Still waiting for Disney to explain where the 50 BILLION dollars in "emergency" Covid funds went, 12 Billion went to the failing Star Wars hotel, but other than that, where did the other 38 Billion in taxpayer funded free handouts go? The best part is at that time they didn't JUST get a 50 billion dollar taxpayer funded handout, they ALSO took out 30 billion dollars in loans, and lets not mention the additional like 30 BILLION in free taxpayer funded handouts they've gotten since then. So where'd that 80-100 BILLION dollars go? Disney LITERALLY received as much if not MORE money than the U.S. has donated to Ukraine to fight a proxy war against Russia, yet nobody knows where that money went, meanwhile Bob Iger and Bob Chepeck keep getting 500 million dollar bonus' a year despite firing LITERAL tens of thousands of employees

What I love about the impending disaster of The Marvels most is the fact every hook and every crook Disney utilized to pump up Captain Marvel four years ago will come back to bite them in the butt now. An act of cosmic justice not being observed too often.

The financials for the quarter did not show the increase in net profits one would expect. They had a worse net profit to gross profit ratio.
I.e. they spent a *lot* of promotional money to get the gross income. This included giving away a lot of tickets but may have also included flat out buying their own tickets. Business Insider reported on studios buying their own tickets during that time period-- it's an old scam- record companies used to buy their own records to get them to gold (100,000) so the records would sell more copies. Major scandal in the 50s. In this case, BI reported on studios buying out *entire empty* theaters in china. BI is a very old and respected financial magazine.
More to the point... Disney *could not afford* for Captain Marvel to fail since it would have cost them hundreds of millions from Endgame (as it was- I saw Infinity War 6 times in theaters but Endgame only once because CM being in the film just ruined it for me).
Of course, it's more than just Captain Marvel-- in this case it literally is Brie Larson. She's attacked her customers. That's really dumb.

Smile, be friendly, project positive emotions and empathy - maybe show up with a dude to the next "movie star event" where she lets him lead her around, etc. and shows a feminine side. In the 2020's the term "dude" is essentially an insult. 99.9% of the time it is used as a derogatory term in a passive aggressive way. So it doesn't matter how many times she says "i dont hate white dudes," it is clear from her using the term that she has a stereotypical impression of middle aged, fat, sweaty, balding, virgins who live in their mom's basement and have zero social interactions. She absolutely does hate that demographic and she sadly doesn't differentiate between those specific "dudes" and every other man.

I would have to agree with you on this one. I HATED Brie Larson after Captain Marvel, but then I saw her on a show with Bear Grylls doing an extreme survival outing with him. I gained a new respect for her as she toughed her way through the task, didn’t whine or complain, and seemed to have genuine conversations with Bear about a variety of topics. I then came to the conclusion that she was probably a genuinely nice person in real life, but she had been so engulfed in the Hollywood life that she really couldn’t be herself and had been indoctrinated with “the message “!! I then began to feel sorry for her and have hoped she wouldn’t become another cautionary tale of what Hollywood does to young stars. She still has time to turn it around. Maybe she should hang out with Chis Pratt!🤔🤔🤔

The effect of it being just before Endgame was amplified by the fact that one couldn't see Captain Marvel anywhere outside of cinema. Dvd's and such were only available after Endgame. So one only had options of go to cinema or don't watch it. Personally I watched Captain Marvel in indian cinema and ended up hating it and the bs of its marketing so much I never went to watch Endgame.
