but he might also be the most stable of the heroes after this whole thing is said and done.... in a way... Miguel will have gained two ‘Mr. Miyagi’s’ that while different in terms of personality and philosophies... can mix Miguel into a different person altogether than either of them. With Daniel’s more honor based thinking and Johnny’s more tough guy based thinking... in an interesting way... might combine to make Miguel more like Mr. Miyagi than either of them... because if you combine both of their philosophies together... you get what Mr. Miyagi said in The Next Karate Kid... “If must fight.... win.”
I think that the nerd trio is a reflection of Daniel and Johnny. Dimitri was the worst Daniel; comfortable with fighting bullies on another level, via running their mouth and acting like they are cool when they clearly aren't. Eli(Hawk) is obviously Johnny, turning from a ashamed nerd with a scar from a cleft lip surgery from birth, to a confident guy, then to a bully. He is the downfall of Johnny. Miguel is the best of both worlds, not flawless, but the best character in terms of character.
Robbie is both Daniel and Johnny also. This Robbie vs Miguel thing is just beginning. I bet Kreese is calling for military prep students as new recruits and makes a brutal team lead by Robbie and Tory. While Johnny and Daniel struggle to work out their differences. The wait is already too long.
Johnny brought balance to Miguel's life the same way Miyagi brought balance to Daniel's life. Miguel has been a good student, and Johnny a good teacher.....for the most part.
@@rickyleahey9286 Daniel is a shitty person and Miyagi probably knew that but he needed him to bring balance to his life after the death of his wife and child but yes Miyagi did try to bring balance to Daniels life but Daniel’s just naturally an asshole
@@Anonymous-wc1hc , damn you've got some strong emotions about this. To say Daniel is a shitty person though is pushing it too far. Some things in KK1 Daniel had it coming, also thought Johnny was in the right. I think Cobra Kai makes it clear he is not a shitty person....he is just a person.
I was in a car crash. I lost my ability to walk and whilst in there I was diagnosed with both cancer of the spleen and that I was HIV positive. The injury also inflicted me with Epilepsy. 3 weeks later after doing Karate, I am pleased to say I have made a complete recovery.
Kyler is such a pathetic character. He picked Miguel knowing he was hobbled, thinking he'd win. So glad Miguel wasted that loser. A healthy Miguel, he wouldn't even have gone near him. Such a coward.
I think Miguel is the flagship character of Cobra Kai when it comes to the kids' side of things. He is the strongest character, has almost as much character building in him as Hawk does, and he's just the most lovable of the characters in so many ways. Even when Miguel was on the "dark path" he was still lovable. He's also cooler headed than both Johnny and Daniel. He has the best combination of calm, aggression, technique, and power.
The way I see it the reason Miguel had beef with Robby is because Sam and Robby were flirting at dinner, Miguel didn’t like how he was pinning his girl
@@awesome8831 Sam wasn't, but Robby certainly was. He, like Miguel, was smitten by Sam the moment he laid eyes on her - in Robby's case, walking in on her sunbathing.
@@jaxonwoods8181 yess that’s why Sam didn’t understand why Miguel was upset in the first place but a dude can sense when another guy likes there girlfriend and vice versa
Miguel is great person the way he befriend Johnny and the way he stand up for Sam when she. Was pick on at the school? And it was sad in series 3 when he have on feeling in his legs
I think Miguel was one of the most interesting characters in all of television and one of the best fighters for the sole reasons that he picked up the karate moves shown to him when he only saw it once
Miguel is Johnny with a positive teacher and someone who's learned lessons for life in a short time where it took Johnny 20+ years to learn. He's on the path to becoming Johnny 2.0. Which is why they have the line about "I think you could become even better than me."
I still find it inevitable that Robbie and Miguel being in the finals albeit on opposite ends now. But I also predict Kyler's gonna face Hawk or Demitri. Hawk would be out of revenge towards Bruck, if any. But, still. Kyler couldn't beat Miguel at his mediocre and he lost to Miguel at his worst. I'd say "give up" at this point. Kinda want to see Chris, Mitch, Bert, and Nathaniel get some spotlight as well. Also, funny note in Season 3. When Johnny slapped the books out of that kid's hands, a scene later, that same kid is at the Eagle Fang Dojo. I thought that was funny. Anywho, I always thought that of Miguel being basically this combination of Johnny meets Daniel
Yep definitely they're both down a pretty dark path and they are really similar if u think about it for a minute how they both first handedly raised themselves and much more similarities
@@WouldYouEverr Yeah Miguel and Sam just need to be together and not be bothered and I’m glad their back together so they don’t have to act like they like Tory and Robby

@@Kevin-fj3ff How is Miguel’s life perfect? He was being bullied relentlessly and his family was (and still is) living in poverty. Had it not been for Johnny, he’d be in a pretty bad place.
Aren’t, Robby and Miguel just quite the opposites of each other, Robby starts as a bully/thief and then learns the ways of balance from Daniel and becomes the target of “bullies”, and Miguel starts off the bullied but becomes the “bully” eventually, then it all exploded after the fight at school and they both slowly turn back into who they were at the beginning of season one all while still mastering karate from all different points of view and life lessons through their old and new teachers
Interesting theory and evaluation. I think Miguel is more restrained to making better decisions which is a key difference between Daniel and Johnny. Miguel has made numerous mistakes along the way which allows him to grow and nurture into a strong and capable fighter. I am hoping that when they continue revamping the series that many kids will understand the meaning of self defense and protest against bullying. Despite the hardships that many people face, you have to pick yourself back up and keep on fighting the good fight.
@@OdysseyMMA22 , then you are missing the point of the show. Johnny, Daniel, Kreese, Robbie, Samantha, Anthony....who I'm sure they will do something with eventually, those are the characters the show has to depend on, but Kreese is old so there is that.
My dude...you did it again! Great recap, but more importantly, I think you nailed the character of Miguel. He’s Johnny’s disciple, absolutely, but has the ‘purity’ that we identify with Daniel from the first film, and is therefore a hybrid, as you said. It was very dark the way he was portrayed in Season 1 at the very end, because it was out of character for MIGUEL, but he follows Johnny’s teachings. Season 2 was different, because more and more, Miguel was becoming not only Johnny’s moral compass, which he’s really always been, but the moral compass of the whole show. Miguel maintained honor, which is what both Johnny and Daniel seek (the school fight at the end, mercy towards Robbie). He’s not perfect, of course, but he’s noble, loyal and honorable. The mishaps that happened along the way, Miguel hasn’t been blind to them or dismissed them - they’ve stayed with him and guide his path forward, and he voices those feelings when he’s conflicted. In Season 3, Miguel has righteous indignation towards Johnny initially, but we also know that he still looks to his sensei for direction, hence when Johnny, clumsily, attempts to assert control over Miguel regarding his legs, to which Miguel replies ‘Yes, sensei.’ Miguel’s heart and perseverance anchor the rest of Season 3. Humble, but believes in himself and his feelings. The City Council meeting was successful because of him (and Sam). Long rant, sorry...but your take on it is great and I really enjoyed it, and fully agree that he is ‘The Chosen One.’ Well done, yet again, brother! I very much look forward to your next analysis! ...he was name-checked...will we see Vidal again?
Miguel deserves to be the chosen one. He's battled through so much. I was furious when he hurt his back again. Season 3 was really hard on Miguel. I'm very excited to see where he goes in season 4. He needs to be the one to bring it home. He is without a doubt one of the most likeable characters in the whole show.
Finally someone actually realized that Miguel is the Chosen One of Cobra Kai, because of his perfect balance of all three of the dojos, that's why he's the best and most interesting character in Cobra Kai.
Btw the tackle that miguel does on kyler doesnt really work because that if you notice kyler has to assist miguel with the flip and tackle but it looks really cool
Robbie is an excellent genetic specimen physically. Miguel works harder and likely has an intellectual advantage. More creative, insightful, but not not as manipulative.
Robby is a good person making bad decisions you need to look at it from everyone's point of view not just yours. To robby everyone has given up on him and he wants love and the only adult figure he has right now is kreese that's why hes like that !!!
@Ευαγγελος Ζερβας exactly he isnt a bad person at all hes just had a bad home life and needs some stability in his life that's what daniel did for him. He also wanted to go and live with his dad when his mom mentioned it to him but he saw miguel and Johnny bonding so decided to take it out on him. He just really needs a father figure that's what daniel was to him and kreese is now even though kreese isnt a good person robby doesnt seebtaht all he sees is a person helping him out
@@lucyclay2724 both Daniel and Johnny were not teenagers making bad decisions? I am not saying Miguel is flawless and Robby is completely flawed, but Miguel got Johnny's confidence and Daniel's intelligence, making him confident without being a asshole and smart without being a nerd, perfectly balanced, but Robby, even though having good intentions, got both of their hot temper amd ignorance, to the point he was about to punch the guy he almost killed! don't you think it's absurd? And Johnny's reason to join cobra kai was because he hated his stepdad, Daniel got angry at Mr Myiagi, while Robby hate both his father and his former sensei. That's why i think Robby is a mix of the bad parts
Migs is the purest character on the show. He balances the ability to have heart and the courage to stand up when something is wrong. Dude's moral compass is strong, and love that the character provides Johnny with his best self and the ability to seek redemption for his past. The right/wrong conversation he and Johnny have is a much deeper moment than it seems on the surface. Even better it involves my two favorite characters on the show, Miguel (1) and Johnny (2)
It’s gonna be Miguel vs Robby in the finals. Both are hybrids being trained by both cobra Kai and miyagi do. They both have the full extent of training they could have. Also tournament is different from the school battle so it’ll be close, becuase Robby was hurt and almost won in the first tournament
I honestly think Miguel and Robby face off in the semis, after Miguel had been injured in a previous round by Kyler with a cheap/illegal move (maybe a wrestling-style slam targeting Miguel's back); Robby will win their match by targeting Miguel's injury like was done to him last year. That will set up Sam vs. Robby in the finals - a LaRusso versus a Lawrence, for the soul of the valley. Edit: I don't mind S4 rendering this prediction null and void.
Nope Miguel got injured and then went to find his father which I honestly agree with it this is how Miguel will find balance just like hawk did with hawk finding a way to blend hawk and Eli into one personality but for Miguel it's dealing with his issues with his father and mending his relation ship with Johnny I love what they are doing with theses characters Miguel will be a hybrid of both styles like hawk and Robby as he was the one who first began to understand the core principles of miyagi do when eagle fang was training with Daniel . In my opinion Miguel is still the best as he was able to hold his own with and almost defeat an enlightened Eli who was shown to be better than Robby only losing because his back was hurt and as he told Sam he didn't know who he was fighting for anymore Miguel is the first cobra kai and has shown himself to be a dedicated and powerful fighter his ark isnt complete yet his only obstacle is himself and his own self doubt about being good enough for Sam and wether Johnny cares about him once he deals with that he'll be unstoppable
I could see the parallels between Daniel and Miguel. Like everyone else, I really like the Miguel character, he is the underdog of the show, who was a shy kid then turned into a Martial Artist who influenced others overnight to take Karate. My favourite scene was back in season 1 when he stood up for his girl Samantha against the bully Kyler and his friends and kicked their asses, and Sam was infatuated for his heroics, so he stood for honour in a big way.
Daniel already had a lot of the muscle memory prior to training with Mr. Miyagi. He watched videos, but more importantly he played soccer for years and years. Daniel had a remote shot with 2 months of training provided Mr. Miyagi was able to help him establish combat reflexes. Ive seen one other kid pick up Karate like Daniel and he took soccer, too.
I'm like literally on season 1 episode 1 right now that is so obsessed I am with the show and I can't wait for the final season which will be coming out to eat or next year or the year after
Yeah but the difference is Robby is getting taught by krease not his dad... And he seem to have more anger than Miguel, I been told u can't use your anger in a fight cos you get more power when your calm trust me! I felt a different between a punch that full of anger and a punch that is fully concentrated and calm both punches from the same person as my older was teaching him boxing
Does anyone else think that miyagido will be taught the defense and attack now that johnny is part of the miyagido? Daniel is defensive and johnny would be the attack. Since Daniel ran into chozen and learned the truth to miyagido being to defend and attack
I see him just being the good man that he is and him and sam relationship getting stronger and better that I also know they might hit a few bumps with their relationship but will do the best he can to make it work with sam even if her dad and his sensi won't see eye to eye I mean the just got back together and got their dojo to work together that not only growth in both sam and miguel thats growth in their relationship and shows how they won't let no rivalry come between her and him. I also see miguel accepting Johnny being with Carmen he sees Johnny as a father so I think he be happy that Johnny found someone that makes him happy. And reminds him that he's on the right path and if I can be honest I'm sure he saw that coming anyway. He knew Johnny liked his mom so of course he knew they was going to hit it off.
Season 4 was more of a character development season. Season 5 was where Miguel was back to his peak form and showed everyone he can be aggressive and defensive at the same time.
I always liked Miguel because he is badass, athletic, but also a nerd. This is exemplified i n the season three episode 7 scene wher he is taking pictures for Johnny because when they are eating sushi he knows all about it, is knowledgable, and he knows all of the cool things that Ally would like.
Anyone else realise how similar Miguel and miyagi are. Both have a very good and kind hearted side. And both have a dark and aggressive side. Both have learned from their mistakes and past. And have become stronger because of it
@@Jugobox25 yeah 100% man i like it tho but i feel like its annoying how no matter who wins there is always a reason to doubt the legitimacy and in 4 seasons we have no true winner which is annoying
I so totally agree with the idea of Miguel being the chosen one in the Cobra Kai series because of his hard working personality, strong spirit and sharp minded skills!
Miguel has matured SOOO much throughout the show. He’s one of the strongest out of the new generation but he doesn’t let that get to his head and never really left Johnny’s side.
When the first scenes started, I could immediately see Daniel 2.0 in Miguel. It was cool to see a Latino kid play that role, because I was a Latino kid named Daniel. 8 years old when that first movie came out. You just want to root for him.

Miguel is Johnny with a positive teacher and someone who's learned lessons for life in a short time where it took Johnny 20+ years to learn. He's on the path to becoming Johnny 2.0. Which is why they have the line about "I think you could become even better than me."
I can see that!
I have no idea why but Johnny yelling QUIET has to be one of my favorite things in the show.

Spot on. Miguel is the one. And his training combined with Daniel and Johnny will make him unstoppable.

@@rickyleahey9286 I don't care about Robby
@@rickyleahey9286 Johnny and Daniel's story is pretty clear to me. I prefer Johnny and miguel

I don't think robby got the worst of daniel and johnny
And Johnny's reason to join cobra kai was because he hated his stepdad, Daniel got angry at Mr Myiagi, while Robby hate both his father and his former sensei. That's why i think Robby is a mix of the bad parts
Season 5 Miguel: Becoming a LEGEND
Migs is the purest character on the show. He balances the ability to have heart and the courage to stand up when something is wrong. Dude's moral compass is strong, and love that the character provides Johnny with his best self and the ability to seek redemption for his past. The right/wrong conversation he and Johnny have is a much deeper moment than it seems on the surface. Even better it involves my two favorite characters on the show, Miguel (1) and Johnny (2)
I was more expecting because he nows perfect defense from Daniel and perfect offense from Johnny
That would be dope too.
Wow, fantastic analysis!
Thank you so much!
It’s gonna be Miguel vs Robby in the finals. Both are hybrids being trained by both cobra Kai and miyagi do. They both have the full extent of training they could have. Also tournament is different from the school battle so it’ll be close, becuase Robby was hurt and almost won in the first tournament
Agreed. Miguel and Robby are 1-1 so they need that last one to settle the best of 3.
@@StryfetheWarrior Eh. Miguel actually won the second fight since he had Robby pinned. Robby just threw a cheap shot after the fact.
@@StryfetheWarrior for me it's more 2-0 to Miguel, since he won and stopped, only then he is injured
I always rooted for this character out of the rest of them. He IS the main protag.
Yup, the good old days
Daniel already had a lot of the muscle memory prior to training with Mr. Miyagi. He watched videos, but more importantly he played soccer for years and years. Daniel had a remote shot with 2 months of training provided Mr. Miyagi was able to help him establish combat reflexes.
