NiSi Athena Prime Lens Set + Nikon Z8 (PL-Z Mount) Lens Test

- Our good friends over at Nisi let us test out their Athena Prime Lens Set during the downtime of night 2 at NAB! So we took our 9 hours, paired the lenses with the Nikon Z8, and tested them around Las Vegas. We also had a chance to use the new NiSi PL-Z mount adapter for these lenses! This is going to open up a range of lenses for the Nikon Z mount line, specifically for the Nikon Z8 and Z9.

They sure do look good! The thing I liked the most out of them was how sharp they are, but they don’t have much character. They’re pretty clinical.

Is there any hot issue with Nikon z8 ?
Some people have complained about a hot card issue, but I haven’t gotten it. I think it’s cfexpress dependent. No issues at all in Vegas for NAB, and I did a 8K 60 test with no issues either letting the card run out. I’m currently using a prograde card
@@sidneybakergreen thank you for info. Do you insert same card in both card slot or just one ? How to shoot n log 10 bit 422 video with Nikon z8?
@@funwebland there is only one CF express card slot. My test were only done in raw, which is probably the most taxing. If you’re asking, how do you shoot in those modes, you just change the settings.

@@funwebland I have only shot RAW on the Z8. But the only thing you won't have is RAW controls, everything else will remain the same in the grading process.
