- Living way beyond it's actual lifespan the "Arrowverse" on The CW has finally been laid to rest with the cancellation of Gotham Knights. Only making it to half of one season, matching that of Naomi, people has had enough of this dross.

they tried a bunch of shows without Batman, tried to bury Superman
only for all of them to die, with only Superman left standing
that's because of Henry Cavill. Also the appeal with Superman is he is famous internationally. once they make Superman gay he will no longer be internationally relevant.

There are so many people in the world who are gay or bi, so statistically it's normal that some in the hero community would be too.
Like with Tim Drake figuring out his sexuality in his early 20s... I was pissed about it at first because they broke him up with Stephanie Brown off-screen, and Robin+Spoiler was my favorite DC couple...
But aside from that, it's fairly realistic. In a group like the entire Batfamily (Batman, all the Robins, all the Batgirls, the Signal, Batwing, etc), it's not that farfetched that there would be one non-straight person in the lot.
@@randallflagg3700 Except they don't introduce a new hero and just happens to be [insert alphabet]. They take an existing hero and change them regarding all prior canon and facts. Jon Kent is a failure and the comic is dead. Tim Drake is not gay nor bi nor anything other than straight. It's an agenda, not actual good story writing.
They can't write characters, so they change existing to get the fanbase, and then wonder why the fanbase *despises* them for it
@@randallflagg3700 Um... Tim Drake was heterosexual up until recently (He dated Stephanie Brown and only shown interest in women) and Batwoman is already homosexual. It's just that they never made a big deal about it before because it wasn't her only defining character trait. So your example for the Batfamily is already shaky because is was already a thing before all of this weird diversity thing. Dunno much about Jon Kent but that seems pretty out of nowhere too, seeing how it was never mentioned before in the comics when he was chilling Damien Wayne (And it can't be an age thing because Damien had romantic interests).
But we all know why they picked Tim Drake and Jon Kent, not because it makes sense or fits their character but because they're not as popular. They were hoping to get away with it because they assumed the fans won't care as much... they weren't completely incorrect, it's just that they made the fans care even less.
If you really need to make characters gay then go with the popular ships, so that at the very least the Fujoshis can get something out of this. But instead they went with very generic looking and uninteresting OC's that nobody cares about, so not even the Yaoi fangirls can have fun with it. Believe me, if they had picked one of the popular ships the fangirls would have kept these comics alive.

His channel seems to be the kiss of death for these shows. He covered Willow, which got canceled. He covered Gotham Knights, canceled. If Velma gets canceled and season 2 doesn't get released, we'll know he has the ✨️gift.✨️
Maybe we could find him some shows he missed - like the "Charmed" series - not the original... the woke one!

The Arrowverse actually didn't start this way, I recommend Arrow season one and two.

The first couple of seasons of each show, usually started good to okayish before going bad. Until Batwoman which hit the ground running awful. I’m still angry about how they did Kevin Conroy.

It was always trash. I couldn’t make past episode 1 of Flash and only watched 10 minutes of Arrow.

The only thing that could have saved the Arrow-verse was a Flashpoint style reboot after Supergirl S2, but then again if that did happen we would never have Az and the EFAP crew suffering through three seasons of Batwoman.
I mean they did that after Crisis on Infinite Earths, merging all the earths into one. The problem was Berlanti and the agenda behind the cameras.
Efap didn't even finish season 2 of batwoman they are like episode 11.
God, I feel so sorry for Disparu....

Superman & Lois will have a shortened season 4 and a smaller cast w/ o some of the supporting cast, however it's not known who won't be returning. I really hope the quality doesn't suffer due to the budget cuts.

Gotham wasn't bad, it was good different. it was never meant to be about Batman, it was about Gordon and the city
I enjoyed it, but was always annoyed they had annoying, angry little Bruce Wayne in the show.
Yeah the show grew on me. And Cameron Monaghan was a scene stealer.

That "Joker's Daughter" (because we want Harley Quinn but didn't get the rights), I feel it was a self-insert... just done better than most others.
That's why she had based comments, because the writer actually wrote... instead of trying to write exactly like themselves though, they allowed the character to breath, and thought about things they wouldn't normally think about, then put them in the character's mouth.
To be honest the woman playing Joker's daughter gave the best acting performance in the show....of course the bar was set was so low that James Cameron could never find it

Just saying that there was juuuuuust enough actual talent put into her lines for the actress to work with.
I do feel a little bit sorry for the actors ... even if they had any talent they would be very hard pressed to sign on with a new project. With the entirety of the CW Arrowverse lineup going down the tubes it's going to be tough to find roles that specifically call for "Pretty, Bland, Vapid and Emotionless".
But wait it earned all of the Twitter bucks, surely they funded at least 5 seasons of Gotham Knights?

Everytime a cw show gets cancelled I gain a brief moment of hope that maybe THIS time they'll bring back Swamp Thing.
James Gunn has a Swamp Thing movie coming out, so I don't see the show coming back

I'm not surprised or upset at all. I was just waiting for them to come out with the news it was cancelled and it was about time they did. I will miss the reviews on it though. Those were the best part.
I feel for the actors who go through the process of getting these jobs and end up out of work six months later due to the horrible writers the CW keeps hiring.
These kids are chosen for their youth and looks not their talent. The US entertainment industry has done that since dot. Some do the training, are good and happen to be attractive (e.g Timothee Chalamet) but they're few and far between.
I don’t feel bad for them. In fact I would deposit that they are going, “Oh thank God. I’m out of this career-ender! I’M FREEEEEE!”

I find myself wishing for more bad shows just for the funny reviews. I don't even watch shows anymore, just reviews of shows I have no intention of watching.

It's a shame what the Berlanti-verse became when you look at where it started. Arrow was great until it became all about felicity and flash had one good season.
One good move James Gunn has done is say no ty to the berlanti staff.
Personally I was hoping Superman + Lois would get canceled too. What started out as something good rapidly became a multiverse reboot fake out and then formulaic boring predictable storytelling with repetitive tropes, making characters stupid for the sake of plot and Superman needing saving every week. Whats with this cancer storyline that feels shoehorned into the third season just to try to make the show like it’s teaching a lesson? The Arrowverse and all shows related to it turned into TV cancer when lecturing became front and center and lazy predictable story telling is used to pad in the gaps.
"The Network will not move forward with a second season, _it won't even move forward to finish the first_ "... wait, where did you get that second part? It's not in the article you're reading... and there was *always* going to be 13 episodes in that first season, even months before the show was aired we already knew that episode 13 would be the finale.
So yes, they are finishing the first season.

Loved Disparu's meltdowns.
It died for me when Constantine was cancelled with at its worst having numbers their non Flash shows could only dream of hitting. I was in on Arrow early on, same with The Flash, even the first series of Heroes of Tomorrow, but when Constantine was cancelled when it was getting good kind of like happened with the Dresden Files, I was done, though I did try to like black lightening as it looked cheesy but at least he looked like a manly hero, but that was no better than the rest of what they were pushing. There is a reason certain things are popular, and if you take that out of it to push your own nonsense in a skin suit calling itself that thing, then it defeats the whole point and it was no surprise that the CW had to be given away because of it.

That show is pretty damn bad, but what's wrong with the way Bruce Wayne was killed? Getting poisoned by his new, trusted "Alfred", and then getting attacked by the Court's Talon while he was weakened and didn't have access to his batsuit/batbelt, and thrown out a window... why not?

It's not just that they used the same actor for Superman, or that they used the same actress for Lois, but that it's also set in the same multiverse. So no, the Arrowverse won't be dead as long as that one last show is on, but it might as well be with how far they've gone in trying to destroy the franchise.

When I saw the trailer fir Goth Nights and the dialogue went “so you’re the jokers daughter and you managed to kill Batman “, I just laughed and knew it was woke trash. Then I saw the rest of the trailer with three girls pretending to be tough guys and it just confirmed my suspicions.

I used to watch Arrow then Flash religiously for a few years. How far it’s fallen. After the 321st “Run, Barry.” speech, Flash needing a confidence boost from one of the other cast members? I gave up.
CW actors make David Hasselhoff look like Lawrence Olivier.
I used to love the arrow verse back when it was just Flash and Arrow. I knew When “Legends of Tomorrow” announced I knew it was the start of the end for the CW.
I'm sure tens of people are really disappointed.

Two things. Is this technically even part of the Arrowverse? And second, Superman & Lois got renewed, so sort of not the end. (That show is also not technically part of the Arrowverse.) If were getting picky, I’d say the Arrowverse actually ended when Flash aired it’s last episode.

@3:46 I didn't know that James Stoteraux was the co-exec and supervising producer on 'The Legend of the Seeker' series, that alone shows he is as fucking incompetent as the minds behind Amazon's 'Wheel of Time' adaptation.
Hope Superman and Lois is next because season 3 is depressing and boring as hell. Barely any good story and fight scenes for Superman!
The show also seemed more interested in exploring all the other side characters, which got very boring very quickly.
CW in critical is good, but I'm not satisfied before Disney lying on the ground with 2 center mass and 1 slug in the head.
