I watch a video on UA-cam where a guy took old rubber bicycle tires and cut them to open them up and used sheet metal screws and after the first two, started pulling and stretching the tires they screwed it. Covering the whole wheel. The guy demoed the work and the mower had super traction. He made a follow up video and a year later still going strong. Saw also that some are also out an adhesive/glue on the bicycle tire as they installed it to add integrity to the install.
This method is a lot easier bud, and cheaper as there is no expense...

You can also go to Harbor Freight and get some cheap wheels with the same size hubs. Pry the treads off and put the new treads on your old wheels. As long as the driven gear on the wheel isn’t worn out it works great.

I did this exact thing a couple months ago. Little black rubber bits all over my garage and workbench 😂😂😂 but it worked like a charm.

Great video, thanks. I'll try your method on my Snapper before trying the bike tire retread method. Either's better than the $60 a piece OEM wheels!
You might also be able to find some replacement wheels on amazon (aftermarket) cheaper than $60....

Spray WD40 on those gears. Should help keep grass from sticking.😊
I don’t have one of those grinders what else could I us to make those cuts.
I think I'll do that instead of heating mine up with the heat gun & swapping the rubbers. I meant Sandy area so my tires and Blades don't last too long
