I know it's not part of the Amazon requirements for labeling covered by this video, but recently US Customs started enforcing a labeling requirement for "Made in China" on the outer shipping carton as well. It has always been a requirement, but it is now being strictly enforced just for shipments entering the US from China.

Hi there, I will be selling clothing. Rather than using a cheap polybag, can I put the clothing into a sealable, bubblewrap padded envelope (the kind you buy at the post office to send things in)? This type of bag seems much more secure to me and would have a better presentation I think.

Thanks for such nice cidoes. I want to sell handmade products and other local products. But I am confused regarding packaging. How to affix permanent branding on product?
You're welcome! I'm glad you find value in the content! Depending on the the product, materials or how's it made, there's different methods to put branding on your product like silk screening, embossing, molding, stickers, etc etc. It's best to speak to the manufacturer. In some cases, you can't put branding on the product itself, it would have to go on the packaging, such as if you were selling candles or salt.
The suggestion to generate FNSKU barcode and send to manufacturer to design it into the packaging is a good one but how can we achieve that? For example during brand approval process amazon need pictures of the product first for approval and listing, and without listing how can we generate FNSKU barcodes? otherwise the manufacturer has to work twice on the design like first send us our product picture with our brand logo and then once amazon approves it then we generate FNSKU barcode and send it manufacturer again to add it into the design. Thank you! very good video. One question: if you are placing your brand on an existing product and the manufacturer has UPC barcode for that product, can you use manufacturer's UPC prior to switching to amazon bar code? Or you still need to buy an UPC code?
You're welcome! If you're doing private label, you must buy a new UPC barcode in order to create your product listing: ua-cam.com/video/-IOFXsLDFhA/v-deo.html

Hi, thank you for your great content. You talked about product size tiers. I am working on manufacturing a product that would fit in the large standard size box (18" x 14" x 8"). However, I am wondering if I have to take into account the cushioning. Amazon says products should be cushioned with 2" on each side. Does that mean if I make a product, it needs to fit into an 18" x 14" x 8" box with 2 inches of cushion on each side? (If so, the product would need to be no larger than 14" x 10" x 4"). Also, about being a manufacturer, would there be anything different about getting the UPC than if I were getting the product from a supplier? I saw your video about getting them from GS1.
Crescent: Your video is great! However, in the title its says "...UPC Barcodes Tutorial..." but I don't see where you talk about "UPC Barcodes" in the video. Is the FNSKU the same as the UPC? Or, did I miss something? BTW: I am a novice Amazon Seller trying to get my first product on Amazon. Thanks for this very informative video.
Hello! I'm glad you found value in the video! This video is about packaging and labeling. If you want to learn about barcodes specifically, this goes over it: ua-cam.com/video/-IOFXsLDFhA/v-deo.html
Hi, I have a few questions about how to pack my cartons for AMZ FBA. I have a product with the following dimensions of 48"x6"x6" and weight of 14lbs per unit 1. What is the most number of units can I pack in 1 carton without getting additional charges from Amazon? 2. Should I floor load or pallet load my cartons? What is the requirements, pros, and cons of each?
Hello. 1) The unit size is too big and will be considered oversize and must be packed invidually. I go over the carton guidelines in the video. 2) Your freight forwarder will be able to give you the best action depending on how its packaged and how many you're shipping etc.
Hi sir i have 1 question Please give me answer my brand name is spider Bottle right but Amazon takes so long to request Improval so should i sell no brand and what's the difference between brand or no brand thank you so much ur so cool
Hello. If you register your trademark, you can get approved almost right away. This goes over it: ua-cam.com/video/2VBGR2JpZ1A/v-deo.html Otherwise, you can send photos of your product with the branding on it to get approved, this goes over it: ua-cam.com/video/VnDepaYeEtA/v-deo.html
Hello!! I am doing OA & have a question, where do I put the FNSKU label if I put bubble wrap / poly bag on the item ? Inside or outside? & if FNSKU goes outside of the bubble wrap/ poly bag, do I have to cover the original manufacturer barcode on the actual item??? Thank you for your videos they're so informative.
Hello. The FNSKU needs to be on the outermost packaging so that it can be easily scanned. If the other barcode can’t be seen then you don’t need to do anything to cover it up.
I'm glad you found value in the video! No, the barcode needs to be on the exterior so it can be scanned. The Country of Origin can go on the packaging or on the product.
Im new to all of this. Can I have my products shipped to my house and then I send them to an Amazon facility? I wanted to check my first shipment and possibly modify the poly bags.
The barcode needs to go on the outer most packaging so it can be scanned. The country of origin can be on the packaging or product. The shipping labels need to go on the shipping cartons.
@@CrescentKao hey Crescent. I was talking to Amazon over the phone and they told me that it must say on the product itself the country of origin ( not the packaging ). Im really confused now. Country of origin must be printed/engraved on each individual product ?!!!!

Hi love your content i have a ques: can i send vaccumed poly bag products to amazon? My supplier told me my product is pillow type so its bigger can i do vaccum packaging
Thank you for the video. Question - Could the FNSKU be printed on the product insert that sits inside the clear polybag and is visible from the outside?
@Crescent Kao I am confused , Amazon needs a UPC bar code to create a listing isn't that supposed to go on the product packaging? You mentioned each unit should only have one label, so where is the amazon FNSKU bar code supposed to go?
hey thanks for the video, i am selling toys and today my listing removed and amazon asks for ASTM F963-17 and CPSIA report, would you please make a video about how to make these reports?
You're welcome! You need to get your product tested by an accredit lab to get those reports/certificates: www.cpsc.gov/Regulations-Laws--Standards/Statutes/The-Consumer-Product-Safety-Improvement-Act
Hi Crescent, I'm kind of confused now, with saying I suggest using FNSKU on every Unit instead of UPC code, do you mean I don't have to buy UPC, EIN...? if NO, where the UPC code should go?. Consider my product doesn't have a Custom Packaging design and comes with few same items in one polybag as one. Thank you again for your time.
Hi Crescent, I have two questions. 1) I am doing private label my lashes packaging with 3 pairs in it. They are different shapes only, but the same product. I need just a barcode for one pack, correct? 2) I saw some specifications on another eyelashes I bought from amazon. It has these details: production name, production date, production batch model e trademark. Do I need to have all these options on it too? Or in your opinion it was an option by the seller. Thank you in advance.
Hello. 1) Each unit only needs to have one barcode on it. It doesn't matter how many items are inside. This goes over it: ua-cam.com/video/o0ZoSR4vRkU/v-deo.html 2) It's up to you want to add those details. 3) Yes. This goes over it: ua-cam.com/video/lcGHgplGkbY/v-deo.html
Great video, thx! I've been binge watching again...you stated the freight forwarder adds the "amazon labels" as well as their shipping labels? or is that the manufacturer? would it be rude to request a photo once they are affixed?
No. The FF or whoever is arranging the shipment will apply the shipping labels. Your manufacturer will apply the Amazon labels. I suggest watching the video again.
Great vid. Thanks. How is it for books packaging? Am I required to label every single book that is inside the box before sending to Amazon? I am completely new to this.
I’m glad you found it helpful! If you don’t want your inventory commingled with other sellers inventory, then you need to put the FNSKU barcode on them. I always suggest doing this because you can’t guarantee the quality of other people’s products and risk getting bad reviews.
Hi I wanna know will Amazon take towels that are package parachute material instead of a cardboard box.I can send pictures of how they’re packaged with labels on top. Please help thank you
Thanks for the information, very easy to understand. The part Im still confused about is I would like to sell some craft paper on amazon. The supplier has a cardboard cover/label/casing for the sheets already, with their UPC designed into it. My question is, I will need to ask them to provide an outer protective cover and to attach the label I will create with the FNSKU to that outer packaging for when they send the package to Amazon? I'll use FBA, so once it reaches Amazon, they would just place it into a padded envelope for eg. then ship to customers right?
Hello Thanks For the Video😊Im a bit Confused i deleted a product that had variation and re listed but now it doesnt show me the print FNSKU option I need the send the label so my Manufacture can print them out Help!!and i am in the FBA Site do you know how to fix this 😢
Thank you so much.... But i have one doubt that is who does the last shipment I mean who is going to ship my product finally to Amazon warehouse Is it Amazon itself or the freight forwarder Plz I need this answer
Hello Crescent, Thank you so much for your content, it is very helpful. I wanted to ask you based on what you said about UPC and FNSKU. So if we are selling on Amazon we only need the UPC to create the listing and than the FNSKU is the only barcode we need on the units correct? What labeling goes on the outer case, for example if your units are being shipped 10 in a case. There will be an outer box and the individual boxes in the case. I’m assuming FNSKU goes on the individual boxes in the case but not sure what goes on the case boxes. Thank you for your help!
How exactly do I print the barcodes onto the stickers... do I buy specific paper with "label stickers" on them and when i print it automatically puts the barcode onto the sticker?
Hi Crescent ! Thanks for the video. I have a question. What if, lets say a spoon. I'm putting the spoon in a poly bag or wrapped with plastic or oop bag before my customized box packaging. Do i still need to paste the suffocation warning label since the poly / oop / plastic is not my main packaging ? Customer will have to open up the box packaging to reach the plastic/oop/poly bag where is the spoon sit
The content is very informative. Can u plz clarify that if i am doing FBA WHOLESALE, do i need to place FNSKU thru prep centre on each item or box / shipping labels are good enough for sending inventory to Amazon warehouse?
I'm glad you found value in the content! Every unit needs to have the FNSKU on it. The shipping cartons need to have the shipping labels on them. It's not one or the other. You must do both.
Is there any way in advance to know what packaging Amazon will put over my packaging when it gets shipped to the customer? There's so little information on this.
Thanks for the great video! One question - if I create the FNSKU sticker BEFORE I've entered in all the info into the listing such as the individual box/carton size/ weight, will there be any issues with the FNSKU sticker? (becuase I want to send the supplier the FNSKU sticker first, but Im still waiting for them to confirm both the individual product box and shipping carton info). Thanks in advance!
New subscriber! Liked your video. Appreciate all the info. I have funko pops and hot wheels cars I would like to ship to Amazon FBA, do I need to wrap them with bubble wrap and insert in poly bags?
I'm glad you found value in the content! If the product is already in manufacturer packaging, you don't need to repackage it. Just put the correct labels on it.
Hello!! Always finding your videos super interesting!! So, if I may ask, it's not the UPC code to be put on the bags containing the product, but the SKU only or both codes? Including the "made in China" writing as well? Thank you in advance for your reply
Hello! I’m glad you’re finding value in the content! The FNSKU needs to go on every unit. You can add the country of origin on it too if you want. This goes over it: ua-cam.com/video/tdJqj7tEjdM/v-deo.html

Hi I like your videos they're clear and straight to the point. Q. If I'm using FBA, do I still need to put my individual product in a box before sending it to Amazon? They are in my design packaging but it's not a box It's a drawstring bag. Thanks

Hi Crescent! Love your videos sir keep it up! I do have one question I would like my supplier to send it from China directly to the Amazon warehouse. Does this mean my work here is done and I do not need to reach out to any freight forwarders? Also, would this mean that for the shipping carrier option I would choose (Other) instead of Amazon Partnered carrier? Would really appreciate some help on this one! Thanks again!

Excellent video (once again) - Question: Does AMZ FBA add additional protection as needed inside their shipping box - or is your product free to bounce around despite your protection in the poly bag or box etc?
Happy to hear that you continue to find value in the videos! Amazon might. They may add bubble packing inside, they may not. I’m sure you’ve bought things from Amazon and seen how your items where packaged.
Hi crescent, thank you for your awesome jobs🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳for my understanding.the only function for upc barcode is to create a listing,,I don’t even need to print them out and stick to my products, because anyway we will stick FNSKU barcode onto it Afterwards, right?
Thank you Crescent. So I have to test list my product, and with that listing I can retrieve my labels, and send them to my supplier? Is it that simple?
Does it make sense to do fba if you have a lot of 1 quantity items that are not small such as a lamp, toilet seat, safety gates, etc? Seems to be the boxes i will be putting them in won’t be different than the boxes Amazon ships them in.
It doesn’t matter if the boxes aren’t Amazon branded. You need to do the math and see if whatever you’re selling will actually turn a profit: ua-cam.com/video/TflkSUcJEdc/v-deo.html

You're welcome! The size and weight for each tier is the whatever the final unit size and weight is, not what's inside the box/package.
Thank you.

Hi, I have a few questions about how to pack my cartons for AMZ FBA. I have a product with the following dimensions of 48"x6"x6" and weight of 14lbs per unit

Awesome video! If you've already put the FNSKU and country of origin on the box, do you also need to put it on the product itself?
I'm glad you found value in the video! No, the barcode needs to be on the exterior so it can be scanned. The Country of Origin can go on the packaging or on the product.
Im new to all of this. Can I have my products shipped to my house and then I send them to an Amazon facility? I wanted to check my first shipment and possibly modify the poly bags.

Do you also have to label the actual product ? Or just the box is fine ? Im talking about the barcode and country of origin and logo

@Crescent Kao I am confused , Amazon needs a UPC bar code to create a listing isn't that supposed to go on the product packaging? You mentioned each unit should only have one label, so where is the amazon FNSKU bar code supposed to go?

Thank you in advance.
One more question, Can I have the FNSKU printed on the packaging instead of labeled?

Hello Crescent,
Thank you so much for your content, it is very helpful.
