Yes, you guys have a few fans from here in Aus. Its awesome to see what you get up to every episode though. Colonel Campers should be awesome. Mid engine and power steering. You guys always knock it outta the park.
Rather than beef up that mount more, I would add one to the other end of the motor, it looks like there's a set of tapped holes on the top end too... That would put it in double shear and make it significantly stronger.
Ethan it looks like you need to re-clock the u joints on the steering shaft. It looks about 70 degrees out. This will change the steering ratio as you turn one direction to the other. You need them lined up parallel to each other as long as the angles are on the same plane. But if the shafts have totally different angles on a second plane, then the joints have to be at the same point in the turn to minimize rotational ratio change.
Awesome! Project is coming along nicely. About CNC plasma cutter - welcome to the club! The best way to clean dross that worked for me every time was braided wire cup and some heavy rubber mat underneath to prevent parts to slide.

Congrats on the shot upgrades! Best part of CAD is if it fits together on screen, it almost always fits in real life. Also, it's the best trigonometry calculator ever invented. Fyi carbine end mills are kind of fragile, but you can probably cut 1/2" deep with a gentile touch. You'll chip the corner off the cutter eventually. Looks like the spindle is turning a bit slow for that size cutter and general milling as well .

For milling i'd suggest getting some bullnose end mills. Unlike regular ones they have a slight radius at the corners on the end, so they will form a nice beveled/curved inside edge. On only will that look more finished, but will also keep potential stress fractures from forming at the sharp corners since there won't be any.

I just love your builds, they keep getting bigger and better, I love the ingenuity that you use on the builds and the video quality is top notch. Keep up the great work guys!
Ethan a tip for your cutting of pipes for roll cage's, instead of using a hole saw try using an appropriate sized END MILL in the jig you use or you could use it in the Mill next to the chains Required sign (4:40 mins in) Either way you would get cleaner, faster more accurate cuts and the end mill would last longer "don't forget to use cutting oil! To make the end mill last as long as possible 😁) Love the longer episodes lately Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺
Wouldn't an annular cutter be better? An end mill has to remove all the material in its path, unlike an annular cutter, or a holesaw. Anyway, I think the fact that holesaws are cheap is probably the driving factor here.
@@johnjosephson9277 your probably right John, using the term end mill is a direction for them to explore which is appropriate. I originally saw Kevin on the channel KSR Performance and Fabrication using them to fab up roll cage's on the race cars he builds, I'm GHPC case with the amount of subscribers that they have, they could put the word out for people who may do the machine shop, garage shop, farm sale rounds to keep their eyes open for good second hand end mills, tooling, even collects chucks and what ever else they need In fact Abom79 does work shop tours as part of his channels activities, and about 5 or 6 months ago did a absolutely brilliant tour of this acquaintance who had 3 ginormous buildings full of second hand +machinery workshop machines he buys and sells I bet Ethan would be like a kid in a lolly shop checking out the stuff Oh how I wish I had that sort of place near me in rural Western Australia I probably would forget where home was! Gonna be honest, this vs that on hoonigan with one of the power wheels would be nuts
We’ve been talking to them about something like that!
Ethan a tip for your cutting of pipes for roll cage's, instead of using a hole saw try using an appropriate sized END MILL in the jig you use or you could use it in the Mill next to the chains Required sign (4:40 mins in)
Either way you would get cleaner, faster more accurate cuts and the end mill would last longer "don't forget to use cutting oil! To make the end mill last as long as possible 😁)
Love the longer episodes lately

Wouldn't an annular cutter be better?
An end mill has to remove all the material in its path, unlike an annular cutter, or a holesaw.
Anyway, I think the fact that holesaws are cheap is probably the driving factor here.
@@johnjosephson9277 your probably right John, using the term end mill is a direction for them to explore which is appropriate. I originally saw Kevin on the channel
KSR Performance and Fabrication using them to fab up roll cage's on the race cars he builds,
I'm GHPC case with the amount of subscribers that they have, they could put the word out for people who may do the machine shop, garage shop, farm sale rounds to keep their eyes open for good second hand end mills, tooling, even collects chucks and what ever else they need
In fact Abom79 does work shop tours as part of his channels activities, and about 5 or 6 months ago did a absolutely brilliant tour of this acquaintance who had 3 ginormous buildings full of second hand +machinery workshop machines he buys and sells
I bet Ethan would be like a kid in a lolly shop checking out the stuff
Oh how I wish I had that sort of place near me in rural Western Australia
I probably would forget where home was!

Its always good to squirt some cooling sauce on your endmill cutter when your milling so your bit dont get dull
I wish i had that simple tech when i had my steal fab business, in Aus. Love the content boys have for years.
I've been watching you guys for awhile now and just moved to the flathead valley to find out you lived pretty close! absolutely love the content! One of the best youtubers out there!
thanks man!
Alls im saying is.... the van... with a camper trailer.... would be absolutely legendary. A 1 person sleeping camper. For the overlanding adventures
I had a smile on my face through this entire episode. Thanks, GHPC! I needed that.
Hey Ethan, if you are able measure what your milling without moving it in the Z axis you can make adjustments taking away material with higher accuracy. Move it in the X or Y axis instead. Love you guys, the builds awesome.
Yeah, I just had it in a weird spot where I couldn’t move it far enough away to get the calipers in there.
Got to make a harness for the barbie seats!
Absolutely!
im really excited that you have a new project and even more the you have that cnc! it makes ethans fabrications alot easier and faster
we're stoked!
You guys are doing amazing 👏 I've been watching your channel for a couple of years and I Love the vids, this channel has actually inspired me to build one on my own!
Thanks for watching man! You'll have to send us pictures of your build!
Get ya a digital read out (DRO) for your mill. Makes a world of difference.
Ethan's machinist game has really evolved, good work!
That'd be a sick build to run an exo cage on. Stoked to see how this one turns out!
That Arc Droid tho!
It’s pretty sweet!
Man i love you guys i had a big foot as a kid and i would have loved a real motor..i always had these ideas but never had he skill to execute..so i salute ❤😂
That’s Awesome, you can pretty much make anything.
